Welcome to my first article!
Here we shall look at how deep Hawkfrost’s final act of attempting to murder Firestar goes!
It can go as deep as being Adderfang’s fault.
Adderfang? What?
So, Hawkfrost was motivated by Tigerstar. He became more vicious and ambitious as he became to know what Tigerstar did. He was so sweet and innocent in Sasha and Tigerstar! He didn’t even act like Tigerkit! He was just the same as Tadpole. Which means that his father must be the one who motivated him.
After learning more about his father (some time between Sasha and Tigerstar and Dawn, I think), he started becoming a little more “I’m going to become evil!” and stuff. After he started visiting Tigerstar and chatting with Brambleclaw, he started becoming REALLY “I’m going to be the least innocent and the most evil cat ever!” and stuff. So it looks like Tigerstar is to blame.
But why Adderfang and not Tigerstar?
We hopefully all know that Thistleclaw is Tigerstar’s mentor. The worst decision ever. So, Tigerstar was ambitious, yes, but why?
Well, Tigerstar was planning on being the best warrior ever since the moment he was born. But a few things lead up to Tigerstar going from “I’m the best kit!” to “I’m going to lead all the clans and kill everyone in my way!” And the main thing that changed this was Thistleclaw, which you saw coming.
So, Thistleclaw trained in the dark forest and trained Tigerstar (at the time Tigerpaw) in some of these ways. He taught Tigerpaw stuff like, “No cat is to trespass on our territory!” and “Bluefur is the worst!” This is shown when Tigerpaw injures Scourge. He sides with his mentor and shows no mercy. Pinestar’s rejection and Goosefeather’s yelling were minor factors, but Thistleclaw is the main one.
Thistleclaw.
Oh, the worst cat ever.
And his ambitious mentor.
It’s his fault. Although Thistleclaw was bad, bad, bad kitty from the moment he was born, Adderfang taught him that the other clans were evil and stuff. This is shown in Bluestar’s Prophecy, when he says, “‘In greenleaf,’ Thistlepaw snapped, ‘But what about during leaf-bare, when we need every whisker of territory?’” Bluestar reflects that he is just repeating what Adderfang taught him.
So Adderfang, in conclusion, is the reason Hawkfrost tried to murder Firestar moons later.
Supporting cats:
Brambleclaw, for creating competition
Ashfur, for helping Hawkfrost with his plan
Squirrelflight, for infuriating Ashfur
Jake, for convincing Pinestar to move and giving birth to Firestar.
Firestar, for existing and giving Hawkfrost a victim
Mudclaw, for motivating Hawkfrost
Tallstar, for infuriating Mudaw
So, In conclusion, Hawkfrost is just the story of motivation and amplification.
