Fallenfeather shares a song that suits Bristlefrost and Rootspring.
Hey Guys, It’s Fallenfeather again 🤪 Today I am going to be sharing a song I discovered while riding in my dad’s car that goes really well with Rootspring and Bristlefrost. Well, I’ve actually heard this song multiple times, but it wasn’t until I looked up the lyrics till I finally discovered how well it went with our Broken Code buddies.
So let’s get into it, shall we?? *SPOILER WARNING*
Song: Wolves
Artist: Selena Gomez
In your eyes, there’s a heavy blue
One to love and one to lose
Sweet divide, a heavy truth
Water or wine, don’t make me choose
I wanna feel the way that we did that summer night (night)
Drunk on a feeling, alone with the stars in the sky
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been running with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve been down the darkest alleys
Saw the dark side of the moon
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve looked for love in every stranger
Took too much to ease the anger
All for you, yeah, all for you
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been crying with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you (oh to get to you)
Your fingertips trace my skin
To places I have never been
Blindly I am following
Break down these walls and come on in
I wanna feel the way that we did that summer night
Drunk on a feeling, alone with the stars in the sky
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been running with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve been down the darkest alleys
Saw the dark side of the moon
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve looked for love in every stranger
Took too much to ease the anger
All for you, yeah, all for you
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been crying with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you (oh to get to you)
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been running with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve been down the darkest alleys
Saw the dark side of the moon
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve looked for love in every stranger
Took too much to ease the anger
All for you, yeah, all for you
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been crying with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you (oh to get to you)
I can just imagine Bristlefrost and Rootspring singing this in a duet!!
Okay, so let me explain. The first part of the song says
“In your eyes, there’s a heavy blue
One to love and one to lose
Sweet divide, a heavy truth
Water or wine, don’t make me choose”
This part of the song goes with Rootspring and Bristlefrost because Rootspring’s eyes are blue. One eye symbolizes love, and the other can be easily lost in the midst of their borders. They are both divided by their clan’s borders, and don’t want to have to choose between their love for each other and their clans.
The next part of the song says
“I wanna feel the way that we did that summer night (night)
Drunk on a feeling, alone with the stars in the sky”
I don’t know if any of you remember or have read it yet, but there was a scene in Darkness Within that really goes with these specific lyrics. The scene took place in The Sisters temporary camp. Rootspring and Bristlefrost decided to spend a night together below the stars, sense they were going home with The Sisters in the morning, and if I’m remembering clearly, I’m pretty sure it was a summer night too 😜
Another part of this song says
“Your fingertips trace my skin
To places I have never been
Blindly I am following
Break down these walls and come on in”
These lyrics basically are just saying that Bristle and Root have been through a lot together in The Broken Code series. It’s saying that Bristlefrost is in a place in her life that she never expected herself to be in, and that her and Rootspring are ready for anything that comes in the future.
The main part of the song says
“I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been running with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve been down the darkest alleys
Saw the dark side of the moon
To get to you, to get to you
I’ve looked for love in every stranger
Took too much to ease the anger
All for you, yeah, all for you
I’ve been running through the jungle
I’ve been crying with the wolves
To get to you, to get to you (oh to get to you)”
These lyrics are just saying that Bristlefrost has gone through so much to be with Rootspring, and yet it seems like they can still never be together. “I’ve looked for love in every stranger” goes with Bristlefrost because she thought that Stemleaf was the perfect tom for her. But she later found out that he loves another she-cat, which made her angry because she had spent her whole life dreaming about being with him, and now those dreams were crushed!!! So she feels that she has to do everything in her power to be with Rootspring, so she doesn’t lose him too.
