I finished Blood of Olympus and it was sooooo good! I loved the fact that Reyna and Nico FINALLY got their own POVs
My one regret is… WHY DID I NOT GET THE FIRST TOA BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY AS WELL? I CANNOT WAIT 3-8 WEEK UNTIL WE GO AGAIN!!!!!! At least I got the last two books in MCATGOA, plus some others, so at least I’ll be occupied…
ToA is amaaaaazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 It’s from a (former) god’s POV, so that’s new, and well I can’t say more without spoiling it, but it’s awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially the Burning Maze. That book was an absolute rollercoaster 😀

i really love Reyna or Nico!
Nico for me has always been a very relatable character, with his moodiness, and his fear of getting attached to people. I’ve been left behind by friends more than a few times, and you learn to stop getting attached. So that part of his character has always felt very relatable to me.
As for Reyna, she’s the very type of person I want to be, dependable, strong, elegant and graceful, while of course, also having her flaws. And also, shes Puerto Rican, like me, so thats a big plus. Especially because i find it difficult to find media in which were represented.
So yeah, love Reyna and Nico

1. He’s arrogant and thinks he can do anything just bc he’s an augur or whatever
2. He tried to cause a war between the two camps
3. He didn’t believe anyone telling him that Gaea was the enemy, not Camp Half-Blood
4. He took over when Reyna left without anyone asking him to
5. He was always pressuring Reyna into making bad choices
6. He got Apollo in trouble with Zeus-the-bad-dad
7. He’s just soooooo annoyyinggggggggg

Hello Riordanverse fans!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve given up trying to convince anyone to like Octavian, so I have instead compiled a list of reasons why he shouldn’t be quite as hated as he is. These are all my opinions, you don’t have to agree with any of them 🙂
1. Since a lot of people are saying that he thought he could do anything he wanted just because he was the augur, which I can’t disagree with, but technically a senior augur is the second-most important role in Camp Jupiter, being directly under a Praetor in status.
2. His mental health was pretty terrible near the end….
3. I’m pretty sure his main idea was for Camp Half-blood to surrender and join Camp Jupiter, not for the entire thing to be destroyed, but like I said he was kind of insane at that point…
4. I’m also pretty sure he knew Gaea was the villain, because his entire premise for capturing CHB was for “all of the Olympians to become purely Roman, so Gaea never woke up in the first place” or something along those lines.
5. Ok, he hated the seven a lot, but technically he had valid reasons :
– The seven pretty much hated him since the moment he appeared.
– They’re constantly telling him to be quiet when he says a single word.
– At the beginning of SoN, I’m pretty sure he summoned red lightning or smth, and Percy just excused it as a “party trick”. LIGHTNING.
– Honestly they were just really mean to him.
6. About Percy’s panda plushie, he DID ask permission, and it was his job, you can’t exactly blame him for doing what he was supposed to be doing…
7. Logically, he couldn’t have killed Gwen, even he was the top suspect in the SoN. I’m pretty sure Percy knocked him unconscious or smth literally 5-10 minutes before Gwen died, so he couldn’t have managed to wake up, murder her, and then get away from the scene. It just isn’t physically possible.
8. In the entire series, I’m pretty sure he hasn’t killed a single person (other then himself). I’m pretty sure every other character has killed someone…
9. When he made himself Pontifex Maximus in BoO, he was actually allowed to do that, since that was a role that can be accessed during the case of an emergency, and I’m pretty sure that BOTH of your Praetors (was Percy Praetor???) falling into Tartarus counts as an emergency.
10. He wasn’t disobeying orders when he took over the legion-Reyna specifically agreed to leave him in charge.
11. I’m also fairly certain that Octavian, at any point in the series, did not want Reyna to die. When Reyna decided to help Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus, he actually tried to stop her, even though he would’ve been left in charge if she left.
12. He was also the only one who actually looked for Jason. The legion had enough money; they could’ve sent out a search party. But they didn’t.
13. He only tried to become Praetor AFTER Jason disappeared, when the legion actually needed a Praetor.
14. He was absolutely right at being mad at Percy after he became Praetor. He went straight for a Probatio to the head of the legion. Octavian probably had to work extremely hard to even attempt Praetorship.
15. He would have, actually, made a good Praetor. When the legion was attacking, umm, something, Reyna flew off and tried to fought it solo. Octavian led the First, Second, and THird Co

Octavian led the First, Second, and Third Cohort, and they actually fought well, while the Fourth and Fifth, who refused to follow him, were an absolute mess.
16. He was actually pretty smart. He designed the onagers used in the attack against CHB, orchestrated the entire attack so that there wouldn’t be a single Roman casualty-all while potentially going insane. In, like, one week. Admit it; even Annabeth would have a hard time doing that. If his mental health was even a teensy tiny bit better, CHB would probably be a pile of ashes right now.
17. It’s extremely likely that he was being influenced by Gaea. And possibly Nero, too.
18. He didn’t really do that much to be so hated. He didn’t even murder anybody-all he did was dislike the main characters.
19. The main thing Octavian wanted was to be remembered as “the savior of Rome”. Specifically, remembered. So we can assume he didn’t really have high hopes that anyone would appreciate him while he was alive…
20. None of his auguries, in the entire HoO arc, have been inaccurate. So his powers were actually real, not fake.
21. He probably knew that he was going to die when Gaea appeared. And that’s probably why he was panicking so much when Gaea woke up. That’s… actually pretty sad, when you think about it.
22. OK, I can’t deny that Octavian was a bit very attention-seeking, but that’s probably because nobody paid any attention to him. Everybody said that his powers were fake (which they weren’t) and honestly ignored him half of the time, so of course he had to lie and yell, and manipulate people into listening him. Especially when Percy and Jason were practically given everything on a silver platter (in the legion). He was honestly one of the most powerful people in the entire legion, even though he’s a legacy and everybody else is a demigod. Nobody really cared about what happened to him in the books. And most of them wanted him dead from the second they met him.
23. Despite the fact that I have just written a 23-point list of why Octavian shouldn’t be as hated as he is, we barely know anything about him. His backstory is a complete mystery.
