Hey clanmates! It’s Honeypelt here with my second article, which will be part one of a series. I will analyze my favorite characters, so stay tuned for each one of them. And SPOILER alert. First things first, you may have notice that I changed favorites since last post and it’s because I read DoTC, and fell for some charries there. So, there we go.
GRAY WING
Gray Wing is my favorite character, so I’m starting with him. Overall, I’m gonna give him a 10/10 note. He is very well developed (Well done Erins!) and each aspect of his backstory and personality gives him a very relatable tone.
Personality
Gray Wing is calm, and tries to maintain order when things are out of control. Unlike his brother, Clear Sky, but that is a thing for other post. He’s also obedient, as we see in a lot of moments thorough the books. Gray Wing tries to always see both sides of a problem before judging, what I think to be a very good skill to develop (Books give us advice too) He is also really humble, knowing when to step down and not letting his pride blind him.
But he has also weaknesses, such as the bad side of wanting to see both sides of a situation, that is, he always tries to cover up his brother’s faults, even when he himself knows it was wrong.
Relationships
Gray Wing has some interesting relations to the other characters in the series. He is a role model to a lot of the younger cats, noting his popularity and wise decisions.
When the cats of the moor part ways with the cats of the forest, he tries to keep in touch with his brother, but seeing the mistakes committed by him, Gray Wing no longer wants proximity with Clear Sky, even though he still loves his brother as much as before, and tries to understand him.
When Clear Sky rejects little Thunder, Gray Wing decides to act like a father to him, teaching him all he needs to know and loving him as much as if he was his own. Even then, he still tells the truth and accepts when Thunder decides to go live with Clear Sky when he is bigger. Then, when Thunder returns, he accepts him with all his heart again.
He was like a father to so many cats, like Turtle Tail and Tom’s kits, Thunder and his own, of course. Even though he couldn’t stay to see his own kiddos grow 
Asthma
I see the decision of giving him this illness really clever of the Erins. I mean, it’s so common that makes it relatable. We all know how a asthmatic person suffers, because it’s so common today! I myself have asthma. And I suffer with him thorough the books because I know how much it really hurts.
