Why Shadowclan SHOULD Be Disbanded (Darkest Night and Tigerheart’s Shadow Spoilers) by Freespirit

Shadowclan. The ‘evil’ clan. The one which all of the other clans hate and are scared of. Tall Shadow’s creation. It is one of the most interesting clans as whenever they are portrayed, they are usually the antagonist. I mean, think about it!

In TOS (the original series! None of this Prophecies begin nonsense!) Shadowclan was the ultimate evil prior to Bloodclan.

This clan is bad, apparently. But it’s not evil. In what I call, Star Clans The Old Clans, the clan was RESPECTED for being different. While it was still a bit aggresive, the clan had its own history and traditions. It was an actual clan! I love my Headcannon EU where Shadowclan is considered to be dark and cold, but not evil. All of this changed during Yellowfang’s Secret when Raggedstar’s son, Brokenstar became leader.

Brokenstar was evil. He turned the clan away from it’s glory days and twisted it into an embodiment of corruption. After he was forcefully removed from power ) the clan never truly recovered. It began to suffer under Nightstar’s leadership, for he was too weak to lead. And then Tigerstar came and destroyed the clan again. Under Blackstar, it recovered a bit, but since clans seem to have a habit of appointing terrible deputies (imagine Sharpclaw as Skyclan’s leader.) Rowanstar’s leadership was weak and fraught with difficulties, leaving a scattered clan and Tigerstar the Second to pick up the pieces. But should he?

I think he shouldn’t.

While Shadowclan has been around since the dawn, recent difficulties have caused it too collapse. It’s history of being a bit colder was turned to being evil, it’s surviving cats being defiant and far too proud to lead. And Rowanstar’s last act was to destroy the clan. Everything is against it returning. Including me. Here is why.

1 There isn’t enough Territory! The lake area is far too small to fit 3 clans that use trees too hunt. Riverclan and Windclan haven’t given up any Territory to compensate. Sadly, Territory is important, and without it the cats can’t hunt. If Shadowclan is too weak to hold onto it’s Territory, Skyclan can do a much better job.

2 SKYCLAN is there! Skyclan And Shadowclan are both small weak clans. If they combine like they have in Darkest Night, then both clans will over many moons be far greater then they were before. Maybe even change the name to something else and recall Shadow and Sky in memoriam. Maybe Freeclan or Spiritclan or Freespiritclan.! Joking aside, there are many great clan idea names this fandom has come up with. Or just call it Shadowskyclan or Skyshadowclan.

3 The Erin’s made Shadowkit. SHADOWkit. The Erin’s don’t make Thunderkit or Riverkit or Windkit or Skykit. It’s not done, probably as it would be confusing to the reader. So why introduce Shadowkit now, if not foreSHADOWing Shadowclan’s ultimate demise.

So those are the three reasons that Shadowclan should be disbanded. Maybe in the future something will happen, but their is no reason for Shadowclan to live. Tigerstar the Second should take over for Leafstar, if they would kill her off. But Shadowclan has failed. A shadow cannot afford to be lightened. When light chases it away, it is scattered. Only if they remove the light will the shadow return. But shadow needs a bit of light to make it. Too much and it’s scattered. This is what is happening with Shadowclan. Too much light has come. Shadowclan would need the death of another clan to survive. If this doesn’t happen, then Shadowclan will be destroyed, like it should be.
