Hawthornclaw connects some characters in Warriors to older and popular songs from our own world.
Hi Everyone! It’s Hawthornclaw here with my third article! Today I will be relating warriors to older songs (So 80s music and stuff)! I hope everyone loves it!
So, the first one is one I’ve been thinking of for a long time. And it is this:
Ashfur singing Jessie’s Girl By Rick Springfield, or Brambleclaw’s she-cat
So here’s a few lyrics that fit perfectly:
Brambleclaw’s a friend. Yeah I know he’s been a good friend of mine. But lately something’s changed it ain’t hard to define Brambleclaw got himself a mate and I wanna make her mine. ‘Cause she’s watching him with those eyes, and she’s running through the clan with him I just know it, and they’re hunting for fresh kill late late at night. You know I wish that I had Brambleclaw’s she cat, I wish that I had Brambleclaw’s she cat. Where can I find a she cat like that?
Now I’m skipping to the reprise:
When I look in the river all the time, wondering what she don’t see in me, I’ve been funny I’ve been cool with the lines, ain’t that the way love’s supposed to be?
Ok, so that’s that’s that. As you all know, I am a Graystripe lover. So, every one of my articles must have something about Graystripe or the Graystripe and Silverstream ship. So here’s mine for this article:
Graystripe singing Against the Wind by Bob Sieger. Or Against the Current.
Seems like yesterday. But it was moons ago. Silverstream was lovely she was the queen of my night. I don’t know the next lyrics. Then it’s this: Against the current. We were running against the current. We were young and strong we were running against he current. Then it’s the next verse: The moons rolled slowly passed. And I found my self alone. Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends, I found myself further and further from my home.I guess I lost my way. There are oh so many clans. more and more lyrics until this: Those young warrior moons are passed me now. I’ve got so much more to think about. Hunting patrols and duties. What to leave in, what to leave out. Against the current. I’m still running against the current I’m older now but still running against the current. I feel like a lot of Bob Seiger’s songs fit Graystripe.
Ok, now for our next one:
Summer of ’69 is Firestar sing about his first year in the clan. The Greenleaf of Apprentices
I got to move t the forest. Bluestar had told me to. I was so excited then. It was the Greenleaf of Apprenticeship. Me and some guys from my clan, wanted to become warriors and tried real hard. Ravenpaw quit, Graystripe got Silverstream, should of known we’d never get far.
So that’s the end of my article! Tell me in the comments if you want a part 2!
