  • I am so excited for A Light In The Mist!!!!!!!!!!!!! The broken code is my favoritest (that’s officially a word now) series so far.

I have a question for Kate- who is your favorite cat and what’s your favorite warrior/apprentice/leader/kit name?

  • This is who I predict will be chapters in ALITM.
I guess that will be 27 chapters.

    Prologue: Snowtuft
    Ch 1: Shadowsight
    Ch 2: Rootspring
    Ch 3: Bristlefrost
    Ch 4: Shadowsight
    Ch 5: Rootspring
    Ch 6: Bristlefrost
    Ch 7: Shadowsight
    Ch 8: Rootspring
    Ch 9: Bristlefrost
    Ch 10: Shadowsight
    Ch 11: Rootspring
    Ch 12: Bristlefrost
    Ch 13: Shadowsight
    Ch 14: Rootspring
    Ch 15: Bristlefrost
    Ch 16: Shadowsight
    Ch 17: Rootspring
    Ch 18: Bristlefrost
    Ch 19: Shadowsight
    Ch 20: Rootspring
    Ch 21: Bristlefrost
    Ch 22: Shadowsight
    Ch 23: Rootspring
    Ch 24: Bristlefrost
    Ch 25: Shadowsight
    Ch 26: Rootspring
    Ch 27: Bristlefrost

It would be cool if this book had epiloge.

  • Hey Kate! Your biggest fan here, I have a few questions if you don’t mind
    1. Will Sol somehow be involved like always?
    2. Who’s your favorite and least favorite cat?
    3. Does the imposter have a team of cats the clans will be fighting against?
    4. Can we PLEASE have a Crowstar? (And Breezepelt as deputy that would be so adorable)
    5. ONESTAR NEEDS A SUPER EDITION ABOUT HIS EARLY LIFE

  • Don’t take this to serious its just an idea. So they use beekit of skyclan, one of spotfurs kits, and maybe some apprentice from riverclan. Beekit discovers that a twoleg kit and her family are moving ominously close to the clans. At the gathering, The older cats begin to panic, fearing that there will be yet another great journey, But the newly named beepaw insists that they should not panic, maybe even talk to them. Crowfeather loudly proclaims that she was a bee brain, just like her name suggests. Furious, she stomps away from the gathering, but not before she realizes that she being followed. She turns to see one of spotfurs kits, (well just call her Branchpaw ) an apprentice from river clan ( well just call him Riverpaw) They explain that they liked the idea she had and wanted to help. Sorry. I know this plot is a bit rushed. I had to keep it pretty short. There should be room for character development, including when beepaw is made an apprentice and introducing riverpaw and branchpaw to the readers. And minor characters being reintroduced. It should have how branchpaw an riverpaw met at a gathering and how they became friends. This could be a really good series if developed correctly. Don’t take this idea seriously.

  • Is anyone else still leaning into the theory of Ashfur being Ivypool and Dovewing’s father? I didn’t put too much stock into it, but I’m actually thinking that it’s more and more possible as this series goes on. The two cats he focuses on the most (besides Bramblestar and Squirrelflight) are Shadowsight and Bristlefrost, the kits of Dovewing and Ivypool, aka his grandchildren if the theory is correct. I always thought he picked out Shadowsight because he was young and vulnerable and easily convinced, but could it also be because he’s his grandson? And when he was posing as Bramblestar as leader of ThunderClan, he showed an unusual amount of interest in Bristlefrost and gave her a lot of responsibility. She was a young warrior trying to prove herself and obey her leader, but he could have chosen any young warrior to be his spy within the Clan, but he happened to choose her? I still think it’s not very likely that he turns out to be Dovewing and Ivypool’s father, but I think it would be very interesting if he was. Plus, just from the pelt and eye color of Dovewing and Ivypool, Ashfur would make much more sense than Birchfall as their father! They’re both pale gray/silver, and Ivypool has dark blue eyes JUST like Ashfur…

      • He probably didn’t really care for Whitewing. Maybe they just had a fling, or more likely he did it to make Squirrelflight jealous, but since he died he never had a chance to claim them as his own.

    • I think that is a very interesting idea and would be kind of surprising and cool if he really was the father but if you think about it Ivypool and Dovewing are related to Ashfur and Ferncloud since Birchfall is Ferncloud’s son and Ivypool’s and Dovewing’s father, or maybe not if it really is Ashfur. So they could have gotten the coloring from Ashfur showing they are related to him like how Squirrelflight’s white paw shows her relation to Scourge.

  • Hi Kate! Will Shadowsight show up next arc? Alderheart, Twigbranch, and Violetshine haven’t done much in TBC, so I’m worried about him.

  • Oooooh I’m so hyped for thisssss it looks so good!! Also if ASC doesn’t have a BristleXRoot kit then maybe it won’t happen! 😀 Although if the code changes probably they will and that will be pov of series number I’mtoolazytocounteventhoughIshouldknowthis. 😛

    • I’m not sure if there are going to be Bristlespring kits. It seems inevitable that they would be POV for the next series, but they’re not.

  • Hey Kate! I’m love warriors and I can’t wait for everything to happen. I love warriors too much to explain. It’s been there for me for so long, and I can’t wait to see this new arc!

    • Hi Kunai! That’s lovely to hear. I hope you love the new arc as much as you’ve enjoyed previous ones 💖

  • I think that Ivypool, Bramblestar, and Squirrelflight are going to die in ALitM. I commented a while back my reasoning for Ivypool, ThunderClan has learned to live without Bramblestar in TBC, making it interesting if he were to die, and it would be especially interesting if Squirrelflight died too. They would (hopefully) be together in StarClan, and it would bring back the TPONS leadership issue.

    • I’m really really hoping for Ivystar!!!! I want Bramblestar, Squirrelflight, and Lionblaze to die in this book, and then maybe ThunderClan can hold some sort of election for their next leader. That way they won’t have the whole nepotism issue that Thornclaw brought up in GV. They can actually pick who they think will be the best leader. If Ivypool becomes leader, I want to have she-cats as both leader and deputy because we haven’t had that since Leopardstar/Mistyfoot! I’m thinking it would most likely be Cinderheart, or maybe Sparkpelt or Whitewing!

      • I totally agree with you about Bramblestar, Squirrelflight, and Lionblaze! (In my opinion, Bramblestar and Lionblaze are overrated. They’re too proud for me. Squirrelflight is one of my favorites, though.) The election idea is fantastic! An Ivystar would be pretty good . 🙂

  • Kate I got a question for you maybe you have notes on this somewhere.

We know the RiverClan-Cat Lakeheart is the mother of Softpelt, Dappleduft, Gorseclaw and Harelight.
I noticed in “Darkness Within” it states that the tom Lizardtail is “kin” of Softpelt. Is he actually the mate of Lakeheart and father of her kits?

    • I’m pretty sure Lizardtail has been confirmed as Lakeheart’s mate! Although we haven’t seen her in a while in the allegiances lists, did she die at some point?

  • I am going to be forever mad that the Erins decided to screw Bristlefrost over in favor of her in becoming the “love interest” character. They didn’t do much better with Rootspring either, everything is on metaphorical fire and all the two can think about is how much they’re in love with each other- I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more pressing matters than plot-forced shipping not gonna lie.

For those who like the ship and are reading this, do keep in mind that the dynamic of the relationship is not what I’m bugged about! Because it is kinda cute sometimes, especially in Darkness Within. I’m more annoyed that the writers are all willing to sacrifice character’s personalities and actual logic in favor of giving the ship more screentime. I’m hoping that this can at least be fixed a little bit in ALITM, or at least pointed out by someone else, but I’m pretty doubtful about that at this point.

Also I reaaallly hope that they don’t have kits until the next arc because despite them both being warriors for a while now they aren’t really at the point of maturity where a regular human adult should be thinking about having kids. Even with the general time skips of the books, I still don’t think they’re emotionally mature either-
