Ivypool

Goodddd this cat is so annoying ughh I hate her so much… She was really, really annoying as an apprentice for me. More annoying than Berrynose as warrior. Most annoying cat of all time. Yes, she was jealous and wanted recognition, but seriously, she annoyed my mind out. I also think her as a ‘Dovewing replacer’. I love Dovewing a lot, who would be ranking along my top ten favorite she-cats, and favorite out of the three. And I feel that Ivypool just replaced her. Of course, she did go through Dark Forest risks, and Dovewing had a relationship, but Dovey also had a hard time breaking up and getting used to not having her powers. I don’t really blame the forbidden relationship cats, since they are just in different Clans. (oi I’m going into Dove saving again) But yeah, I hate Ivypool a lot. (Can’t say as annoying as Squirrelpaw or Hollypaw since I loved them as apprentices, for their personalities too.) I just have a massive grudge for this she-cat. Really. I just made this article because I hate her so much.

Squirrelflight

I kinda hate her as a warrior. I loved her so much as Squirrelpaw, and her personality. But all this Ashfur-Snatch-Brambleclaw-Takeover thing just ruined her for me slightly. I think Squirrelash would have been good. Ashfur was being really kind to her but then when she took Brambleclaw as her mate, he just became like a psycho for revenge. Honestly, I don’t hate Ashfur at all. Only disappointed me with the revenge, but he was incredible before vengeance.

Needlepaw

I loved her and her personality but at the end of TAQ, she seemed like she didn’t care at all about Twigkit and Violetkit being seperated. Not at all. That is why I kinda hate her. If she did seem to care, she wouldn’t be in this. Bleehhh.

So I guess most of it was Ivypool rant. Done. -Bites popsicle stick- (:V)

  • I respect your opinion with all of your choices but I disagree with Ivypool. She is my favourite cat of all time. There are many reasons to support this but here is a few of them…
    1. From Ivy’s perspective her sister was constantly being called upon by the clan leader, the best fighter of all time and the medicine cat, all of whom were highly respected cats in the clan and she wasn’t.
Ever since that were young this was the case and Ivypool just grew tired of it which I completely agree with.
Yes she was rude to dovepaw some times but so was dovepaw.
On one occasion she even stated that she was a better warrior than Ivypool which is just outrageous.
On another occasion she accused ivy of being disloyal to thunderclan even though she was seeing a shadow clan cat when she was not supposed to.
People have said that Ivypool was dumb to join the dark forest but this is not true because if you even read the books you would know that hawk frost is a very manipulative cat and he clearly tricked her but she was NOT DUMB!
My final point is that Dovewing misused her powers from time to time.
Yes she used them to help the clan on several occasions but she also used them to eavesdrop on tiger heart and shadow clan when she was BORED.
So next time you say something dumb like Ivypool is evil or something just put yourself in her shoes.
You try your very best but no matter what your ‘special’ sister is always better than you at hunting. She also gets private meetings with some of the three most important cats in the clan! Wouldn’t you be jealousy
Ps: some of you say you would handle your jealousy better than she would, would really in all honest terms. You say you would ask a friend but what friends did she have other than the dark forest who would just tease her about her jealousy problems.
    Pps: no offense

  • I also really love Needlepaw, my fave cars of all time are Ivypool for her outstanding bravery, Needlepaw for her funny sarcasm and cloudtail for his wittiness.

  • I really hate Graystripe. I can’t see why anyone would like him? I like Graypaw, but Graystripe is just no.

  • My worst are…
    1. Dovewing.
    2. Bluestar (for making apprentices warriors really late, being really arrogant as an apprentice and seeing a Oakheart yet not wanting her sister to love Thistleclaw)
    3. Leafpool (as an adult not as an apprentice) for ruining Squirrelflight’s life and relationship
    4. And finally I really hated sparkpaw in one scene when she was really bratty about Needlepaw steeling a squirrel.

  • I like all these cats! .::braces self for the worst::. But you do got a point with Needlepaw. I still love her but I wish she showed more emotion when the kits were separated. Also, she didn’t want to talk to Alderpaw at the gathering? Wow. That also kinda upset me. Here are my most hated..
    5.Dovewing (DONT HURT ME)
    4.Sparkpaw
    3.Slate
2.Ashfur (please don’t hurt me for this either)
    1.Crowfeather
    Great article!

  • Same with Squirrelflight for me. I loved her as an apprentice and a young warrior but Squirrelflight now…ehhhhhh

    Same with Needlepaw.

BUT IVYPOOL IS MY 2ND FAVORITE CHARACTER

    • SAME!!! Ivypool is my second favorite too (favorite is Mapleshade). I really don’t like Needletail, and I LOVED Squirrelflight as an apprentice and really hated the drama with Brambleclaw and Ashfur.

    • OK, totally agree on that one. Squirrelflight’s whole love life was totally screwed up. Yellowfang even gave Squirrelflight a prophecy in Leafpool’s wish that sh would never have kits of her own. Then, what happens in TAQ? She has kits as a senior warrior with Bramblestar. Whatever.

      • Yes!!!! So true!!!! I feel like sometimes the novellas and super editions are their own separate world and whatever StarClan says in the novellas doesn’t even count toward the main arcs.

  • Okay, first I want to say, this was a nice article. However, I must disagree.

Ivypool- Okay, Ivypool’s jealousy, at least to me, seemed over played sometimes. However, I did love that in her character. She was well developed and it was interesting to see a min character who had flaws such as that. As for being a “Dovewing replacer”, she really wasn’t. Dovewing was a part of a prophecy. She had this huge destiny to fulfill and Ivypool was just the sister to the great cat who will save all. Her jealousy is understood and logical. I mean, haven’t you been jealous of a family member and felt like you were living in their shadow? Also, I must disagree with the contrasts between the two. While Dovewing was going through needless relationship drama, Ivypool was risking her life in the Dark Forest. While Dovewing lost her powers and was very concerned with that, Ivypool was actively acting as a spy, doing something for her Clan.

Squirrelflight- She is hands down my favorite Warriors character of all time. The best developed, interesting character who gets more hate than she deserves. Like you, I loved her as an apprentice, however, I must greatly disagree with your hate of her as a warrior. Squirrelflight has matured a lot. While she still has her fire, she has matured from that bratty, annoying, but lovable apprentice she once was. Squirrelflight, in my opinion, seems very human to me if you will. Most people start out as annoying little kids. However, they end up maturing and learning from past behaviors, that’s exactly what she was doing. I believe your hate for her is kind of weak. I apologize if I’m being rude, however, you hate her because she didn’t choose Ashfur? And if that’s not the reason, is it because of the whole love triangle thing? If so, that isn’t her fault whatsoever. When she and Brambleclaw were going through relationship issues, Squirrelflight wanted a friend. Ashfur stepped up and became that friend. At first, Squirrelflight thought she loved him, however she realized that her heart belonged to Brambleclaw instead. She never led Ashfur on because she thought that she loved him and she let him down easy. It wasn’t like she said “Hey Ashfur, you kind of suck and I love Brambleclaw. So yeah, bye!11!!” Instead, she told him that she didn’t love him in a kind way, hoping her friend would understand. Of course we know he didn’t and he went crazy on everyone because her “loved too much”. Anyway, I do agree that before all that, I did like Ashpaw/young Ashfur.

Nettlepaw- I haven’t read TAQ and have only heard spoilers, so I have no idea what my opinion on her is/would be.

  • I can’t agree enough about Ivypool! She’s so irritable and ungrateful, and I just, ugh. You do have a point with Squirrelflight, though. To be honest, i don’t like her nor love her. but Needlepaw….I just really, really, REALLY don’t like her…

  • I agree! I like Ivypool now more that all the dark forest stuff is over. And I REALLY liked Nettlepaw until the end, when she was acting really rude. I thought she would be a little more like Dovewing after she came back. Not quite as sentimental as Dovewing but not like she acted in the book.

  • I agree with Squirrelflight, but I can’t agree with Ivypool. I loved Ivypool because, finally, I could relate to a Warriors character! Her jealousy made a lot of sense, and I felt like it led to a lot of character development (which I love!) for her. I felt Ivypool’s pain because I really didn’t like Dovewing either. I know she isn’t a Mary-Sue, but she IS whiny and obnoxious. She has a super cool power, which Ivy would give anything for, but she just mopes around and complains about it for the first two, three books! Not to mention the fact that she has a bunch of friends, two toms mooning over her, and she got to go on a quest AS AN APPRENTICE. So she’s kind of a Warriors superstar. At first, Ivy joins the Dark Forest because she wants friends (which Dove has all of) and because she wants to be an amazing warrior so that maybe Dove won’t get all the attention. And, at first, it works. But when Ivy finds out that the Dark Forest is evil, she goes straight to Firestar. Not because she wants attention, but because she wants to help the Clans. She’s learned, which is great. And so she becomes a double agent, risking her life for all four Clans, while Dove keeps on complaining about her power and having soap-opera-worthy like drama. While Dove eventually gets over her whiny stage (mostly), the drama never ends. After the final battle (in which Ivy totally kicked tail by the way), Dove whines about losing her power, and breaks up with a great, loyal, unforbidden boyfriend for a stupid forbidden one. Meanwhile Ivy helps the Clan as much as she can (still with no mate and only a few friends), and helps the former DF cats gain respect from the Clan. //endrant

Plus I didn’t like Needlepaw either, the Erins were trying too hard to make a rebellious, feisty character and just ended up making her rude and one sided. Toodles~
