Icefall15 explains some family trees
Hello, people of BlogClan! It is my pleasure to write you guys an article about the best book series ever.
Did you know that Dovewing and Bumblestripe are actually related? Well, it’s true. Dig in your claws because we’re about to dive deep into the Warrior Cats family tree.
Let’s start off with Dovewing’s side of the family. Dovewing’s mother Whitewing is Brightheart’s first daughter. Brightheart is in the same litter with Cinderpelt and Thornclaw. Thornclaw is Blossomfall’s mate. Blossomfall is Bumblestripe’s litter-mate. That’s how Dovewing and Bumblestripe are actually related. Besides, it never really worked out for them. Sorry to all the Dove x Bumble shipping people out there.
Also, it’s a good thing that Bristlefrost and Stemleaf didn’t become mates because Ivypool is Dovewing’s sister. Ivypool’s daughter is Bristlefrost, and Blossomfall and Thornclaw’s son is Stemleaf. So, there you go that’s how they’re related. Also, sorry to all Bristle x Stem shippers.
Did you know that Rootspring is related to Fallowfern? Rootspring is Violetshine and Tree’s son and Twigbranch is Violetshine’s sister. Twigbranch’s mate is Finleap and Finleap mother is Plumwillow. His father is Sandynose. Plumwillow’s mother is Fallowfern. This basically means that Bristlefrost is also related to her because ( and this is just my opinion, it does not have to be yours ) I sort of love Bristle x Root so, I kind of think think that they’re mates. But on the other hand, I don’t like their relationship because it’s ( this is my opinion and does not have to be yours ) a bit too classic.
Now lets go to Dovewing and Bumblestripe. Since Dovewing had kits, that means that they’re also related to Bumblestripe, Blossomfall, Thornclaw, Cinderpelt, Brightheart, Cloudtail, Whitewing, Snowbush, Dewnose, Ambermoon, Ivypool, Fernsong, Thiftear, Flipclaw, and Bristlefrost. But, these kits aren’t Bumblestripe’s.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
The kits are actually Tigerheart’s ( Tigerstar II ). Dovewing and Tigerstar II became mates and had three lovable kits: Shadowsight, Lightleap, and Pouncestep.
This means that Dovewing is related to all of of Tigerheart’s side of the family. Which means that she’s related to Tawnypelt, Tigerheart’s mother, and through Tawnypelt she’s related to Brambleclaw, whose mate is Squirrelflight, who’s father is Firestar. And Squirrelfight’s sister is Leafpool who is mother to Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf. So the prophecy was not wrong when it said, “ Three will be three, kin of your kin, will hold the power of the stars in their paws.” The Three are no kidding kin.

Actually, mates technically aren’t related unless their parents are. Your relative having a mate don’t actually count as related to the family, but Dove nad Bumble are distantly related!
Bumble’s great great grandmother is Flashnose, who’s the sister of Daisytoe. Daisytoe’s daughter Moonflower had a kit, Snowfur, who gave birth to Whitestorm, Birchfall’s (Dove’s father) grandfather! So they are in some way related, but not close

OMG wait Bumblestripe’s father is Graystripe, whose mother is Willowpelt, whose mother is Swiftbreeze, whose mother is Flashnose, whose sister is Daisytoe, whose daughter is Moonflower, whose daughter is Snowfur, whose son is Whitestorm, whose daughter is Ferncloud, whose son is Birchfall, whose daughter is Dovewing. Did I get that right? Also, aren’t Bristlefrost and Stemleaf also related as well, distantly? Stemleaf’s mother is Blossomfall, whose father is Graystripe, whose mother is Willowpelt, whose mother is Swiftbreeze, whose mother is Flashnose, whose sister is Daisytoe, whose daughter is Moonflower, whose daughter is Snowfur, whose son is Whitestorm, whose daughter is Ferncloud, whose son is Birchfall, whose daughter is Ivypool, whose daughter is Bristlefrost. I don’t see the relationship between Rootspring and Fallowfern, but I think that Twigbranch and Finleap are distantly related. Twigbranch’s mother is Pebbleshine, whose mother is Tinycloud, whose half-brother through Clovertail is Sandynose, whose son is Finleap.

Many of the WC fandom despise Bumblestripe because of how he treats Dovewing when he tried to court her. I am included in this majority, as I also strongly dislike Bumble. BUT! I understand his view, he wants Dovewing to be his mate, but you just have to take no as an answer and not get angry, instead, be supportive! A good example is Bluefur and Thrushpelt. Thrush wants Blue to be his mate. Blue is m8s (former-mates?) with Oakheart, and bears his kits. Thrush knows that Blue does not want to be together with him, and chooses to foster-father the kits, as most of the Clans believe that ThrushxBlue is a thing. Thrushpelt, instead of being angry or lashing out at Blue for not choosing him, he turns to kindness and support. This is what I like about Thrushpelt. This could have been BumblexDove, but Bumble chooses to be angry and lash out, pressure Dove, ask other cats to ask Dove if she likes him, ETC that makes the fandom hate him. This is what I hate about Bumblestripe. No is acceptable, if not a little sad. You cannot always get your way, and you must deal with that. Its Dovewing’s choice too. This also KIND OF applies to Finleap TC and Twigbranch TC, with Fin wanting kits w/ Twig very much, Twig says not yet, Fin gets angy kitty. This is my opinion, and you do not have to agree or disagree. Im just stating what I think could have been if both Bumblestripe and Finleap were supportive of their mates and not mates. Finleap accepts Twigbranch’s answer EVENTUALLY, but he still got mad in the first place. Bumblestripe, however, is QUITE mean to Dovewing when she finally has enough of B’s mooning. Great article! However, mates are actually not related to each other unless their parents are related. Also, even if you’re distantly related to your mates doesn’t mean that it’s a bad relationship. Also, Dovewing and Bumblestripe are very distantly related in their own ways. Dovewing’s father is Birchfall, whose mother is Ferncloud, whose father is Whitestorm, whose mother is Snowfur, whose mother is Moonflower, whose mother is Daisytoe, whose sister is Flashnose, whose daughter is Swiftbreeze, whose daughter is Willowpelt, whose son is Graystripe, whose son is Bumblestripe. Then again, Bristlefrost and Stemleaf are also related to each other. Take that first family I listed above. Birchfall’s other daughter was Ivypool, whose daughter is Bristlefrost. This means that Bristlefrost is related to Bumblestripe. Now, Bumblestripe’s sister is Blossomfall, whose son is Stemleaf. Now, given the fact that mates technically aren’t related, then Rootspring and Fallowfern aren’t related. However, Twigbranch and Finleap are related. Twigbranch’s mother is Pebbleshine, whose mother is Tinycloud, whose half-brother through Clovertail is Sandynose, whose son is Finleap. Also, the prophecy in Power of Three that says “There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws” is referring to another connection between Firestar and Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf. Firestar’s daughter is Leafpool, who was the mother of the Three. Or, if you count Dovewing as the third member, Firestar’s sister is Princess, whose son is Cloudtail, whose daughter is Whitewing, whose daughter is Dovewing. Nice article!

Dovewing was related to Bramblestar anyway because Whitewing is her mothers whose father is Cloudtail whose mother is Princess whose brother is Firestar whose daughter is Squirrelflight whose mate is Bramblestar.
I hated Tigerstar 2 because he always thought that since Shadowsight was his son and he has ‘messages from Starclan’ that you always will have to look up to Shadowclan and that Shadowsight will never be wrong, and yeah, personally I never felt interested reading those chapters. But anyway, incredible article Icefall.
You have like two million cats to write down once you go bam! Down with Firestar. Also windclan blood in Lionblaze so that meant that all his kits had windclan blood and their kits as well! Firestar is related to Pinestar Graystripe I found out and Bluestar just because of Two kits. Squirrelflight’s son was Alderheart whose father was Brambleclaw, Leafpool was Crowfeathers ‘mate’ so windclan blood runs in Thunderclan. And in the one of the books is says Lionblaze is descended from Lions’ Roar, Jayfeather is descended from Jays’ wing and Dovewing is descended from Doves’ wing. So. Yeah.
So many cats are related, both Dovewing mates are related to her lol!
