Today, I’ll be analyzing the pros and cons of mates who loved the same cat. Yes. I have unpopular opinions sometimes.
GRAYSTRIPE – MILLIE VS. SILVERSTREAM
SILVERSTREAM
Pros –
Saved Graystripe from drowning
Matched his personality
Was a kind and loving she-cat who protected and watched her kits from the stars
Cons
Different Clan, which means breaking the warrior code
Distracted Graystripe from everyday ThunderClan life
MILLIE
Pros –
Saved him from dogs
Helped him find a way back to ThunderClan
Been with him longer
Cons –
Bad mother
Graystripe didn’t pay much attention to her, which makes it seem like he didn’t love her as much
Made Blossomfall and Bumblestripe neglected, and was the cause of Blossomfall training in the DF
Don’t get mad at me…. but I think Silverstream wins! Sparktooth, you don’t have to write a Millie-support paragraph again 😉
BERRYNOSE – HONEYFERN VS POPPYFROST
HONEYFERN
Pros –
The cat who made Berrynose show his kind side
His first love(I’m including this here because everyone thought he was an obnoxious jerk, and, well, they still do, but they didn’t see his good side)
Cons –
None?
POPPYFROST
Pros –
Bore him kits
Healed his heart
Cons –
Honeyfern’s sister and Berrynose’s second love, which looks fishy for Berrynose
Looks like a substitute for Honeyfern, as Berrynose mated with her basically days after Honeyfern’s death
Honeyfern wins. Yes, this is an unpopular opinion, but I can’t say that I wasn’t upset when Berrynose got Honeyfern’s SISTER PREGNANT SO SOON AFTER HONEYFERN DIED SERIOUSLY I CANT STAND IT.
Anyways….
CLEAR SKY – BRIGHT STREAM VS STORM VS STAR FLOWER
BRIGHT STREAM
Pros –
Let him show is loving side
Made him seem happy
His heart broke so bad when she died, which was a pivoting point for him, which shows how much he loved her
Cons –
Died? IDK
STORM
Pros –
Gave him a new chance for a mate
Bore him a kit(that he didn’t care about wut)
Cons –
Didn’t really like him anymore afte what he did, something that he deserved
STAR FLOWER
Pros –
Gave him a chance for a real family and redemption
Healed him sort of
Cons –
Dated his DARN SON WTH
Very fishy cat
Overall, I’d say Bright Stream wins. OKAY DON’T KILL ME PLEASE!!!!! BUT I HATE STAR FLOWER AND THINK THAT STORM IS BETTER OFF WITHOUT HIM….

BLUESTAR – TRUSHPELT VS. OAKHEART
TRUSHPELT
Pros –
Cared for her even after he realized she didn’t love him back
Was a kind and good cat
Cons –
It was fishy how he was all, “Oh I’ll be their father in ThunderClan.”
Bluestar didn’t love him back
OAKHEART
Pros –
Bluestar’s true love
Hated the fact that they could only be together for one night
Raised his kits as loyal RiverClanners
Cons –

My opinions on who is the better mate for each of the ones you listed:
Millie vs Silver: One guess who XD.
Honey vs Poppy: Honeyfern all the way
I haven’t read DOTC, so I don’t have opinions on Clear Sky ships.
Thrush vs Oak: OAK!

– I like Silver, but it will be interesting when we see Greystripe, Millie, and Silverstream meet in StarClan.
-Honey and Poppy… I like Poppy, but also Honey. It’s so hard!!! I’m neutral on this one.
-Clear Sky and Star Flower and Bright Stream… I don’t like Star Flower, so she’s out. Bright Stream died so… I guess that leaves Storm…
– Bluestar and Thrushpelt and Oakheart.. I like Oakheart, I was so sad when he died, after I realized who he was.

Here are my opinions:
Graystripe-I like both, but I prefer GrayxMillie because I loved the manga, and their relationship seems to be more developed.
Berrynose-I don’t really know much about either of them. They’re all pretty minor characters, so I guess I like both 😛
I haven’t read Dawn of the Clans 😛
Bluestar-Oakheart, but I do like Thrushpelt because he’s much better than Ashfur and Bumblestripe (Bumblestripe isn’t really that bad, but he was too upset with Dovewing when she made it clear she didn’t like him as more than a friend, while Thrushpelt stood by Bluestar and accepted that she didn’t like him as more than a friend.)
Graystripe – It’s a pity that SilverXGray got almost zero on-screen time.
I agree on Trushpelt, though!
Nice article! I really don’t have opinions on those ships, but this is as far as I’ll go:
#1: I’d choose Silverstream because I don’t know that much about Millie (I really haven’t read that many Warriors books, haha)
#2: I’d choose Honeyfern because mating with someone’s sister after they died just sounds awful.
#3: IDK? No one? 😛 Cause I haven’t read DotC except for the first 100 pages of The Sun Trail, and Gray Wing loved Bright Stream too, I think.
#4: I would say Oakheart because Bluestar didn’t love Thrushpelt.
Oooooh, I like this article! Here’s my opinion:
1 — I like Silverstream better than Millie, just because I know more about her, but I think if Graystripe had to choose he’d choose Millie (since they’ve been together a lot longer at this point). But personally I believe that once Graystripe and Millie got to StarClan they’ll all be able to co-exist happily.
2 — Poppyfrost, actually. I agree that it was kind of sketchy for Berrynose to move on so quickly, but he was really young at the time (he’d be like, 18ish if he was a human) and was only mates with Honeyfern for a moon or so, compared to his relationship with Poppyfrost which has lasted for the majority of both their lives.
3 — Bleh. Honestly I don’t think Clear Sky deserves a mate. Bright Stream, Storm, and Star Flower are better off without him.
4 — I’m not sure? I really love Thrushpelt, but Bluestar didn’t like him more than a friend, although I don’t think she really loved Oakheart either since they didn’t become mates again in StarClan. I think Bluestar’s happy on her own 🙂
I’d say that Bluestar and Oakheart kept it at alone-time mates, just to not attract so much attention.
Right, but imagine if Honeyfern had stayed alive. Does anyone honestly think he would have mated with Poppyfrost?
For me, I’d say:
Millie VS Silverstream: I’ve already said my opinion on this multiple times.
Honeyfern VS Poppyfrost: I prefer Poppyfrost as Berrynose’s mate slightly more because we got to see more of them, but I still like HoneyXBerry.
Bright Stream VS Storm VS Star Flower: I actually liked Star Flower, so IMO I prefer StarXSky. We barely saw Bright Stream at all so I don’t have much of an opinion on her other than I feel bad for her, Skystar, and her kits. Storm and Skystar weren’t exactly the best couple.
Thrushpelt VS Oakheart: Not really a huge fan of either. Thrushpelt was sweet, but he wasn’t exactly the best cat for Bluestar (And I also prefer ThrushXRose). I never really saw Oakheart and Bluestar as mates because it happened really quick. Don’t hate it though.

OK, my opinions:
1. Millie because Silverstream was so stuck up and GrayxSilver was so rushed. And also Millie was not a bad mother anyway, and we don’t actually see Graystripes relationship with Millie in the Clan because they’re not main characters so yeah.
2. No real opinion on Berrynose and his mates.
3. Probably Bright Stream as I hate Star Flower and Storm dumped him.
4. Thrushpelt. (Ducks flying chairs). I just don’t like Oakheart for how obnoxious he is and I have a thing about cats breaking the code, it always makes my cringe.😛(Call me Hollyleaf). And plus, Thrushpelt was much sweeter about it, and probably deserved her more even though she didn’t love him back. How is Thurshplet fishy?

1. Silverstream, because I just like her personality more. Graystripe would probably pick Millie, though, who I don’t hate (after reading Sparktooth’s article)
2. Honeyfern, because he just immediately went for her sister and she seemed kind and brave
3. Star Flower, because she actually changed Clear Sky for the better.
4. I love them both! They’re two of my favorite cats; I can’t choose!

It seems like there are a lot of other people who support Silverstream x Graystripe, and that really baffles me. First of all, their relationship was young love at first sight; both of those attributes are infamous for ‘un-true’ love. Also, Millie and Graystripe’s relationship was much more developed: they bonded because they had to go through a long, hard journey together, similar to Bramblestar and Squirrelflight. Even if Millie was not the greatest mother in the world, I believe that her love for Graystripe (and vice versa) was true… but that’s just my opinion.
I agree. We see less GraystripeXMillie because Graystripe isn’t a major character anymore. We saw GraystripeXSilverstream because he was the main characters best friend and one of the major focuses of the series. The series has moved on, and Graystripe is more minor now.

Where did Graystripe help her or his family, ever? In addition, I disagree that GrayXMillie had less on-screen time. They had a whole manga and GrayXSilver got nothing but Fireheart’s disapproving POV.
Yeah! I think that’s probably the reason so many people hate Silver X Gray.
If we saw Graystripe & Silverstream’s relationship from a positive light- such as from Silverstream or Graystripe’s point of view- I think a lot of Gray X Silver haters would rethink their hate!
