  • I noticed it says “A Starless Clan” but as in singular. Maybe only one clan will stop believing in starclan and first, like a blackstar-sol-situation?

  • Hey Kate! About whom would you want next novellas be? Could it be about some character from the past? Like from the time of Ancients or SkyClan in Cloudstar’s Journey?

        • Maybe something about uhhh (what’s his name too many names ahhhhh)…. The guy who loved Bluefur in ThunderClan and loved her kits like they were his own and basically saved Bluefur. Just like his point of view on what he felt when the kits came and when the kits went. What if he knew that Mistypaw and Stonepaw were Bluefurs kits because I don’t know how no one noticed that, especially him.

      • I think it’d be cool to have a Longtail novella to see what was going on inside him after Swiftpaw died, or just one about Longtail in general! Also, a Jagged Peak novella from after he got kicked out of Clear Sky’s group to see what rage going on inside would be interesting

      • This might be a bit of a weirder answer, but I’d really like to see something with Harelight! He’s been though a whole lot during this arc, what with losing both his siblings and his home. It’d be a pretty good opportunity to flesh out some background characters in ShadowClan and RiverClan (the latter could be done with flashbacks probably). Plus he could actually get a personality, and as a professional background character appreciator I’d like him to have thoughts and feelings on things-

      • I would love to have a novella about Ashfur. It would be so cool to hear his side of the story! (and delight in the ensuing chaos in the fandom. Mapleshade might have to move over as the most defended villain.)

  • Okay so if Mothflight is gonna try and rely on Frostpaw to have a connection with StarClan, what if Mothflight dies?? Or gets sick and needs Frostpaw to do everything.

    Or what if Frostpaw cant communicate to StarClan either, and RiverClan begins to worry?

    • We don’t really know if Mothwing will be her mentor,tho.TPoNS ended with Alderheart going to RiverClan to act as their temporary medicine cat.Mothwing was still in Shadowclan with Puddleshine and Shadowsight.Seeing as they were born when Rootpaw was a new apprentice,,and he’s now a young warrior,Frostkit and her siblings will probably be apprenticed while Alderheart is still in RiverClan,so Mothwing may not come back to RiverClan. Just saying.

  • Ok I am kinda mad that another cat who is kin of firestar is in the books. Give poor firestar a break! It’s been 8 series people! Also I want to put the spotlight on sunbeam and her mentor, snaketooth 2. Snaketooth is barely mentioned in the books but without her sumbeam would not be a warrior right now. So I give a thanks to snaketooth!!!! 🙂 Also, Also, I’m hyped that there is finally a river clan cat perspective! Yay!

  • I’m kinda tired of at least one main character in each arc being related to firestar (except dotc). it’s pretty annoying. kate, in the future will there be an arc with the main character’s NOT firestar’s kin?

    1. How are you enjoying writing this arc? Do you prefer book 1 or 2?

    1.5. Along the same lines, out of the entire outline, is there a specific book in this arc you’re looking forward to writing?

    2. Will we ever have an evil protagonist?

    3. Along the same vain, will we ever have protags who are enemies?

    4. Will Whistlepaw play a role in this arc?

    5. On a scale of 1-10, how much bloodshed will be in this arc? (this is a bit of a weird one, so feel free to not answer it if it spoils too much!)

    6. How long does it typically take to write the outline for an arc? Do you know what’s going to happen for the whole arc, or do you plan the first 3 books and then the next 3 books?

    7. I noticed that on the official warriors website, there was a poll that was about the readers favorite aspect of Riverclan. One of the options was along the lines of “Their culture of enjoying pretty things and decorating their dens with shiny objects”. Will this be included?

    8. Woo! Final question: If you had to chose, which A Starless Clan Protagonist would you kill off?

  • Kate, just wondering if Lilyheart will have some level of importance in this book 😀
    After all, she is Flamepaw’s mentor and grandma, and I like to think that they have a closer relationship because of having both a mentor/apprentice and a family dynamic, as well as Lilyheart helping Flamepaw with his struggles to prove himself. Also (hopefully this question won’t be worthy of a W.A.S), will Flamepaw become a warrior in first few chapters of River? I’d really love to see him interacting a lot with Lilyheart before becoming a warrior instead of just becoming a warrior and not interacting with her at all 🙂

  • I suspect the Erins or HarperCollins or whoever decides the plot of these books is going to break down the Clans’ two objectives into different series- defeating Ashfur in TBC and bringing back StarClan in ASC.

  • Ooh, time to create my own designs for the new and upcoming protagonists!

    I imagine my design for Flamepaw having yellow or orange tabby patches/points and maybe also white paws. My Sunbeam design is yellowish-brown (ochre?) in colour with darker stripes and white tuxedo-like markings, and even though there is no official appearance description for Frostpaw (except for her eye colour on the book cover), I will picture her in my head as a greyish-brown-and-white tabby She-cat for now.
