Pinestripe shares some facts about Honeyfern.
My favorite Warrior cat might be a minor character, but she’s a really interesting character, too. There are some pretty cool facts about her, so I’ve collected a bunch into this article.
Here is a list of fun facts about Honeyfern!
-Honeyfern and her siblings were the first cats born in the new ThunderClan territory.
(Daisy’s kits were born before them, but they were born at the horseplace- not the ThunderClan territory.)
-Honeyfern was part of her mother’s first litter.
(Along with her littermates Cinderheart, Molepaw, and Poppyfrost.)
-Honeyfern was born during the badger attack- a dangerous time.
-Honeyfern looks a lot like her mother Sorreltail.
(This is mentioned by Hollykit in The Sight.)
-Among her littermates, Honeyfern is the one who resembles her father most.
(Brackenfur and Honeyfern both have brown tabby pelts.)
-Honeyfern was the only cat seen interacting with her brother Molepaw.
(In Leafpool’s Wish they were playing together. That was the only scene involving Molepaw due to his early death.)
-Honeykit knew most of the hunting moves before she was even apprenticed.
(Sorreltail mentions this during Honeyfern’s vigil.)
-Honeyfern had close interactions with all of the original “Three.”
(With Lionblaze when she helped him hunt as an apprentice, with Hollyleaf when she confided in her about her crush on Berrynose, and with Jayfeather when she saved him at the Moonpool.)
-Honeyfern is the first cat in the main series to have the prefix ‘Honey’.
(Honey Pelt was a cat in the prequel series Dawn of The Clans, Honeytail appeared in SkyClan and the Stranger and Hawkwing’s journey, and Honeyleaf in SkyClan’s Destiny. Honeyfur was the only cat besides honeyfern mentioned in the main arcs and she was born after Honeyfern.)
-Honeyfern is one of the only three Warrior cats with the suffix ‘fern’.
(The other two are Fallowfern and Firefern.)
-Honeyfern was the only non-SkyClan cat to have the suffix ‘fern’.
(Fallowfern and Firefern are both from SkyClan.)
-Honeyfern was the only warrior to have kindness mentioned as one of her virtues during her ceremony.
(Alderheart is the only cat beside her whose kindness was mentioned as a virtue, but he was becoming a medicine cat, not a warrior.)
-Honeyfern often sleeps late.
(Throughout Power of Three, she is often mentioned as being the last apprentice still asleep in her nest.)
-Honeyfern’s grandfathers were the cats to escort Rusty (later Firestar) to camp for the first time. Both were also deputies in The Prophecies Begin.
(Lionheart and Whitestorm are both Honeyfern’s grandfathers.)
-Spottedleaf is Honeyfern’s great-aunt.
(Spottedleaf is Willowpelt’s sister and Willowpelt is Honeyfern’s grandmother.)
-Honeyfern has SkyClan blood.
(Through Spottedpelt, who is related to Spottedleaf and therefore Willowpelt.)
-Honeyfern is a descendant of the SkyClan leader Cloudstar.
(Cloudstar is Spottedpelt’s father.)
-Honeyfern was by Firestar’s side when he lost his sixth life.
(He lost that life during the greencough epedemic, and Honeyfern, along with Brightheart, was pressing wet moss to his lips.)
-Honeyfern’s sacrifice wasn’t her only interaction with Briarkit- she already showed fondness and care for the kit before that.
(During the Greencough epedemic Honeyfern comforted Briarkit in the abandoned twoleg nest.)
-During the time of the Dark Forest cats rising, Honeyfern was the first of many StarClan cats to fight the Dark Forest warriors alongside the living cats.
(During the battle at the Moonpool. This is shown in the Fourth Apprentice, as well as stated by Yellowfang.)
-As a StarClan cat, Honeyfern fought Brokenstar’s spirit, and won.
(During the Moonpool battle.)
-Honeyfern saved the lives of both Jayfeather and Briarlight- two major characters who later become close friends.
(She died saving Briarkit from a snake, and later saved Jayfeather from Breezepelt and Brokenstar at the Moonpool.)
-Honeyfern’s spirit was present during the birth of Cherrykit and Molekit- Poppyfrost’s kits.
(Her spirit was sensed by Jayfeather.)
-Honeyfern’s niece shares her prefix.
(Honeyfur’s mother Lilyheart is Honeyfern’s sister.)
-Honeyfern is a great-aunt to two main protagonists- Bristlefrost and Flamepaw.
-Honeyfern’s birthday is in the beginning of Newleaf.
(This is shown in the events timeline on the official warriors wiki.)
-Honeyfern had the same mentor as her mother.
(Sandstorm mentored both Sorreltail and Honeyfern.)
-In the Russian translation of Warriors, Honeyfern’s name is Медобока. It’s pronnounced “Medoboka” and translates to “Honey Flank.”
(I know this because I speak Russian and looked up her translated name on the wiki.)
-Honeyfern’s name autocorrects to “Honeymooner.”
(Other names: Honeypaw autocorrects to “Payphone,” and Honeykit to “Honeypot.”)
-Honeyfern’s great-great grandfather is Adderfang- his name being a strange coincidence considering Honeyfern died of an adder bite.
-Honeyfern likes honey- an interesting coincidence since she’s named after it!
(In Eclipse, Honeypaw is among the apprentices who are excitedly trying the honey Cinderpaw brought.)
