Silverfire shares their top 10 favourite characters from the series. Do you like any of these felines?
Hi! I’m Silverfire and I’m new here, although I’ve been reading Warriors for a long time. This is my first article, so I’m very sorry if it isn’t good!
Today, I will be talking about my 10 favourite warriors. Spoilers ahead for pretty much all of the books!
I really love Alderheart. He is such a unique character, and one that we haven’t really seen before in any of the books.
He’s a really relatable character to me, since he’s so anxious, and so am I! It’s really nice to see a character who’s so much like me in the books.
What’s there to say about Jayfeather? He’s grumpy, sarcastic, but also has a good side, and he clearly cares a lot about his work as a medicine cat. Many people find him annoying, but I find these traits really funny. He always seems to have a comeback for everything! At least we know he definitely has flaws.
I can feel all of the hate coming at me now…. yes, Onestar was a jerk, but as Onewhisker, he was friendly. If I’m being honest though, I enjoyed him as a complex and morally grey character when he was Onestar. Back when he was a warrior, he was really minor, and didn’t seem to have much depth to him. But as Onestar, I can appreciate him as a VERY flawed character, even if I think he has a horrible personality.
I know a lot of people are probably going to disagree with me. Again, I love Crowfeather as a complex, deep, and flawed character. (Yes, I know you’re all sensing a pattern here.) I loved Crowfeather’s super edition, and how he tried to fix his relationship with Breezepelt and Nightcloud. Best of all, I loved how he acknowledged that he was flawed and made mistakes, and how he didn’t make excuses.
I’m probably going to get SO much hate for this article…… but here I am going ahead with it. I have seen so many people hate on Leafpool and just be really….. awful about it. People say Leafpool is poorly written, that she’s a Mary Sue…. and I just have to disagree with it. Leafpool messed up! A lot! I’m pretty sure she even admits it herself! Leafpool is another one of those characters that I relate to personally. Her personality reminds me a lot of mine. You can hate her if you want; you are completely entitled to your own opinion, but I love her.
I’ve just recently started rereading The New Prophecy, and I have to say, I love Stormfur. Way more than I did before, actually. He’s just so underrated and underappreciated! I felt so sorry for him when he was being kept prisoner by the Tribe. I love the Tribe of Rushing Water, but keeping Stormfur prisoner was pretty unfair. Of course Stormfur isn’t without his flaws, and I love him because of that.
This is another pretty unpopular opinion, but I love Dovewing. Way more than Ivypool, in fact.(I think Ivypool is overrated, but that’s for another article.) Dovewing is NOT a Mary Sue. She most definitely has her share of flaws, and, in my opinion, is both underrated and overhated by the fandom. So many people hate her and her relationship with Tigerheart. While I may not like Tigerheart much anymore, I really like their relationship.
Hollyleaf is so complex and morally grey… I love her. In the beginning of Power of Three, I did find her obsession with the Warrior Code a bit grating, but I began to really appreciate the direction this was taken in for her character. I love how straightlaced she was at the beginning of the Power of Three, and eventually, how she completely broke down into a mess. Hollyleaf is just such a complex character, and she is so flawed, but still tries to do the right thing, even when the “right thing” is actually very wrong.
Silverstream was always one of my absolute favourite characters, and I still love her now. So many people call her a Mary Sue, but she has more flaws than most people realize. People also call her spoiled and bratty, and I have to agree. In fact, that is part of the reason why I love her! Even though she’s a pretty minor character, she has LOTS of flaws. Yes, she is spoiled, bratty, and stuck up, but that just makes me like her more.
And finally, number one…..
I LOVE Bluestar. She is so complex, flawed, she does things that are morally questionable….(Seriously, are you starting to see a trend?) I loved her super edition, and how she wasn’t really likeable or perfect or anything. To me, it just made her downfall in the original series all the stronger. She had to sacrifice so much for leadership and respect, and was so sad! Her life was so depressing. I’m actually surprised she didn’t completely break down sooner. She really tried her best.
And that concludes my article! Feel free to agree, disagree, (or completely hate me) in the comments below.
See you hopefully soon, and may StarClan light your path!
