My Favorite Warrior Cats From Each Arc by Lilyflame

Lilyflame shares her favourite cats from each arc.

Ever since I started reading it in 3rd grade, Warriors has been one of my favorite series. I for sure have my favorite characters, but I can’t just pick one, so I have picked one or two from each arc that I love.

Dawn of the Clans: Gray Wing
Honorable Mentions: Thunder, Turtle Tail, Moth Flight (she wasn’t really in the arc but I loved her in the Super Edition)
When Gray Wing is first introduced in Dawn of The Clans, I emediatly fell in love with him. I have a soft spot for characters who are misunderstood, or are in someones shadow, or I can feel sorry for. I felt sorry for Gray Wing because of his struggle to find love in the earlier books. The two cats he loved both favored his brother, which just seems horrible. Not only that, but Gray Wing feels partly responsible for their deaths. Gray Wing was always a good person through and through, and never followed in his brother’s cruel foot steps. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t without his flaws. He was always doubting his decisions, but always came out right. **SPOILER WARNING FOR DOTC** His lungs becoming damaged from the fire and ultimately leading to his death made me love him even more. He didn’t deserve the suffering that fire brought him. When he died I cried for a literally an hour.

The Prophecy Begins: Firestar
Honorable Mentions: Yellowfang (I love her just as much, but Firestar holds a deeper place in my heart), Cinderpelt,
This one may seem like a cop out, but it’s so true. I love Firestar for many of the same reasons I love Gray Wing. He’s a good person and leader, but he still makes mistakes. He still has flaws. I don’t see him as a Mary Sue, though I can see why people might think of him as one. Firestar was relatable and easy to root for. When he acomplished something, I felt like a acomplished something. His character isn’t that unique, but I love him anyway.

The New Prophecy: Squirrelflight
Honorable Mentions: Mothwing, Brambleclaw
Squirrelflight was a character that was new and refreshing. We hadn’t really seen anyone like her before her arc, and when she came in I loved it. Her fiery energy and personality brought something new to the table, and though some people might have veiwed her as anoying, I veiwed her as opionated and not afraid to speak her mind. I loved how when she found out about the prophecy and the journey to sun-drown-place she would not let Brambleclaw go without her. One of the reasons I thought she was so interesting was some of her greatest character traits were also some of her greatest flaws (such as her stubbornness and being unafraid to speak her mind). Her personality was so different, which made me love reading from her persective. **SPOILER WARNING FOR TPOT** I also really liked how much she loved her sister and her adopted kits. Her motherly love and sisterly love showed us a new side of her, and showed that she wasn’t just a hotheaded she-cat, but also a caring one with a deep heart.

The Power of Three: Jayfeather
Honorable Mention: Icecloud
Jayfeather is my favorite cat out of all the warriors cats (Gray Wing is a close second). Like Squirrelflight, his character was new, even though I wouldn’t say we hadn’t seen it before (Yellowfang was kind of similar. I loved how snarky Jayfeather was, and how he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and challenge the status quo. He was basically the sass master, and I loved it. Just like Gray Wing, I also felt bad for him. He wanted to be a warrior so bad, but his blindness enabled him to do that. I was so glad that he was one of the Three, because something else I love in characters is when they turn out to be special or important. I don’t know if anyone reading this is a LZRD WZRD fan, but I love Jayfeather for the same reason he does. Can I just say that Jayfeather’s thing with the Ancients and the Tribe and Half Moon was sooooooooooooo cool. It was really interesting to read about, and my heart just broke into a billion peices when Jayfeather had to leave Half Moon and she was all I’ll wait for you forever. I love their romance. To conclude Jayfeather is the best thing ever.

Omen of The Stars: Ivypool
Honorable Mentions: just Ivypool, I really didn’t love anyone else
Ivypool always felt like she was in her sisters shadow, which was really relatable to me on a personal level. She really felt like she would never be as good as her sister, which was one of the reasons why she started training with the Dark Forest, so she would have a chance at being noticed. I always enjoy reading about characters who have the chance to become evil, but find it within themselves to overcome this and be good. When Ivypool is asked to be a spy in the Dark Forest, she agrees, and risks her life constantly to help her Clan. Ivypool was a complex character, with a bunch of flaws, but also a bunch a strengths. She was really the only character other than Jayfeather that kept me reading the Omen of the Stars, which I probably wouldn’t have finished if she didn’t exist. I liked how there wasn’t a love interest in her story, yet she was still compeling. I don’t think she needs a mate, but maybe if she found the right cat. Overall, Ivypool was a great contrast to Dovewing (who I despise), and that among other things made her an interesting character and POV.

The characters that weren’t really in an arc that I loved: Echosong, Thrushpelt (from Bluestar’s prophecy, I think that’s his name), Crookedstar, Micah

And now I would like to take a moment to apreciate the characters that found a special place in my heart. I place where the most anoying, boring, awful, and stupid characters go. Congragulations to Lionblaze and Leafpool, the most boring POVs to read from. Bluestar’s dad and Crookedstar’s mom (I can’t remember their names) who win the worst parents ever awards. And Dovewing, the most overated, boring, Mary Sue character there is. I aplaud you all.

  • I agree with Lionblaze and Leafpool when I was reading their POVs I was so tempted to skip that chapter.
    Great article!

  • Lilyflame I like your choices but DOVEWING’S NO MARY-SUE. Otherwise it was a good article. Firestar’s da best

  • Mine:
    DOTC: Gray Wing 😉
Mentions: Slate, Moth Flight, Pebble Heart, Thunder, Clear Sky, (I’m sorry, he’s just…) Storm
    Why: Same reason.

TPB: Yellowfang (After series two, she and Bluestar became stupid. They became “WE SHALL ALL DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and “YOU CAN’T EVEN PICK YOUR OWN FLEAS! YOU A MEDICINE CAT!”
    Mentions: Sandstorm, Cinderpelt, Cloudtail, gRAYSTRIPE 😋 Bluestar (Until book four 😒😿😭😶😑😩😲😖😢🤧😟😕) Tigerclaw/star, (He’s a “Bad-Guy.” 😉 ) -=Ravepaw=- Ravenpaw,
Why: She just took a special place in my heart, as she was so annoying to everyone, but felt like she could trust a random leader. When she died, (saving a elder from not-her-real-clan.) I felt like…. StarClan had punished me. (For SOMETHING.)

    TNP: Feathertail
    Mentions: Stormfur, Squirrelflight, Tallstar,
Why: She got a special place in my heart when she died saving some random group of cats. (The tribe. Too lazy too write the rest.

    TPOT: !__! I liked NOBODY. 😀 😉

    OOTS/ -=Eat your oats!=-: Ivypool and Hollyleaf
    Mentions: NONE
Why: I didn’t like any other cats 😀

    AVOF: WE SHALL WAIT >o<
Cats I like now: Twigpaw, Needletail, Violetpaw, Darktail…. (I just like the "Bad-Guys.")

P.S Dovewing is a Mary Sue.
P.SS I didn’t miss Firestar, he’s my least favorite character.
P.SSS Rainflower and Brightflower won the worst parents ever awards, and what did Stormtail do? Oh, he completely ignored his kits. And Thistleclaw won that to.

  • My ten favorite cats are Scourge because he has an amazing fashion style 😋, Hawkfrost because he has pretty eyes 😍, Tigerheart because he’s energetic like TobyMac ☺️, Squirrelflight because pretty much the same reason as Tigerheart, Bramblestar because… I actually don’t know why…, Dovewing because she’s pretty cool, Leopardstar because pretty much the same reason as Dovewing, Firestar because he’s so much like TobyMac 😍😋😊, Alderheart because he has a good personality and Mapleshade because… I don’t really know why I like her either…

  • I agree with everything on here except Moth Flight and Micah. For some reason I found them really annoying. Oh and Dovewing isn’t a Mary-sue but she’s still the most annoying brat of all time. I never found Leafpool and Lionblaze boring though.

    • Most people won’t belive I am saying this, but I actually like Dovewing. She never did anything wrong. She has flaws. It isn’t her fault that Ivypool is training in the Dark Forest. She didn’t do it intentionally.
