Why You Should NOT Hate Jessy! by Turtlepaw

Turtlepaw explains why readers shouldn’t hate Jessy.

*Warning: Major spoilers for the Super Edtion Bramblestar’s Storm are ahead, as well as major spoilers for A Vision of Shadows! This is your first and only warning!*

Hello fellow BlogClanners! I’m Turtle, and here to defend one of the most hated Warriors cats…
Jessy.
Jessy is really overHATED, not overRATTED like some people think.

That’s why I’m writing this article: to show people why they should NOT hate Jessy!
Because Jessy is actually a really nice cat.
So let’s start the defending! I’ll take something Jessy haters say about her, and then DEFEND!

1. “Jessy got in Squirrelflight and Bramblestar’s way! She got in the way of them becoming mates again!”

No, she didn’t. Actually, Jessy was part of the reason Bramblestar and Squirrelflight got back together!

Think about it: If Jessy hadn’t helped Bramblestar realize he still loved Squirrelflight, and hadn’t encouraged him to make up with Squirrelflight, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight may not be mates!
SquirrelXBramble is a great ship, and it would be horrible if they weren’t a couple.
Well, they are a couple. And Jessy helped that to happen.
Just look at this quote of Jessy’s.

“I know. But you already love Squirrelflight. As you should. She is the mother of your kits. I know they weren’t born to you. But you are their father, just as Squirrelflight is their mother. That is not a bond that’s easily broken. Not even washed away in a storm!”

See? Jessy saved Bramblestar and Squirrelflight’s relationship!

That’s awesome!

2. “Jessy was a useless character!”

Actually, Jessy was FAR from useless. Like I stated above, she saved Bramblestar and Squirrelflight’s relationship.
But did you know she also played a very important role in A Vision of Shadows?
I know what you’re thinking- “Jessy wasn’t even IN A Vision of Shadows!”

You’re right. But still, she is the reason SkyClan came to the lake.

Let me explain: As I already established earlier in this article, Jessy saved Bramblestar and Squirrelflight’s loveboat.
If she didn’t exist, they might not be mates. They may have never forgiven each other.
If Bramblestar and Squirrelflight were not mates, then they wouldn’t have had their kits, Alderheart and Sparkpelt.

If they didn’t have Alderheart and Sparkpelt, then Alderheart would have never gone on his quest to find SkyClan.
Which means that he and Needletail (Needlepaw back then) would have never found Twigkit and Violetkit.

If they never found Twigkit and Violetkit, then Twigkit would have never found SkyClan.
Well, she was TwigPAW when she did that, but you know what I mean.

And if Violetkit was dead, Darktail might still be in power!
Remember, Violetkit (Violetpaw when it happened) played a very important part in taking down Darktail.

So yeah. The only reason all these things happened is because of Jessy, so she is ABSOLUTELY not useless!

3. “Jessy is a kitty pet!”

So? What does that have anything to do with anything?
Just because Jessy is a kitty pet (well, she might be a loner or a rouge now, but still) doesn’t mean she’s not a good cat!
There’s a lot of great Warriors characters who happen to be kitty pets. Just because they don’t live in a Clan doesn’t mean you need to hate them!

So yeah! That was yours truly, Turtle, defending Jessy!
I’m not expecting to change Jessy haters’ minds with this article, tbh.
If I did, I would be quite surprised.
But if you too, are a Jessy defender, then I hope this article inspired you to defend Jessy even more!

Because Jessy doesn’t deserve the hate she gets. Not one bit.
