A Look at the New Warrior’s book + Analyzing new cast! by Hurricanepaw

Hurricanepaw shares their hype for the upcoming arc, A Starless Clan.

Hello! Hurricanepaw here, and today the new warriors book for the 8th arc, A Starless Clan, “River” was released.

AND IT IS GORGOUS OH MY STARCLAN-

So a notice that today is 5/14/21, and it usually takes 1-3 months for an article to be published- so take all this in from the perspective of an over exited warriors fan who just got the most excitement ever!

I would like to warn you- spoilers for AVOS and everything after it, as I will be talking about Flamepaw, Sunbeam, and Frostpaw!

So first let’s look at the cover!

WOW WOW WOW WOW! I love this cover! Its stunning background, Mistystar in the front, Frostpaw on the far left, Flamepaw next to her, and Sunbeam on the right! But somethings strange.. Oh gosh. COULD IT BE???? RIVERCLAN! RIVERCLAN! FROSTPAW HAS ANSWERED OUR DESPRET CRIES!

The blub can be found on the warriror’s website, but I’ll read it to you now! “A dark age has given way to an era of peace in the five warrior Clans, and with it comes a promise of hope. As their leaders deliberate on unprecedented changes to the warrior code, three young warriors set their paws on the paths that will decide their futures.” and a description by the new characters is “In ThunderClan, warrior apprentice Flamepaw, a descendant of the legendary leader Firestar, struggles under the weight of his famous kin’s legacy, while young ShadowClan warrior Sunbeam has doubts of her own. But in RiverClan, medicine cat apprentice Frostpaw looks eagerly toward the horizon, awaiting the day she will be called upon to help her Clan—a day that may dawn sooner than she ever dreamed.”

Hm. Well one thing for sure. We don’t have much of a Firestar bloodline, or a Tigerstar one! Hooray! I hope Flamepaw’s isn’t just “oh no, my great-grandfather is cool”

But today, I wanted to take a close look at the main characters from what we know about them.

First let’s start at ALL MIGHTY THUNDERCLAN PROTAGONIST THAT WONT GO AWAY, Flamepaw!

Flamepaw’s blurb suggests that he’s concerned about living up to Firestar’s legacy. Like Alderheart. Hm. As far as we KNOW, about this cat, he’s suffered great loss. His brother, Flickerkit was stillborn, and his father died just as he was born. Not knowing his father or his brother, and already a great weight of legacy put on him, he might wanna turn to his mother. Except she wasn’t there for them; she was suffering grief. Flamepaw was also the only one of his family NOT so be exiled by the imposter. Also… He’s very late for his warrior name. Interesting!

Sunbeam is a young warrior and Needtail’s little sister. She’s pretty normal except for the fact she wasn’t born inside of the clans, and was taken back in Tigerheart’s Shadow. Not much is known about her yet. But she’s pretty so HUZAH! NOT related to Firestar!

Frostpaw is A RIVERCLAN CAT OH MY

Ahem

Frostpaw is a Riverclan medicine cat apprentice. After WIllowshine’s death and Mothwing growing old, Riverclan needed a new medicine cat fast. Frostpaw wanted(?) to be one, so she’s now the new apprentice. I can only see two possible directions with her relationship with Mothwing. Either Mothwing is cold and a bit unwelcoming due to her being bitter about Willowshine, or her being welcoming, patient, and a bit too accepting of Frostpaw due to her being sad about Willowshine and happy to have a cat that reminded Mothwing of her.
