Frostdapple wonders what would have changed if Squirrelflight had become mates with Ashfur instead.

Hey guys!!!!!! Frosti here!!!! Today, I am going to answer a question that many guys have been wondering the answer: What would happen? Today, I am going to go over what would happen if Squirrelflight chose Ashfur over Brambleclaw.

Okay, we all know that Ashfur is the crazy guy who threatened to kill Squirrelflight’s “kits” because of what she did to him. I don’t personally dislike Ashfur, actually…
Anywayz, let’s get to the point. Here’s how it all started: (If you are still on the Prophecies Begin or you do not read them in order (Like me.🙃) and you have not read the New Prophecy books yet, I suggest you stop reading right here.) Squirrelflight got in a fight with Brambleclaw, and Ashfur saw his chance to really hit it off with her. Squirrelflight ended up sort of liking Ashfur back, and they were mates for a little while. THEN Squirrelflight made up with Brambleclaw and totally dumped poor Ashfur! So anyway, Ashfur got really angry. And you know the rest. If Squirrelflight had chosen Ashfur, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze wouldn’t have gotten a death threat. And Hollyleaf wouldn’t have killed Ashfur, so he’d probably be alive and well. Also, most importantly, the secret about Leafpool’s kits would’nt have been revealed. Then Hollyleaf would not have spilled it at the Gathering, and Leafpool would still have her place as med. cat. So… yeah. But this change in the plot has it’s ups and downs. If Squirrelflight mated with Ashfur, Alderheart and Sparkpelt would’nt have been born. Then Alderpaw wouldn’t have gone on the quest to find “SkyClan”, but Darktail and his rogues would not have any scent trail to follow to get to the lake, and lots of cats would not have died. And ShadowClan would not have been that broken apart, so Rowanstar could still lead properly. Then Sparkpelt would not have had Flamepaw and Finchpaw, her kits. (That does not really matter though, because they didn’t add anything to the story, really.) But sadly, Squirrelflight would probably have not been made deputy. NOOOOOO SQUIRRELSTAR MUST PREVAILLLL!!!!! So anyway, those were some things that could have happened. Things that would have changed the plot in Warriors completely. Thoinkz for reading!!! Squirrelstar furever!!!

  • Interesting article! I hadn’t considered all the ways that Squirrelflight and Bramblestar’s legacy had affected the books, so that was cool to read.

    That said, I agree with what Blossompaw and Mellowix and probably some others have already said, Ashfur would be an awful mate 😛 being friendzoned isn’t fun, but it really, really, reallllllly should not be enough to prompt anything near the scale of what he did. I do not think their relationship would have been healthy, and it probably would have created a whole new branch of conflict.

  • i agree that ashfur being her mate would have a different twist BUT ashfur would not become the imposter and rule the dark forest so i suppose it depends on how the story works.

  • Actually, I would rather have Ashfur as Squilf’s mate since Bramble (his leadership has been revoked) is a very bad mate to Squilf, he’s abusing her (Moonkitti’s video ‘Bramblestar is Worse’ goes into pretty good detail on that)

  • WHAT IF SQUIRRELFLIGHT CHOSE ASHFUR?
    . The Clans would be safer
    . Ashfur would’ve probaly become deputy
    . Squirrelflight would be happier
    . Alderheart, Sparkpelt, Dandelionkit, Juniperkit, Finchpaw and Nightheart wouldn’t have been born
    . Hollyleaf and Bristlefrost would’ve been alive!
    . Brambleclaw would’ve become dumber and become a true villain.

    • Why would the work? Just because he is with Squirrelflight doesn’t raise his chances of being deputy. Firestar has a stronger relationship with BrackenFur, GrayStripe, and BrambleStar/Claw. Firestar only helps AshFur and his sister from the cold and being around when Ashfur was born, be apart of the fight against the dogs.

      So, Ashfur would’ve been more abusive than anyone else. His first through after being friend zone is get pay back? How would that make Squirrelflight happy? Do you want her to be a more abusive relationship? Ashfur doesn’t care for her feelings, it basing ”Choose me or I will make you pay”

      Did Bramblestar tried to murder anyone or harm her family, no. No he didn’t. We never knew what her feelings for Ashfur were, it was maybe.

      No, just no. Bramblestar wouldn’t been a villain, yes he trained in the Dark Forest not for power but to be closer with his brother. You just like every Ashfur stan.

  • But would’t ashfur and squirrelflight have kits and what would be their names and also isn’t ashfur the clans most evilest cat because he believed he would destroy star clan and the dark forest and what would’ve happened with bramble claw would’t he of mated with another cat and who is that other cat?

  • Yes. I agree. but to add some things…….. If she did pick ashfur than bristlefrost wouldn’t have died. if she did pick him than his “revenge” would be gone. and Rootspring and bristlefrost would have had their life. and Willowbreeze would still be alive. but if you ask me, I’m glad the way the Erins made her choose bramble claw/star, because Idk it just makes the story more intresting.
