Whiterabbit analyses the candidates for the “Fourth” in Omen of the Stars
Whiterabbit analyses the candidates for the “Fourth” in Omen of the Stars.
Hi, Whiterabbit here, and today (well, it’s today for me. An article a day keeps ShadowClan away(I don’t know. I just made that up)) I will be talking about who should have been the fourth. You know, in Power of Three, or is it Omen of the Stars I think? when they get that prophecy about the three, and then a fourth. I guess that the exact words are “there will be three cats, kin of your kin, with the power of the stars in their paws. They will find a fourth, and the battle between light and dark will be won.” That’s not the complete prophecy, but the part that I will be focusing on. We never expected that the fourth would be Firestar unless our friend spoiled it for us, which mine did (because I asked her to), so I really don’t know who you thought it was. But, we all know, or at least should, that Lionblaze though it was Hollyleaf, Jayfeather thought it was Mothwing, and Dovewing thought it was Ivypool. Let’s see who it should have been, out of those three.
Hollyleaf
Lionblaze would argue that Hollyleaf was both his and Jayfeather’s littermate, and everybody involved (which was not very many cats) thought that she would be the third. It only makes sense that she would be.
My opinion is that Hollyleaf had her chance and she blew it. I think that lots of readers thought that it should be her because she is the most obvious choice, but that’s exactly the problem. Tons of readers would be expecting it, but if they’re smart, then they will probably think that of course, it is not one of the three that the original three think it is, but anyway, I think that it shouldn’t be Hollyleaf, just because.
Mothwing
This was completely out of the blue. Jayfeather would say that because she doesn’t believe in StarClan or the Dark Forest, and therefore she is immune to their greatest weapon. Didn’t ya hear, Jayfeather? (not like you could see) Not believing in StarClan is a weakness! We know that Mothwing is a special medicine cat, but special in a bad way. Plus, if your enemy that you don’t believe in is standing right in front of you, then you are able to see them, because they are real, even if you don’t believe in them, and they might get you to believe that these things are real, or you might convince yourself that it was a crazy dream-hallucination, but that is very unlikely.
Ivypool
I think that this is the most likely. Ivypool can go and spy in the Dark Forest, which none of the other cats can because the Dark Forest chose her. Without Ivypool, the clans definitely wouldn’t have won. But somehow, they left her out of the prophecy, like it didn’t matter whether she was risking her life there or not. But it does. And, Ivypool’s sister Dovewing was in the prophecy, but she barely did anything to help beat the Dark Forest! It was all Ivypool! Ivypool should get all the credit! Dovewing didn’t do anything! (Can you tell who my favorite and least favorite cats are by now.)
In conclusion, I think that Ivypool should have been the fourth. It would make sense. Two cats from Firestar’s tree, and two from Cloudtail’s. I can’t tell whether this article told you anything except about how amazing Ivypool is, but you can comment on who you think should have been the third. Goodbye from Whiterabbit!

I’m fine with how Firestar was the fourth, but if not, Hollyleaf or Ivypool could’ve been good.
I think if it was Hollyleaf, it would just defeat the entire purpose of the PoT arc for me. Like, the big twist is that she isn’t in the Three (I know that the whole Squirrelflight-not-being-their-mother twist is big too 😛 ), but if the authors had said “JUST KIDDING yes she is” then that would have been really disappointing in my opinion.
I would have quite liked it to have been Half Moon, to be honest 😛 great article!
Half Moon is dead, it couldn’t have been her
True?
I know, but if Jayfeather travelled back in time to meet her, I’m sure it’s possible 😛
Yeah!

Good article!
Yea, I agree. I think Ivypool should of been the fourth but your opinion about dovewing I don’t agree because she cared about her sister and never did anything evil so… yeah. I like both sisters.
I like shadowclan.
Y E S
Mothwing was really out of the blue, and I don’t think she really deserves to be part of a prophecy, althought I have no problems with her.
It should have been Ivypool or Hollyleaf, but I think Hollyleaf deserved to be one of the three. Sure, she messed up a BIT, (cause Ashfur honestly deserved that death). But she proved herself a lot by helping ThunderClan with the battle, and she was always very smart and level-headed. She just went a little crazy when she learned the truth. Leafpool did deffinetly not deserve being yelled at by her own daughter to eat deathberries and kill herself, that was just brutal Hollyleaf.
Yes, so true! Ashfur TOTALLY deserved to die and he SHOULD HAVE went to the Dark forest. Also, Hollyleaf was a bit scary/ill at the end.
nice reasoning it repeats the article twice tho
Perm to use “an article a day keeps shadow clan away?”
Nice article! I agree with most of your opinions but not the one about Dovewing. Dovewing struggled with her great destiny and she didn’t know how the prophecy could come true just like the rest of the Thee. But she did her best. I like Dovewing and Ivypool a like though.
I agree! Awesome article Whiterabbit!
I love Ivypool yay! I agree, because Dovewing is just so whiney and didn’t do anything. She just went AAAAHHHH and scratched a bit of the Dark Forest cats AND Squirrelflight. Ivypool actually fought and defended her Clan against the Dark Forest. Ivypool does deserve to be the fourth cat.
Nice Article!
I agree, though how about Flametail?
