Cometpaw lists some of the Super Editions from worst to best.

Hey, BlogClan! I, Cometpaw, the one you thought only wrote fanfics, am writing a fan article because I finally found the Submit Article button after two months of searching. 😒
So here we go!
The Super Editions: Worst to Best
#9. Firestar’s Quest.
I know opinions on Firestar is kind of split in two in the fandom- the people that love him, and the people that hate him. Sorry, Firestar fans, I’m with the people that hate him. I just saw him as nothing more than a Mary-Sue after The Prophecies Begin, and since this was after TPB he just wasn’t a fun character to read anymore. Enough Firestar-bashing- the biggest reason I didn’t like this one was because it had too much journeying and not enough Clan life, which is why I read Warriors in the first place.
#8. Bramblestar’s Storm.
I was really excited for this book to come out.
I really was.
Like really, really excited.
Then, my mom banned me from reading Warriors for a year (right before it came out), which was… fun.
And then, when I actually got around to reading it, it was a major disappointment.
Remember what I said about Firestar being a formerly good character? Same goes for Bramblestar. He was great in TNP and POT because of his stuggle between being loyal to Tigerstar and being loyal to Firestar. After he got his nine lives he just… deflated. He became a shallow character and a Firestar II.
Also, “LOL MISTYSTAR MY DAUGHTER I’M SO PROUD OF UUUUUUUUUU”
#7. SkyClan’s Destiny.
I don’t hate SkyClan- not at all. I really like Leafstar but the thing that bothered me about this book, like FQ, was the lack of Clan life. It was all “OMSC, ROUGES OOOOOOOOOOO” and the rogues themselves were stupid. But the one thing that really ruined it for me were the names. Billystorm? REALLY?
#6. Moth Flight’s Vision.
I didn’t hate MFV. Not by a long shot. When I first started reading the book I fell in love with Moth Flight because I can relate to her on so many levels. But as time went on, Moth Flight’s little self-discovery whatever became more and more unrealistic. It’s NOT THAT EASY for someone who’s hated by the general public to make friends as quickly as Moth Flight did *coughcoughMicahcough*. I’ve tried to make it easy. it’s not that easy.
#5. Tallstar’s Revenge.
I have a lot of bad things to say about this one, but you’re probably wondering why I put it so high in the list if I hate it, so I’m going to tell you why. I put it so far up because I’m VERY happy that we got a backstory for Tallstar. He’s a great character and I’m glad we were able to explore his motives some more, and this book did a great job of it, I think. It also had an intriguing plot, with Sandgorse’s death and Talltail’s desire for vengeance on Sparrow. I know what that kind of anger feels like. I also know what it feels like to have to hide your true goals and what makes you happy from your parents. Now on to the cons. Just like FQ, there was too much journeying. I know that’s not a real flaw, it’s just my personal preference. I also feel like the runner/tunnler rift is just an excuse to get the Tall/Sand rift going as well. Also, I hate Jake.
#4. Hawkwing’s Journey.
The newest SE, right in the middle of the list. I won’t rant about the journeying, I’m sure you already know I hate that. Overall, this book was great. Hawkwing was a solid character (one of the only non-Sues). The torn loyalties were great (Cloudmist and Cherrytail staying with Barley and a bunch of others staying at the gorge.) No forbidden relationships, and when Pebbleshine *spoilers ahead!* got carried away by the monster I knew that was going to be how Violetpaw and Twigpaw came to be. I have no complaints about this one.
#3. Bluestar’s Prophecy.
I do not have enough good things to say about this book. Bluestar is awesome, and she went through so much and still acted like she was grieving the whole time! Way more realistic than I expected. Bluestar’s not a Mary-Sue and I love that about her. Snow/Thistle was a nice touch. Actually one of my favorite ships. *dodges tomatoes.* But this might be biased because this was the first SE I ever read.
#2. Yellowfang’s Secret.
Yes, I know I’ll get a lot of controversy on this one because a lot of people hate this book. Why? Is it just because of Yellow/Ragged? WELL I LIKE YELLOW/RAGGED! *dodges more tomatoes*. Controversy aside I also like it because of Yellowfang’s reluctance to becoming a medicine cat. Most of the time it’s all “HA YAH ILL BECOME UR APPRENTICE LOOK I MEMORIZED MY URBS GIMME A NAME NOW PLZ”. Yellowfang wasn’t like that. I also liked the ending. When I was younger I hated it because It Wasn’t Happy. Now I like it because it ties in with Into the Wild to well and gives Yellowfang’s perspective on that scene.
#1. Crookedstar’s Promise.
You all saw it coming, I know you did. Crookedstar’s Promise is AMAZING. Not only did it take place in RiverClan but Crookedstar’s journey to self-acceptance is funny, heartwarming… and had great fight scenes. The protagonists were lovable and the antagonists were fun to hate. May you burn in the Dark Forest eternally, Rainflower. Plus, I loved how everything tied in with BP. This was by far the best Super Edition of them all.
I dare you to better, Tigerheart.

So there you go… my ranking! What do you guys think? Which SE was your favorite? Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe! 😛
~Cometpaw the Musical
Crookedstar’s Promise is my favourite too. 😀 Nice article 🙂
The prime reason, I think, as you do, for people viewing Firestar as a ‘sue’ is because his arc (The Prophecies Begin) ended, and once done, it’s difficult to reinvent his character further. Similar with Bramblestar, they simply ran out of plots for him to follow. Unlike you, though, I don’t think either of them are ‘perfect characters’. Nevertheless, I understand your reasons for saying that they are. In my opinion, Firestar’s, arguably, obsession with helping each and every Clan resulted in both him and ThunderClan being viewed in a highly hostile fashion for their willingness to constantly interfere with the other Clans. Firestar too often chased a perfect world, but I am of the belief his character is far from perfect. He is, though, admittedly viewed as a God-like figure with what he did in the first series, and the reactions of the characters around him is most likely another reason for people believing him to be a ‘sue’.
Still, a very good article. 🙂 I always enjoy reading those where I’m able to write a good-length response to what has been written.
Holy CARP my article finally got published… yay!
Yellowfang’s secret is my favorite SE I love Yellowfang!!
You don’t like Jake? 😮 HOW DARE YOU.
Nah, but what’s so bad about Tallstar’s Revenge? It’s probably my joint-favourite book, next to Crookedstar’s Promise. Mostly because of TallJake, but eh.
I agree with you on a couple things. I don’t like Jake, and I think SnowxThistle was a good ship, I don’t know why so many people hate it.
But honestly, Bluestar’s Prophecy is my least favorite. Bluestar seemed really whiny in that one. I can understand her grief for (spoiler alert) Moonflower and giving up her kits and stuff, but seriously? The whole book was like “oh, moonflower dies. Blue is really upset oh, look another death OH NOES OH NO POOR KITS OH NO.” she barely did anything but whine and mourn, and I don’t like BluexThrush but BluexOak was so unrealistic and out-of-the-Blue (ha, I didn’t even mean to do that) I used to like Blue, but after she didn’t trust her Clan and now THIS book, she seems like a big whiner. It happened to a lot of cats- Crookedstar suffered a lot, as did Tallstar and Brokenstar (with Lizardstripe and having no real mother) None of them acted like Bluestar.
Yellowfang’s Secret is my favorite. I don’t know why you would put it second. It was sad, and while I don’t like YellowxRagged I felt bad for Yellow because of Foxheart. There was some reality for once when her kits were born dead (that should happen more often) and it was overall a good book. I like the Brokenkit stuff there, I feel bad for Yellow cause of that. Loved the ending, too, only was a bit unrealistic. Yellow should’ve been able to defeat an apprentice despite everything going on.
Also, like the new perspective on ShadowClan. They aren’t all evil.
Crookedstar’s Promise is my second favorite, fyi.
Wow!! You did great you really caught my attention the whole time! I agree with you on almost everything except for Tallstars revenge that was one of my favorites and for once I didn’t mind all of the journeying( uasally I don’t like it a whole lot) and I actually like jake even though I’m not huge for Firestar. Also Crookedstars promise is my favorite to!
I can agree pretty much on all those ranks (especially how I get annoyed with traveling too which is why I didn’t like the first couple books of TNP) and the first SE I read was Bluestar’s Prophecy as well, but I would have put that as my first. Great article! It definitely explains all the opinions that can be made on the SEs!
I got a bit bored with the first books of TNP as well!!! I don not like traveling!! I like having my map and knowing where and what everything is. When they travel I get completely turned around. Especially in Twolegplaces!!! (If you can believe that)
Nice Article! And here’s my opinions:
9: Skyclan’s Destiny
8. Firestar’s Quest
7.Bluestar’s Prophecy
6. Bramblestar’s Storm
5. Tallstar’s Revenge
4. Crookedstar’s Promise
3. Yellowfang’s Secret
2. Moth Flight’s Vision
1. Hawkwing’s Journey
I hate RaggedXYellow, but yet I actually enjoyed Yellowfang’s Secret. Maybe it’s because Shadowclan, maybe because Yellowfang, or maybe because I liked Foxheart and Russetfur.
I HATE FOXHEART…LOOK AT HER AME AND SNIVELING PERSONALITY
Agree
I think Moth Flight’s Vision is the absolute best, followed by Hawkwing’s Journey, Bramblestar’s Storm, Bluestar’s Prophecy and the others which I’m too lazy to list.
But great article!
Great article! Personally I totally agree about MFV. Her whole medicine car journey was ENTIRELY to easy. I would have liked it much better if StarClan didn’t “split the sky” so quickly so she could have some time to think about what it is like to *GASP* be wrong about something and just have a challenge for once. When Moth Flight was going to take Wind Runner to the moonstone one character (I forget who) said “has Moth Flight ever been wrong before? No”. Like it’s not good that she never had any challenge!!!
Sorry for the long rant
Wouldn’t you say that having her mother doubt and yell st her for multiple failures at hunting for the first year or so of her life and thinking her Clan is better off without her, then losing her beloved mate and (debatably) having to give up her kits count as challenges? Not to mention having pretty much no cat listen to her when she wants to solve things peacefully with SkyClan, resulting in Acorn Fur not being trained and a kit dying when Moth Flight desperately wanted to save him.
I’m quite sure that character was Dust Muzzle. Unless I’m horribly mistaken.
CROOKEDSKARZ PROMAOSE my fave as well I <3 CrookedXWillow ship!
I actually can’t say anything on this really since I haven’t read any of them expect I am part way through Moth Flight’s Vision. This edition is okay. I’m sure though that Crookedstar’s Promise is the best (I have it but haven’t read it yet). I read a bit of Firestar’s Quest and I am one of those who like Firestar. I was so happy when I started it and it took me back to the days when he was an apprentice. I missed his perspective and it felt good to read him again (I got this book for my friend’s birthday which is why I only read a few chapters).
