Theory on the longevity of some warriors + Name my Kit! by Caroline

Caroline shares an interesting theory on the lives of some characters from the series.

Hey Blogclan, I’ve never posted before but I stumbled upon this little idea, and now I think I have a full-blown theory. Others have mentioned that some cats have been around for what seems to be an impossibly long life span for warriors who face death in some form or another nearly every season. In particular, I am talking about Mistystar, Graystripe, and Millie. Leafpool, Cloudtail, Brightheart, and Gorsetail are all also part of this theory. However, they have not outlived every clanmate of the same age like the others. As most of you will recall, in the new prophecy arc some warriors are trapped by Twolegs when they are destroying the forest territories. Mistystar, who at this point is still Mistyfoot, gets caught by the two legs when she is chasing Gorsetail off of RiverClan territory because he is stealing prey. She is caught in a trap, and we only know this from Leafpaw’s point of view. We never see the scene from Mistyfoot, so it is possible that the Twolegs took her anywhere else or she was treated by a Twoleg. That is where my theory for how she has lived so long comes in. While she does have her nine lives, she was born before or around the time Firestar was born and she shows no sign of her age. Many organizations dedicated to helping feral cat populations volunteer to administer vaccines to captured cats. A typical vaccine that is used is called FVRCP. It prevents three potentially deadly airborne viruses: rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia. Some of the of these viruses have symptoms that are similar to whitecough and greencough. I think that Mistystar, Graystripe, Millie, and maybe even Leafpool, Brightheart, and Cloudtail received this vaccine, resulting in a much stronger immune system when compared to the average clan cat. This would explain why they are still around. I personally hope this is true, and that while the Erin Hunters may never actually mention it, it gives a good underlying reason to keep some of my favorite clan cats around for many seasons to come! So that was my theory, and now I have a question to ask Blogclan. I just adopted a four moon old gray tabby tom! While his Twoleg name is Sterling, I would love to hear your ideas for my little warrior’s Clan name!

(Embix’s edit: Sterling is so cute. My contribution is Slatetail.)
