Silverkit analyses the anger Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze feel to Squirrelflight – was it justified?
to answer this we have to look at after the truth came out about her not being their mother. when she told them, they were mad about her lying to them their whole lives, obviously. and I think that’s fair. but then they started ignoring her and/or not talking to her.
now I don’t think this behavior is fair. did squirrleflight really have a choice? if she hadn’t agreed to take leafpool’s kits then leafpool would have probably been banished. and no one would want their sister to be banished! especially if it’s your fault.
then why didn’t she tell them earlier? well, she didn’t tell them when they were kits because kits probably would just go tell people.
and when they were apprentices, they already had so much going on with training and a prophecy, they didn’t also need for their “mother” to tell them she wasn’t their mother and she had lied to them practically their whole lives.
then she didn’t tell them when they were young warriors is because, again, they were busy with figuring out their prophecy. but, the truth had to come out eventually. I think that leafpool and squirrelflight told them at the right time because they were warriors and had experience under their belt.
and also I think that leafpool telling hollyleaf when she did was a good thing, because she went into the tunnels, and later that helped thunderclan defeat windclan in the battle in the tunnels caused by sol.
so the way they treated her was not fair, but I do understand. but she definitely should have told brambleclaw before then. I mean he did think he was their father! and it was definitely not fair to treat leafpool unkindly too. she is their real mother after all. and I understand why she couldn’t tell firestar. if he knew he would have to banish leafpool and maybe even squirrelflight. he would maybe even have to banish the kits to because they were born against the warrior code. I’m so glad they eventually stopped being mean, especially since jayfeather and leafpool have to work together.
eventually, they saw the truth and became the amazing warriors, and medicine cats, they are.
Great article!
cool
I agree with this. I haven’t read Leafpool’s Wish, but I doubt Squirrelflight didn’t had any choice.
She had no choice. He sister and starclan were all forcing her to do something she didn’t want to do and being jerks.
They were so stupid. She didn’t have to take the kits. Ferncloud would have taken them in gladly.
I disagree. The writing is so horrible in Leafpool’s Wish that it seem like Leafpool is a hypocrite, liar, and all Starclan cats are idiots. (Which is true) In Omen of the Stars, Squirrelflight tells them that she took them for her sister. (Contradictory)
Omen of the Star: 2006
Leafpool’s Wish: 2016
This is why I think LW is not credible.
Yep! It’s great. I would be SO MAD if
Firestar pulled an Oakstar and banished innocent kits. It’s not their fault- kits can’t choose who they’re born to. Or if they’re born at all. Just sayin’.
Again, really good article! 👍
Yeah Oakstar in Mapleshade’s Vengeance was just sooo cruel
I know! He shouldn’t have banished her! Plus, him banishing Mapleshade, also led to his daughter, Frecklewish, being sent to the DF.
#Frecklewish4Starclan!
Nice article!!!
i agree.

I respect your opinion, but I believe the opposite. Squirrelflight isn’t at fault too much though, it’s Leafpool. I think that she shouldn’t have had half-clan kits in the first place, and giving them to her sister just wrecked it further. If they hadn’t done this, Holly, Jay, and Lion would have had a much better life. Leafpool giving the kits to her sister also destroyed Hollyleaf emotionally and mentally and resulted in the death of Ashfur.
I respect your opinion as well, but I don’t really think Leafpool could control having half-kits. Her love for Crowfeather was too strong, and she DID try to control it, but eventually she couldn’t. And anyway, her sister was the only one present during the birth of Jay, Lion and Holly and I don’t think Leafpool would have wanted to give birth to them, then leave them abandoned. Yeah, it sure did make Hollyleaf go crazy, but it was because of her obsession of the warrior code. But yeah those are my thoughts, totally respect yours ^^
They would never have been banished fire star wasn’t that harsh and there’s no code about cats being exiled for breaking it, so not sure why oakstar did that to maple shade
awesome article! I totally agree!
