A rant on the warrior code by Firefall

Firefall shares their opinions on the Warrior Code.

Official art by Wayne McLoughlin

FYI: This was written last year but I only thought to post it right now, I did it as a free write at school

Code 1: Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan.
I don’t get the point of this one. You should be able to have friends everywhere and not have to fight!
Code 2: Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.
Cats should be able to hunt wherever they want to hunt. No limits. Alright, sure, Dappletail and White-eye almost died.
Code 3: Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
I agree that kits must be fed first, but the elders. The elders just sit around doing nothing.
Code 4: Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
This is like, the only code I believe in. You should not kill prey for fun! Especially during winter, because there is barely any prey.
Code 5: A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Alright, I believe this one too. Kits are fragile, they need to grow. I thank Daisytail and Oakleaf. Brokenstar should not have made kits apprentices. Badgerpaw was only 3 moons old, and he died during training.
Code 6: Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
This is pointless. Who would do that? In winter, that is pure torture. Some of the warriors of WindClan were mouse-brains, though. Thank Meadowpelt and Troutstar for finally knocking some sense into those warriors.
Code 7: A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
This is just..smart. Deputies and leaders are the mentors to the Clan. Acorntail was not the smartest deputy though. He was right to ask for an apprentice.
Code 8: The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
Alright, this should be a natural rule. This should always be the way, it always has been. Mothpelt was dumb. The DEFINITION of deputy basically means that!
Code 9: After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
What a chaotic mess Brightwhisker made. ShadowClan must have had a bad time.
Code 10: A gathering of all Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
If the Clans had a massacre at a Gathering, who will attend the next? I agree that Clans should not fight at this time. StarClan will not be happy.
Code 11: Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
See Code 2. NO LIMITS!
Code 12: No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
Hollyflower was smart to save the ThunderClan kit from a fox, but it was Tigerstar Sr.
Code 13: The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
This is the warrior code. Not the leader’s word. That is the entire point of this.
Code 14: An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his or her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
Poor Spottedpaw. He did not need to die. Cats cannot just kill like that. Cats can injure, but should never kill.
Code 15: A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
Pinestar. *shakes head*. He became a kittypet. (Sort of). Sure, Firestar started as a kittypet. But that does not mean you always are one.
Hope you enjoyed!

  • good article BUT ( no offense in any of this though )

code 3: its there becuase elders served their clan longest, and deserve to be taken care of.

code 2: there are bounderys becuase then theres no clans?? like if you dont want bounderys then go to the tribe of rushing water

code 6: thats to prove that the newely appointed warriors are patient enough to become warriors, also yeah, in winters its painful, but the whole point of them is to reflect on your actions, what you will do in the future, and thank starclan for whatever.

code 8: its there just in case cats are being dumb. nothing else.

code 11: go to tribe of rushing water people-

thats just my opinion- sorry fi ya dont like it πŸ™‚
