How Old are the Clans? by Brambleheart

Brambleheart ponders how old the Clans are.

Hey everyone! The timeline of Warriors really interests me, with all of these connected events occurring months or even years apart. But there are still some questions that remain: where does this all fit in in the real world?

Let’s start with the base timeline. I will be referring to the ones that Warriors Wiki uses, in the sense that the years before Into the Wild are YBF (Years before Firestar) and everything happening after are just Years. You can refer to the timeline here: https://warriors.fandom.com/wiki/Events_timeline

For the sake for convenience, let’s say that Year 1 happens in 2003, the year that Into the Wild released. This makes it so that:

-The New Prophecy arc began in 2006
-Power of Three began in 2008
-Omen of The Stars began in 2009
-A Vision of Shadows began in 2012
-The Broken Code began in 2015

As of the end of Veil of Shadows, in Warrior cats, it is currently spring of 2015.

Here is a look of when certain events happened in this timeline:

-Crookedstar and Bluestar were both born in 1997
-Mapleshade’s Vengeance took place in 1986
-SkyClan left in 1976 (this makes sense, as around that time in real life, cities and suburbs were expanding a lot as more stores were being built)
-The Great Battle happened in Summer of 2010

So now we know of the chronological years of events of Warriors from Cloudstar’s Journey onwards. But what about in Dawn of the Clans?

Well, we can infer from clues in the story arc. For example, Turtle Tail was run over by a Ford Model T. These cars were very popular in the 1920’s, so we can say that Dawn of the Clans takes place around then.

For convenience, let’s say that The Sun Trail took place in 1920. This would make it so that The First Battle happened in 1921, and the Clans were formed in 1922.

Seeing how cats didn’t live for very long in the ancient tribe due to a lack of prey, we can infer that the Tribe of Rushing Water was created in 1910, making Half Moon 10 when the Tribe left, and 12 when she died.

Anyways, I hope you’ve enjoyed this timeline!

  • Oh my gosh, the Clans are like… uh… *chokes* almost 100 years old! 98 years, to be exact… but it’s going to be 99 soon!
This was really accurate, and I just assumed: Well, fifty years?
But this makes sense a lot! Great job!

  • Its a great article but they’re actually 60 years old so… I loved this tho

  • I love this article! If this is true though, how did no one remember SkyClan in the first arc????

P.S. I’ve never seen the Warriors WIki timeline, but it’s funny that they count years before Firestar and after Firestar. 😛

    • I’m going to guess that it was just too far of a length of time for that to be possible. It’d have been nearly 30 years at that point, so about 3 generations of 9 year old elders. We know that the cats were so ashamed of it that they decided to ignore and eventually forget it, so the first generation of elders after SkyClan was banished likely didn’t pass the story on to the next generation. There may have been rumors of a long forgotten Clan, but I doubt it was anything the cats believed and talked about a whole lot.
