Thrushpelt: Why he deserved to have a mate by Amberpaw

Amberpaw argues why Thrushpelt should’ve had a mate.

Hi, everyone! This is Amberpaw, with my second article! (Unless the first one didn’t get published…. or you haven’t read it….)
Today I’m going to be ranting about why Thrushpelt deserved to have a mate!

Thrushpelt- sandy-gray tom with white flash on his chest and green eyes

Bluefur – gray she-cat with blue eyes

Ashfur- pale gray (with darker flecks) tom, dark blue eyes

Rosetail- gray tabby she-cat with a bushy, pinkish-orange tail.

Leopardfoot- sleek, mottled, raven-black she-cat with green eyes.

Pinestar- red-brown tom with green eyes

Oakheart- dark reddish-brown tom with amber eyes.

*SPOILERS FOR BLUESTAR’S PROPHECY*
Alrighty, let’s get started. We all know that Thrushpelt was a selfless and honorable warrior. In Bluestar’s Prophecy, he did sweet things like clean out Bluefur’s nest, try to make her laugh…. purr….. hehe… and ask to share prey with her and stuff! He liked Bluefur a lot, and when she rejected him, he didn’t go crazy and try to kill someone. COUGHashfurCOUGH

Bluefur noticed everything he did for her, but she didn’t really notice him. On page 393 of Bluestar’s Prophecy, Rosetail says: “I have never seen any cat look so disappointed.” She was gazing at Thrushpelt, who looked lost beside the fresh kill pile. […] “What’s wrong with you?” Rosetail demanded. “I wish I had a cat following me around like that.”
That’s why I ship Thrushpelt and Rosetail! I really think that she would notice what a caring cat he was, and like him back. I also ship him with Leopardfoot. Pinestar kinda abandoned her, and I know that Thrush would NEVER, EVER do that to someone! (I’ll come back to this. 😉)

Another amazing thing about Thrushie— okay, that sounded better in my head — is that he would make a great father! He loved Bluefur’s kits as his own. I was a little shocked when he offered to pretend to be the father, so no one would know who the real father was. When Mosskit, Stonekit and Mistykit “died” he was just as devastated as he would have been if he was their real father. He truly loved them, and he would be the perfect dad.

I like Bluestar, but I was mad at her for breaking Thrushpelt’s heart. The weird thing is, I like the BluexOak ship, so…. 😛 I don’t really know! I don’t ship BluexThrush anymore, because she would end up breaking his heart one way or another. Her heart lay somewhere else, and Thrushpelt had the courage to recognize that, and move on. That is what I think bravery is. Thrushpelt wasn’t the best hunter, or the biggest, strongest cat, or an extra special fighter. He was a gentle, sweet and undeniably brave cat. That’s what I would look for in a mate if I were a warrior. He deserves someone that sees this, and loves him just as much as he loves them.

Remember when I said I would “come back to this, winky-face”? Well, now is the time! I honestly didn’t care who he ended up with- Rosetail or Leopardfoot. They’re both good cats who would appreciate him. Sadly, he died and I don’t know if he got a mate or not. (He probably didn’t. *sigh*) I hope you agree that Thrushpelt deserves a mate!
