Underrated Warrior Cats and Why They Deserve to be Favorites by Meadowpaw

Meadowpaw discusses underrated Warrior cats, and gives reasons why they deserve to be favorites.

Greetings, and salutations Blogclanners!  I’m back with another article!  This time, I will be talking about the most underrated Warrior cats (In my opinion) and why they deserve to be favorites!  Let’s get started!

#14  Tawnypelt
Tawnypelt was born into ThunderClan, but moved to ShadowClan as an apprentice.  She was one of the chosen cats to go on the quest to the sun-drown place.  Later, she mated with Rowanclaw, and had 3 kits.  For such an amazing warrior and mother, Tawnypelt receives little recognition.  She shows bravery, and courage on the sun-drown place quest.  Later, when ShadowClan is falling apart, she stands by her mate, defending him, and keeping her Clan’s spirits up when all seems lost.  Even when it looks as if her ENTIRE family is dead (Tigerheart has selfishly run away at this time) Tawnypelt holds her head high, and helps to guide her Clan through it’s toughest moons. In conclusion, Tawnypelt deserves much more love, and notice.   

#13   Willowbreeze
Willowbreeze was the daughter of Fallowtail of RiverClan, and Reedfeather of WindClan.  She was the mate of Crookedstar, and mother to Silverstream.  Willowbreeze saw past Crookedstar’s hideous injuries to the cat he really was.  She not only helped Crookedstar to come out of his shell when all of his Clanmates shunned him, but she was kind, and thoughtful to everyone around her.  

#12  Featherwhisker
Featherwhisker was the brother of Sunstar, and medicine cat of ThunderClan, when Bluestar’s leadership was just beginning.  He was also apprentice to Goosefeather, who was the uncle of Bluestar.  Featherwhisker is so patient and gentle.  You would have had to be to put up with Goosefeather in his later moons.  He shows great medicine cat skills, taking care of the entire Clan when he was barely a full medicine cat.  He stands by his mentor when the Clan turns against him after the battle with WindClan.  Featherwhisker gently guides young Spottedleaf when she is confused about whether she is meant to be a warrior, or medicine cat.  He serves his Clan with quiet loyalty and encouragement.  Featherwhisker really deserves more appreciation.  

#11  Rowanberry
Be honest, be honest, how many of you have ever given the sister of Yellowfang?  Her only appearances are in Yellowfang’s Secret, and Tigerclaw’s Fury.  Rowanberry is probably one of the best Warriors siblings of all time.  She is always there for Yellowfang, and they are very close.  Rowanberry’s kindness is demonstrated in a scene in YS, when Yellowfang is upset, and runs out of camp.  Rowanberry follows her and comforts her, telling Yellowfang that she will always be there for her.  It is obvious how much she loves her kits, Cinderfur, and Stumpytail.  When Yellowfang is accused of murdering Marigoldkit and Mintkit, Rowanberry stands by her sister’s side, and defends her, when Yellowfang’s OWN MOTHER was one of the accusers.  And Rowanberry’s name is adorable.  

#10  Brindleface
Brindleface was the daughter of Robinwing and Fuzzypelt, sister to Frostfur, Dustpelt, and Ravenpaw.  What stands out most to me about her character is her willingness to accept the weaker members of her Clan, and take them under her wing.  She suckles Cloudtail when he was a newborn kit, when she had literally just lost TWO of her kits, and she was just dumped by Whitestorm.  She cares for him as if he was her own son, even though he is a kittypet.  She always exhibited kindness and loyalty to her Clan.  I was so mad when Tigerstar murdered her.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 

#9  Dappled Pelt
Dappled Pelt was one of the first cats to journey from the mountains and settle in the forest.  She was the first medicine cat of RiverClan, and one of the most influential cats in the first days of the Clans.  Dappled Pelt is so gentle and caring, but she is not afraid to speak her mind when needs be.  She is a skilled medicine cat, and shares her gifts with others, teaching them and guiding them as a mother hen her chicks.     

#8  Firefern
Firefern was the daughter of Leafstar and Billystorm.  She shows a fierce loyalty, but also a self-sacrificing kindness to her Clanmates.  Even when she knew that she could catch the sickness that plagued SkyClan when their medicine cats were missing or captured, she cared for the sick cats when no one else would.  When her Clan is falling apart around her, she sticks with it, standing strong.  In the end, Firefern loses her life in service to her Clan.  I wish we got to see more of Firefern’s character because she is truly awesome.  

#7 Harestar
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Harestar?  Seriously Meadowpaw?”.  Hear me out.  Harestar, while he may be an unlikely leader, is a good one.  He cares for his Clanmates, putting their needs before his own.  He works hard to prove how much his Clan means to him after the battle with the Dark Forest.  He puts his all into being the best deputy for WindClan.  You may dislike Harestar for being a DF trainee, but Harestar was deceived.  Just like Ivypool and Tigerstar 2 were deceived.  All in all, Harestar deserves a little more recognition.  

#6  Cody
This sweet, but sometimes sharp-tongued kittypet was captured by Twolegs at the same time as Leafpool.  While imprisoned in the Twoleg nest, Cody was the one to lift Leafpool’s spirits, and the spirits of all the cats in the nest.  She could have returned home after the cats were freed, but she CHOSE to go to ThunderClan, not knowing if she would ever return.  She showed kindness and selflessness while she cared for Birchkit.  She was willing to give up so much for cats she had literally just met.  That reflects on her self-sacrificing spirit, and warm heart.  

#5  Barkface
Barkface was born to Brackenwing and Redclaw.  His brother was Shrewclaw.  What strikes me most about Barkface is his trust and kindness.  He was always a great friend to Talltail.  He encouraged him, and helped him after Sandgorse died.  He was a very skillful medicine cat, devoted to helping his Clan.  Barkface was so trusting, believing in Talltail when no one else would.  I just absolutely love their friendship!  We need more platonic friendships like this in Warriors!  Barkface served WindClan loyally, nurturing every cat around him until his death.  

#4  Whitewing
Whitewing is absolutely one of the best moms in Warriors.  She cares for her daughters, loving them no matter what.  She gently guides them, but lets them make their own choices.  Unlike some overprotective mothers, *cough, Millie, cough* or careless mothers, *cough, Rainflower, cough* Whitewing knows when to help her kits, and when to let them learn from their mistakes.  But she is always there, supporting them and loving them.  And to top it all off, she is a brave and loyal warrior.  

#3  Cow
Me: If you remember Cow from Moth Flight’s Vision, raise your hand!
Me: *raises hand*
Everyone else: ………………………………….
Why is such a sweet, kind-hearted, and motherly cat so ignored!  She is, by far, the kindest cat in Warriors.  She cares for Micah and Mouse like they are her own sons.  When poor Moth Flight stumbles into their barn, Cow instantly takes her under her wing, being like a second mother to her, and making her feel safe, protected, and at home.  After Micah dies, Cow travels all the way to the ShadowClan camp, just to visit Moth Flight.  Even though Cow must have been hurting, as Micah was like a son to her, Cow pushes away her grief, gently comforting Moth Flight.  Cow is so seriously underrated!!  I really wish we got to know what happened to her.  

#2  Brook
Brook is so loyal and fierce, but gentle and loving as well.  She was born into the Tribe of Rushing Water as Brook Where Small Fish Swim.  She is a caring sister to Talon, and a loyal member of the Tribe.  She and Stormfur are SO CUTE together, and their ship is totally underrated.  She follows Stormfur to the Clans, leaving EVERYTHING she has ever known behind.  She tries her best to adapt to Clan life, even though it must have been so strange to her.  She argues strongly for Millie’s acceptance into ThunderClan, demonstrating how she isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in.  And she is willing to forgive her old Tribemates for pretty much disowned her, and proclaimed her dead to them.  Topping it all, she is an awesome mom.

#1  Leafstar
Leafstar was born a rogue, and lived in the forest by SkyClan’s gorge.  What I love most about her is her perseverance, her undying faith in StarClan, her compassion, and her peaceful nature.  Even when Leafstar is angry, she keeps a firm hold on her temper, and works out the situation with words, not claws.  She remains strong in her faith in StarClan, and that faith carries her through tough times.  She puts her Clanmates’ needs before her own, showing kindness and empathy in all she does.  She rules SkyClan fairly, using justice.  When her Clan is falling apart around her, she doesn’t panic, but uses wisdom and clear discernment to glue the shattered remains of SkyClan back together.  I can’t even imagine the pain she must have been in!  She lost her mate and one of her kits when Darktail’s rogues attacked the gorge, and the Firefern died when she contracted the sickness.  Yet, she pushes all of the grief aside to care for, and shepherd her Clan.  Leafstar is so resilient and strong.  Her Clan had to move four, FOUR TIMES!!!!!!  How many of the other leaders could have kept their Clan together through all of that?  Speak now, or forever hold your peace.  Leafstar succeeds where lesser cats would have failed *cough, Tigerstar 2, cough*.  And still, she receives no recognition, or appreciation for everything she has accomplished.  Leafstar is MORE than worthy to be a favorite.
