things from the cyborg monday chat:

-Marissa Meyer will be visting Utah “sometime soon”
-a studio in Hollywood has rights for a Lunar Chronicles movie and they say they’re very excited about it and hope to move forward on it soon!
-Thorne’s name was originally Alexander Woods, because he fulfills the woodsman in Red Riding Hood
-Carswell means “grows at the watercress pond” (AAAAAAAAH)
-Cress is a type of lettuce (so is Rapunzel)
-the Rampion is inspired by the fairy tale
-Cress might have been Arugula 😛
-marissa’s favorite unused power from Renegades is someone who could find anything that was lost (she said they’d be rich because they could find all the lost change)
-she says it’s really important to create a space for writing without any distractions and if you don’t have that space cafes and the back of buses are good, and don’t make it top priority so you can enjoy it and focus
-Iko was not based off of Pinocchio
-There are only two Renegades books 🙁
-The napkins that Cinder gave Adri would’ve turned back to napkins as soon as Cinder left, but Adri wouldn’t have noticed until long after when someone at the palace put the pieces together
-she says to never ever say you have writer’s block, because it’s a psycological excuse to get away from it, and a good way to get around it is to step away from the computer and brainstorm with a notebook, or write another part of the story
-the work that she is the most proud of is Winter
-if she could live in the world of one of her books it would be Wonderland (Heartless)
-if any character in the main cast in Lunar Chronicles had to die it would’ve been Wolf
-The characters in Lunar Chronicles have a universal language that is a mix of Chinese, English, and Spanish, with its own slang
-Cinder’s father was a low-class nobody who Channary genuinely liked but was too embarrassed to admit it, and he may be revealed someday!
-her favorite part of a story to write is romance
-she says to not back off of a story because other people have already done similar things
-if she could spend a day in the life of any Renegades character she would be Adrian
-she was inspired to write renegades by misreading a sign that said coming soon: hero school! and even though renegades doesn’t actually have a school it was in up until the final draft

also she answered my question aaaaaaaaah 😀

Well, I used to have Renegades. 😛 My sister took it.

    She took my book.

    My beautiful, exclusive edition book.

    I think I might faint. 😛
