Mountainstorm lists some underrated Warriors characters!

Hello kits, apprentices, warriors, elders, medicine cats!
In this article, I will be discussing characters in the warrior cat books that are underrated, yet are amazing cats who deserve to be favorites. There are many reasons these cats deserve to be your favorite, which vary, depending on the character we are discussing. So let’s dive in and see!
9. Goosefeather
Goosefeather was given a “gift” from StarClan. This gift allowed him to see and speak to ghosts from StarClan at all times. He could even see the future at times. This “gift”, was actually a curse. The curse ruined Goosefeather’s life. He could have been a happy, brave warrior, but no. And why exactly did StarClan give him this gift? So they could have a stronger connection with the Clan? But they already had a strong connection! What use was throwing aside the soul of a living cat, and using him as a puppet? Almost everyone hated Goosefeather because he was “weird”, and was apprenticed and made a medicine cat earlier then the warrior code said. Even his own sister turned her back on him. He couldn’t make any friends, he couldn’t learn to hunt or fight, he couldn’t even stop disasters that he saw in his visions! What torture that must have been for him, knowing that something bad was going to happen, yet he couldn’t do anything to stop them. Eventually, due to the curse, Goosefeather lost his mind, and later died. Goosefeather isn’t a bad cat. He was smart, and caring, yet the curse drove him out of his mind. If StarClan hadn’t given him his curse, Goosefeather would probably have been a wonderful cat. But don’t like him because you pity him; like him because he saved Squirrelwhisker, was a quick learner, tried so hard to prevent disasters and save his Clan, was a fine medicine cat, and taught Featherwhisker well. Goosefeather is an amazing character, and that is why he should be your favorite.
8. Cinderpelt
Cinderpelt is pretty underrated too, despite being a wonderful medicine cat and a loyal friend. I fell in love with Cinderpelt the moment she was apprenticed to Fireheart. She was very energetic, eager to learn… and disobeyed Fireheart in nearly everything. Including going to the thunderpath, where Tigerclaw had set a trap meant for Bluestar. A monster (car) hit her, and her back leg got crippled. Cinderpelt barely survived, and when she realized she could never become a warrior, she kind of- faded. Lost her spirit. Yellowfang to the rescue! Yellowfang, with her hard, determined personality, persuaded Cinderpelt not to give up. When Cinderpelt exercised her leg, it caused her horrible pain. Yet she did it. She could never hunt or run again. Yet she didn’t give up. Cinderpaw tried her best to save Silverstream, and when she didn’t make it, Cinderpaw suffered yet another blow. But she managed to save Featherkit and Stormkit.
And when two ShadowClan cats, Littlecloud and Whitethroat, came to ThunderClan, sick, Cinderpelt didn’t give up on them. She discovered a cure for the ShadowClan sickness, and when was the last time a Clan cat discovered a new healing herb? Probably back at Mothflight and Pebbleheart’s time! Cinderpelt probably knew the cure to adder bites too, because when Honeyfern got bitten, Leafpool looked at Cinderheart for help.
And later in the books, after many moons had passed, Cinderpelt became very wise, and could give the best advice. Her character development through the books is just amazing. Cinderpelt is a great cat, which is why she should be one of your favorites too.
7. Honeyfern
Honeyfern is a very kind and intelligent cat, yet she doesn’t get a lot of love either. She was just about to become mates with Berrynose, and was already carrying his kits when she died saving Briarkit from an adder. Her sacrifice was selfless and very brave, but even before she died, she gave a lot of support to the other apprentices, and helped her Clan with her wonderful personality. Honeyfern is brilliant, and that is why she should make it onto your favorites list.
6. Ferncloud
I feel like Ferncloud is very underrated, but not only that, she gets hate too. Why? Because she had “too many” kits, and spent her whole life in the nursery. That’s the reason she was killed off too. But this was simply Ferncloud’s way of supporting her Clan. By giving them new warriors, and helping kitting queens who were is pain. Ferncloud is very kind, and selfless, devoting her life to bring new warriors into the Clan, and raising them with love and kindness. Ferncloud is also quite brave, as she helped kill Bone, and died defending the nursery from the Dark Forest cats. Ferncloud is a great cat. She definitely deserves to get more love.
5. Oakheart
Yes, Oakheart is pretty underrated too. But he definitely shouldn’t be! Remember, when Crookedkit got hurt? How much support and kindness his brother showed for him? Oakheart was probably one of the kindest kits in the warriors books, and later he was a wonderful father for Mistyfoot and Stonefur. Oakheart is the best brother Crookedstar could ask for, and he too deserves more spotlight!
4. Turtle Tail
Turtle Tail was a very kind cat, and it was selfless of her to go and rescue the kits from a place she was very scared of. I think this cat definitely should appear more on the “favorites” lists!
3. Willowbreeze
How Willowbreeze accepted and loved Crookedstar, no matter how he looked, was very heart-warming. She showed so much support and love for him, and was grateful for everything she had and loved.
2. Thrushpelt
Thrushpelt was in love with Bluestar. He tried to please her with whatever he could do. But Bluestar always turned him down. And when Bluestar discovered she was going to have kits, Thrushpelt questioned whenever he was the father or not. He wasn’t, and that left his heart broken. But instead of walking down a darker path, like Ashfur, he was too kind and caring to do so. Instead, he helped Bluestar out of her mess, and was a great father to Mosskit, Stonekit, and Mistykit. Thrushpelt is a very strong and smart character, and definitely deserves more love.
1. Feathertail
Feathertail is probably one of the most underrated warrior cats. But why? She isn’t a Mary sue (As proven in my last article), she is very kind and intelligent, and a great friend. She helped Crowpaw when he most needed it, and she kept the group of traveling cats together by settling arguments. She has a fascinating past, living through Tigerstar’s cruel rule, and him taking over RiverClan. She survived being hunted because she was half-Clan, then struggles to fit back in.
Remember, when Feathertail was still a kit, and Greystripe was speaking to Fireheart about her? He said she was fierce and bossy, like her mother. This shows you her character development! She went from a bossy little kit to a kind and caring warrior, who is prepared to trade her life for her loves any day. And though Feathertail does not show it, I think Crowfeather finding a second love so soon after her must have hurt her deeply. It would be interesting to read more about her!
And of course, she saves Crowfeather twice. Once from Sharptooth, once in Crowfeather’s trail.
Feathertail is beautiful, inside and out, and is a great character. (One of the best, in my opinion) She deserves only good, including your love. 🙂

And here are some honorable mentions:

Foxleap: Foxleap is a red tom, with an amazing personality. He is quite funny, in my opinion, and clever too, and though he does not play a major role in the books, he definitely made his way into my heart!
Doestar: Doestar (Also known as Doefeather when she was a warrior) was the first female leader in ThunderClan. I think she definitely deserves a medal for that, after such a long line of male dominance! And she was a pretty good leader too.
Shrewpaw: I love this cat!!! He is so kind, and I think he would have made a fine mate for Squirrelflight! He died trying to provide food for his Clan, and was only mentioned a few times in the new prophecy, but never again after that. Remember how he welcomed back Squirrelpaw, and slept beside her to warm her? Or how he welcomed Ravenpaw in the camp and offered to take him to Firestar’s den? I would love to hear more from this character! Wouldn’t you?
Perchpaw: Perchpaw was a RiverClan apprentice, whose mentor was Appledusk. At first, I didn’t like him, because he killed Mapleshade, but think about it from his point of view. Appledusk is a horrible cat, yet he could present himself very well to other warriors, like Mapleshade and Reedshine, and probably his apprentice too. That’s why those two had the special mentor-apprentice bond. So suddenly, a strange cat comes into your territory, kidnaps you, kills your mentor, and is about to kill a queen who is carrying kits. What would you do? Probably jump on her, trying to chase her off. I don’t think Perchpaw meant to kill Mapleshade, just scare her away. I think it was very brave of him to do that, and I’d love to hear more about his character!
Stonefur: Stonefur died because he wouldn’t kill two apprentices, Featherpaw and Stormpaw. He was a very brave cat, and I definitely think he should deserve more spotlight.

And that’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed reading my article! (If you read the whole thing you just made my day!) What are your opinions? Will you adopt any of these underrated cats as your favorites?
Till the next article!
Bye!
