Medicine Cat Elections, Day 3: The Second Hustings!

Welcome back, folks! In case you missed it, we’re holding elections to find the new Medicine Cat of BlogClan, the new representative of our community! You have until the 5th July if you want to apply, so click here and sign up!

Today we’re continuing our hustings! Yesterday was a very exciting day to get the ball rolling, and today hopefully we’ll keep the momentum going!

Answering your questions today, we have Wavesplash, Rainspirit, Willowpaw and Stoatpaw! Please be as welcoming and supportive to them as possible!

Candidates may use the comments below as a space to put their campaign, and other members of BlogClan can use the comments as a space to ask questions, for example: why do candidates want this role, what do they hope to get out of it, how have they helped BlogClan, and how do they hope to change BlogClan for the better?

Just like yesterday, I really want to extend a thank you to all our candidates. You’ve done a fantastic job so far, and I think I can speak for all of BlogClan when I say we’re proud of you. And Shiv, your poster artwork is amazing, thank you so much for your commitment to the blog <3

So now, I hand the floor over to our candidates and to you, BlogClan!

Don’t be afraid to repeat questions from yesterday!

Caring, optimistic, determined

For me, BlogClan has always been a safe haven and a happy place. From the moment I first began scrolling through articles and comments to take my mind off my grandpaw’s death, I felt loved, welcomed, wanted, and needed. I’ve always done my best to in turn give new members that experience. As medicine cat, I’d do my very best to keep that going and do even more. I’m on BlogClan every single day. I’m extremely active. I’m also a member of the wiki, Discord, and Skype. As an ambassador/recruiter, which is one of the jobs of a medicine cat, I am also a member of other wikis, most notably Wings of Fire; Wattpad; Warriors, Steven Universe, Miraculous Ladybug, and Wings of Fire Aminos; and, like I just said, Skype and Discord, all under BlogClan-related names. I would use my outside connections to recruit other Warriors fans who might be interested. I’d really like to help out on BlogClan as much as I can and be there for everyone. I’ve had a pretty rough year and BlogClan has been amazing for me, and any way I can pay that back, I certainly will. When I see a new person or just someone will a question (basically Ask Jaysnow) I always try to provide a helpful answer/comment as best as I can, even if other people have gotten to it before me. But it really doesn’t seem like enough. BlogClan is a huge part of my life. I’m online every day and most of my online names stem from BlogClan. It’s a beautiful, beautiful place and I want to do everything I can to keep it that way (honestly, not that anything could ever take that away) and make it better, and being BlogClan’s medicine cat would be a great way to do so. You probably know that I love the musical Hamilton, and one amazing quote from that that I feel captures my next reason for wanting to be medicine cat is “[Legacy] is planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.” In this case, BlogClan is my garden, and the seeds I am planting are not just my legacy, what future (and present) BlogClanners will remember me by, but a way to help improve BlogClan and keep it going. Copperclaw, Dawnmist, and Silverwind, all inactive, are still remembered, by name, even by a person who only really knew Dawnmist, and even so it wasn’t for that long. But again, it’s not just about me, it’s about BlogClan. It’s not about the plant that sprouts from the seeds I plant, it’s about the garden. But by planting the seeds, I can make the garden as good as my powers allow me to. And that would be the biggest gift you could give me.

Rainspirit

Funny, friendly, welcoming

I joined BlogClan the day it moved to this site, and I have always looked at the role of medicine cat as a sort of second deputy. I’ve always respected Kat, and to take her place…. I would be incredibly lucky to have such a great position. Kat, BlogClan has been made a better place with you being here, and I hope I can have the honor of taking your place.

Willow That Travels in TARDIS (Willowpaw)

Goofy, energetic, entertaining

Although I may be unknown on BlogClan, I was well known on the warrior cat forums. I was on there for nine months and always was posting, roleplaying, and chatting. I discovered this site three years ago when I first started reading warriors. But since I first started, I’ve written tons of fanfiction, roleplayed, and taught my friends who had no clue what warriors were about it.

I think I’d be a good meddie because I could show newbies what BlogClan really is, and help people who know BlogClan really well have fun on here. Although I may just be an apprentice, I have the skills of a warrior. Thank you and I hope you vote for me!

Stoatpaw

Crazy, kind, upbeat

Hey there! I’d like to be the next Medicine Cat for a few reasons. First off, I have been a BlogClanner since August 13th, 2015, and my first name was “Snow that Blankets Hill”, and my first description was “a white she-kit with a striped belly. Her eyes are a light green color, that is similar to a cross between neon green and electric green. ” In modern day, I’m Stoatpaw, a fluffy tan tabby she-cat with pale blue eyes. It’s been almost two years since I joined BlogClan, and while I took a big hiatus for quite some time, I came back, because you can never truly leave BlogClan, you’re always a BlogClanner at heart. <3 Next up, I’m also a writer. I develop my fanfics on the Wiki first, sometimes they’re abandoned, sometimes they’re not. I’m currently focused on writing Rising Skies, about SkyClan after the cats of AVoS die. I’m almost done with the first chapter, in the POV of SkyClan apprentice Hailpaw. (Note- the name shared between fanfic Hailpaw and BlogClan Hailpaw is a coincidence.) Rising Skies can be found here: http://blogclan-2.wikia.com/wiki/Rising_Skies and the prologue was posted here on BlogClan. I abandon my fanfics a lot, but I’m sticking with Rising Skies for sure. I’m also writing Whispers from Twolegplace, a set of three novella-style stories about Nutmeg, Smoke, and Ruby from Warriors, which will be completed soon- hopefully after Rising Skies. Also, I’m an artist. I draw lots of things, from an outline of a goose to my gravatar. I mainly use FireAlpaca and sometimes Paint 3D, and the occasional usage of MS Paint and GIMP 2.8. I’m working on my realistic-style cat faces, and I also draw for fun and for fursona requests. Programs I’ve used in the past are Tayasui Sketches, Pixlr, and Sumopaint. Finally, I’m a member of a few fandoms. I love Warriors, of course, and I don’t really have a favorite arc, though A Vision of Shadows is showing promise for my favorite arc, but that’s still to be determined. My favorite TV show is Steven Universe, which airs on Cartoon Network, about a boy named Steven Universe and his caretakers, the magical Gem guardians Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. The first episodes are goofy (some are a bit unsettling), but the more recent episodes are some of my favorites. Another book series I like is Wings Of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. It’s about the dragons of Pyhrria, and the first five books are about the Dragonets of Destiny, and their journey. The first book is a bit boring, but the next four are worth reading. I haven’t read the Jade Mountain Prophecy books yet, so I can’t say much about them yet. 😛 I hope to be your next medicine cat, and I wish the best of luck to my fellow candidates for the elections! 🙂

    • The medicine cat has to be kind and supportive, and be welcoming and friendly to all members, new and old. They, ideally, should be mature and responsible, so as not to get involved in any drama and be able to stop it if necessary, and overall be a friendly face. 🙂 (But unless they’re already a mod, they don’t become one because of the position, so they don’t have any special duties or anything. 🙂 )

      • The medicine cat is also an ambassador of BlogClan in many ways. They welcome new members, invite people to BlogClan, welcome back returning members from hiatuses of multiple lengths, and communicate BlogClan’s needs, wants, and ideas to the BlogTeam, as well as helping to make those happen. 🙂

        • I know. I felt most of the things you said were kind of a given by being welcoming and friendly. 😛 But either way, they have to be an all-around good friend and a positive, supportive person. 😀

          • Oh 😛 that, for me, is one of the most important parts of the job, so I wanted to slip that in there. And yeah, and that’s awesome because I feel like all candidates fit that description 😀
