Hello! I’m Willowdance and this is going to be my first article.
So, you all know that Dovewing is one of the more hated characters. But all of the Dovewing lovers seem to hate Ivypool!
Let’s take a moment to notice the pros and cons of each character.
Dovewing
Pros
-She is a very good hunter
-She is a very loving sister/friend
-She saves the Clans from the drought and from the Dark Forest
-She loves her Clan
Cons
-She isn’t a very good fighter
-She is kinda whiney
-She leaves her Clan to be with Tigerheartstar aka the love of her life
-No one knows what color her eyes are lol!
Ivypool
Pros
-She is a great fighter
-She loves her sister a lot
-She spies in the Dark Forest for the Clans
Cons
-She isn’t the best hunter
-She goes to the Dark Forest to train
A Defense of Dovewing
A lot of people think Dovewing is annoying. But really, she’s just misunderstood. Imagine you’re Dovewing for a second. So, you live a normal life, and you have everything equal with your best friend ever, and that’s just how you like it. All of a sudden, you have to spend a lot of time with this distant relative you barely know, and he tells you that you have some big important destiny that you have no idea how to fulfill, but your whole country is counting on you, whether they know it or not. Also, you have powers, and your best friend doesn’t, and you can’t tell her anything, and the only people you’re allowed to talk to about it, are him, and another distant relative that happens to be a blind doctor. Kind of overwhelming, don’t you think?
Also, when you’ve saved the world, you lose your powers that you’ve gotten used to. It’s like, you used to have expanded senses, but now, your senses are normal. But those were your normal senses!!! I imagine it feeling like this: One day you have perfectly normal sight, smell, and hearing. You go to bed. When you wake up, you can only see, smell, and hear things that are one quarter of the way closer than before. It must feel like you’ve gone blind and deaf all in one night!
A Defense of Ivypool
Well, Ivypool doesn’t need a defense from readers as much as a defense from her own Clanmates. So, yeah, Ivypool trained in the Dark Forest… SO WHAT!?! SHE ALSO SAVED YOUR OWN JUDGEMENTAL PELTS WHILE RISKING HER OWN!!! Not enough of a defense? Umm.. What else is there to say? The Clans would have died without Ivypool, so, yeah, she’s awesome.

I’m meh about Dovewing. I was just kind of annoyed when she ran of with Tigerstar the second. I really like Ivypool though. Great article!

I really think that if Dovewing stayed in ThunderClan, Bumblestripe would have roped her in longer and there would be more drama. Besides, Tigerheart/star is a way better mate than Bumblestripe will ever be.
I like them both sorta… I like Ivypool better cause yeah, Dovewing complains about her powers while Ivypool would do ANYTHING to have them

Great article! I love Ivypool, but the main reason I hate Dovewing wasn’t covered in this article. It’s how Dovewing treated Bumblestripe. She let him think that they could be together, when she really loved Tigerstar 2. But she became mates with Bumblestripe, and one day, Dovewing just decided, “You know what, I’m not feeling this anymore, we’re done,” when Bumblestripe did NOTHING wrong. And then she runs off with this ShadowClan tom, complaining how hard her life is, leaving the tom who thought she loved him and the sister who thought she cared about her behind her.
