Lessons Warriors has taught me by Sparktooth

Sparktooth shares lessons that the books have taught them over the years.

Long time no see, bloggers! It is I, Sparktooth, here with a cool article (cause all my articles are cool, right? 😛 ). Today I’m gonna be sharing some of the lessons that the some characters of Warriors have taught me. There are more than just these characters, so I’m probably going to make a part 2. But I’m not certain.

I know this is still a series about cats, but looking closer, we can see real life problems and lessons reflected in these books. 🙂

Always do the right thing, even if no one is watching. (Cinderpelt)
This is a very important one to me. This is a lesson you can get when Cinderpelt decided to help Littlecloud and Whitethroat with their illness after Bluestar turned them away. She didn’t do this to be recognized, she just knew it was the right thing to do, even at the risk of getting sick herself. The world would be a much better place if everyone helped each other just out of kindness, with no intention of being recognized or expecting something back.

Sometimes you have to travel the world to find who you truly are. (Tallstar)
I still don’t know who I truly am, and I don’t think anyone does when they’re still a teenager like me 😛 . Tallstar also traveled to find the cat who murdered his father, but he learned who he was while traveling out there with Jake. My older sister is currently traveling the world too, it’s part of her job, but it’s also her finding who she is, from what she’s told me. My older sister reminds me a lot of Tallstar, who doesn’t let borders trap her in. Seeing the world is important. Traveling is something I want to do when I’m older.

We’re all stronger if we work together, in peace. (Firestar)
This is a lesson that all the leaders of countries around the world should learn. Working together instead of pointlessly fighting would solve so many of our world’s problems. If we just learned to let go of hate. Could you imagine how much better the USA would be if Firestar was president? He would negotiate peace, like he does in the books. This is something important that everyone should realize.

Blood doesn’t determine who your family is, loyalty does. (Barley & Ravenpaw, Tallstar & Jake, etc).
You’re family may be related to you by blood, but for some people that doesn’t make them feel like family. This isn’t the case for me, I’m lucky to have a great family. However, some people do face serious and abusive problems in their family. But sometimes your family is someone close to you, like a friend, as long as you’re both there for each other.

Looks aren’t the important thing. (Crookedstar, Cinderpelt, Briarlight, etc).
Looks. A lot of people tend to judge people off their appearance, which is not okay at all. Characters like Crookedstar, his injured jaw didn’t change his personality, he was still a nice person. This shows that looks don’t reflect who you are inside. Irl, it isn’t always with disabilities, sometimes it’s with how you dress. I’m a big tomboy, so I wear a lot of “boys’ clothes,” which I guess in my school was a bad thing. That shouldn’t be the case.

Don’t follow others just because they tell you to. (Bramblestar)
Bramblestar shows us this lesson, by showing so much self-control when things happen in his life, things he can’t control. The major factor is Tigerstar constantly trying to get him to join the Dark Forest. Brambleclaw can’t control what Tigerstar’s doing, or if Hawkfrost is following him. He chooses to follow the right path, and help his Clan. Irl, this can be compared to negative peer pressure, like kids trying to convince you to do things you know is wrong. Instead of following them, follow Bramblestar’s example. You’ll be the one laughing later.

If you have a dream, something you want to do with your life, go out and make it come true. (Rusty/Firestar)
I’ll be ending the article on this one, which in my opinion is the most important life lesson in the series. I know it’s another one from Firestar, but he’s just a good character to learn from. Rusty didn’t want to be stuck with his Twolegs, he dreamed of being a Warrior. If he had played it safe, waited in his fence for his dream to come to him, he would’ve never been anything but a kittypet.
I’ll use myself and BlogClan as a real life example. I want to be an author, so I’m working for it. I’ve published articles on BlogClan, I’ve written over 100 pages in my story. I’m going to work hard to get it published, not wait for someone to come by and be like “hey, gotta story you’d publish?” Your dreams will never just come to you, you have to come to them. Rusty shows us to Carpe Diem while we still can.
