Warriors theory: Jay’s wing has two reincarnations!? by Prowlclaw

Prowlclaw has a theory about Jay’s Wing…

Hello Blogclan! Its Prowlclaw here with my first post!
And today I have a far fetched theory that may be as crazy as Ashfur and Whitewing being secret mates.
So as you may know by the title, I have been led to believe that Jay’s wing may have had TWO reincarnations. Now, bear with me as I explain this carefully, and it just might make sense. So, one day I happened to notice that Jayfeather and Feathertail looked awfully alike. For some odd reason, this intrigued me into doing some research with my sister, Lillypool. And what I found was quite intriguing. Feathertail is Jayfeather’s cousin, related through Graystripe. And what I also found is her heritage with the tribes is quite strong. Her brother’s kits have a tribe mother, making them half tribe and half clan blood. Speaking of blood, I have noted that Jayfeather, Jay’s wing, and Feathertail only share minor differences in appearance, like all reincarnations do. Another thing I wanted to note, is that just because Jay’s wing was a boy, does not mean it has effect on their day to day life, other than visions or prophecies, as seen with Cinderpelt and Cinderheart when Cinderpelt is sweet while Cinderheart was a drama queen. Also, the Erins confirmed that the reincarnated cat’s souls are different from the cat who was intertwined with that soul. Still with me? Good. That top part was only proof that I came up with. So if you haven’t got what I was indicating yet, just to sum up the proof, I believe that Jay’s wing first reincarnation was feathertail. Here is how I think it happened in the story.
Jay’s wing first reincarnation is feathertail, who looked very much like him. I believe Jay’s wing wanted to first repay the tribe and guided the cats to the mountains sot that he could return the tribe of rushing water to see his old home. Though, when he learns that starclan has sent them a prophecy about feathertail, he decides that starclan is aiding him on his mission to help the tribe. When feathertail had to make the decision to jump, I believe Jay’s wing had made her realize that she was the cat in the prophecy so that the clan cats and tribe cats could benefit from killing the sharp tooth. This also helps Jay’s wing transition into Jayfeather’s life, Where Feathertail’s spirit comes to Squirrelfight to convince her to take on Leafpool’s kits, telling her she was never meant to fall in love with crowfeather and have kits because it wasn’t her destiny. Which can be translated into “Starclan had different plans for me.” This would fill the gap to why Crowfeather and Feathertail never had kits. It was because she had a greater destiny planned for her. One greater than having a mate and kits. That would conclude why I think Jay’s wing has two reincarnations.

  • This is very interesting and has some well-done research, but I doubt it’s true.

For one, it would be really odd for a cat to be reincarnated more than once. Does that mean Jayfeather is the reincarnation of Feathertail as well as Jay’s Wing?
Feathertail never had any flashbacks/blackouts/odd memories or anything like that
While she was a prophecied cat, Feathertail isn’t one of the Three, and as far as we know Jay’s Wing had a normal and good life with no need for reincarnation aside from the Three.
Feathertail’s name has nothing to do with Jay’s Wing. All the reincarnated cats all have names that have something to do with the cat they were reincarnated from.
While they are both tabbies with blue eyes, they don’t have much physical similarities aside from that. Jayfeather is small, skinny, thin, and mottled, while Feathertail is slender and muscular with a plumy tail. Their eye shade differs (jay wing to sky) and Jayfeather is gray while Feathertail is silver.
I just really don’t like this theory because there’s no reason for it. It makes sense, sure, but why in the world would Feathertail, who’s been dead for ages, be needed to be the reincarnation of Jay’s Wing?
It’s really interesting though, and does have some good evidence. ^^

    • Jayfeather has pale blue eyes, the same as Feathertail just described differently. Jay’s wing is a tabby just like feathertail, Dovewing and Dove’s wing prove you can be a different shade of color because Dove’s wing is just grey, while Dovewing is smoky grey. Silver is considered white, so its on the grey scale. Like Tigerstar, I believe Jay’s wing was guiding Feathertail through small signs until they got to the big moment. In religion it is not uncommon for someone to be reborn twice. We don’t for certain that she had a second reincarnation because she may have died realizing it. And if she told Jayfeather, it would be a disruption to the main prophecy. Like I explained in the article, Feathertail had the purpose to guide the cats to their new home and save the tribe cats. Even if she wasn’t one of the three, she still had a purpose, as seen with Cinderheart. Anything is possible in a theory though. Its just a matter of well supported claims and people who believe it.

      • I hate to burst your bubble, but StarClan most likely isn’t based off any certain religion. White is not the same as gray. The small signs were given to everyone in her prophecy or not given at all. She was in another prophecy, but there’s no reason for this random cat to be reincarnated. If StarClan wanted to reincarnate a cat twice, why wouldn’t they do it on someone like Finchkit who never lived? Feathertail’s eyes are sky blue, while Jayfeather’s are jay’s wing blue.

        • I never said Feathertail was in the power of three prophecy. Just that she may be a reincarnation. Smoky grey is also not the same as grey. Also wing blue and sky blue are both the same thing. What is wing blue anyhow? What wing are they describing? Cinderpelt is a random cat, but she and feathertail had one thing in common. Both did heroic things for the sake of others, even if it wasn’t their own. Finchkit just died, and had done nothing to say to starclan, “This person needs another chance.” Don’t get me wrong, there are many cats who died nobly, but Cinderpelt couldn’t live her life to the fullest like many. Same with feathertail. Most of her warriorhood was spent in the mountains, and she never got a chance at having a mate or kits. Cinderplet is quoted, saying, “Of course. I have made good friends in all the Clans. I’ve seen kits born and watched elders leave on their final journey to Silverpelt. I’ve made the long journey to the Clans’ new home. Believe me, I wouldn’t change a single day. I know it is not in your power to give me longer with my Clan. But I can’t help wanting more.” She is clearly saying she wants another life. Same goes with your statement about it not being on one religion. You don’t know either if there can only be one reincarnation or not.

  • This makes purrfect sense because of the details and the way the cats act as well, as the way things seem to happen for jayfeather having the dreams/visions he has had about the clans.

    • Graystripe’s parents are siblings to Redtail, who is the father of Sandstorm, who is the mother of Leafpool, who is the mother of Jayfeather.

  • Cool! Actually, Jayfeather and Feathertail are more like second or third cousins once removed, but that’s kind of irrelevant, so nice theory! 🙂
