Hello everybody it’s Fawnpelt! Today, I’m going to take a look at Willowpelt’s mates. Now, we all know that most of Willowpelt’s choices of mates are quite questionable. You may be thinking, “But what about Whitestorm?”. Well, you’ll see what I mean. It’s not that I don’t like him, in fact, he is actually one of my favorite characters! Just read on to find out why!

So, first off, let’s look at Tawnyspots. This relationship might be unfamiliar to you. On these two cats, you may hear things like, “The two were never seen as mates, but Erin Hunter has confirmed that they were Darkstripe’s parents… Willowpelt was only an apprentice when Tawnyspots was sick and in the medicine den.” And, honestly, that makes no sense. So, if they are both Darkstripe’s parents, they must be mates. But what we need to take into consideration is the fact that Tawnyspots is A LOT older than Willowpelt. And for StarClan’s sake! He’s even older than Bluestar! So, this relationship is extremely confusing.

Next, we have Patchpelt. This is the one that everyone probably thinks about when it comes to Willowpelt’s mates. This is the one I really hate. Patchpelt is her brother! Did the Erin Hunter team somehow ignore this? Maybe they just forgot that they had the same parents… I hope. The only thing good that came out of this relationship is our beloved Graystripe. Besides what I just said, there’s really not much else to say about this one.

And last of all, the one my paws have been itching to get to, Whitestorm! So, why is this relationship weird? Well, climb up the family tree a little, and you’ll realize that Whitestorm and Willowpelt are cousins! I’ll explain it. Whitestorm’s mother is Snowfur, who’s mother is Moonflower, who’s mother is Daisytoe. Willowpelt’s mother is Swiftbreeze, and her mother is Flashnose. And Flashnose and Daisytoe are sisters. I’m not very supportive of this, but if I hadn’t noticed that, I really love the relationship between the two of them! So, one thing I hope the Erin Hunter team remembers in the future, don’t pair families together, and don’t pair elderly cats with young cats!

I hope this was interesting to read and feel free to comment your thoughts on it! I’m always open to getting feedback! Also, if there is a certain topic you would like me to make an article on, please tell me! I’m always waiting for ideas to spark! I’ll be back soon with who I think are the best warriors!
