Frostkit wonders who would’ve been a better mate for Brightheart.

Hey! It’s Frapple! (Osprey came up with the nickname. Bow to them. UwU) Anyway, I’ll be writing ANOTHER article, and it’s on Brightheart and who we ship her with.

(Note: I will NOT be attacking BrightCloud in this article.)
(Another note: I will be a bit biased here, so try not to get too offended if you’re a BrightCloud shipper. Which you probably are. :P)

So, you’ve obviously noticed the title. (And if you’ve read my attacking BrightCloud article, you’d know that I dislike the ship. If you don’t know WHY, I won’t be going over that in detail again, so go ahead and look at the other article about BrightCloud, if it got published, obviously. 😛 Just in case, I’ll go over everything with not as much detail.) Since BrightCloud is not my favorite, I’ll be going over BrightSwift, (Brightheart x Swiftpaw) which some people surprisingly ship, including me! 😀 I’m not going to put much more into this intro because you’ve read the title, and you know what I’m going to be doing. Let’s get started!

I’ll just quickly review Swiftpaw and his history with Brightheart first. So, Swiftpaw is not really that much of a big deal. He’s a side character who is just a normal apprentice. He decides he wants to attack the dogs in the first place because he wants to prove to Bluestar that he is worth becoming a warrior or something? My memory is a bit rusty, sorry. Anyway, he happens to take Brightpaw with him. They attack those dogs, and they kill Swiftpaw, and severely injure Brightpaw. You might be saying, “Frapple, why do you ship these cats if they barely know each other?!” And if you’re wondering that, just know that Swiftpaw and Brightpaw were shown to be good friends. A lot of people also think they would be cute together, so that’s how the unpopular ship came to be. So, that’s basically all of the history of them being together. 😛

Now, I’ll talk about the quite overrated ship, BrightCloud. So almost right after Brightheart gets injured, Cloudtail suddenly starts hanging around with Brightheart, and spending a lot of time with her. And Brightheart doesn’t seem to mind. After Brightheart gets better, she and Cloudtail develop a relationship, and they eventually become mates. But a while later, Daisy comes into ThunderClan. Cloudtail gets connected with her. Brightheart gets jealous and feels dumped because Cloudtail (I keep typing ‘Cloutail’!!! kslfuhsiepjofdkjhreuipo) isn’t really spending much time with her anymore, and is sitting around, and hunting and training with Daisy. Soon, Cloudtail breaks his bond a bit with Daisy so they don’t feel attracted to each other, and Brightheart and Cloudtail are back together. So that’s basically it!

So, now I will be giving bad points about BrightCloud, and I’ll be countering that

  • And sorry, I support Brightcloud, which is one of the most beautiful ships in the Warriors world. I mean, Bright and Shrew were never shown to have interactions, let along signs of affection! They were good friends, yes. But not EVERY good friends ends up being a couple! And um… just to prove the point… I er…. didn’t really eh…. *Draws in deep breath* (I am totally NOT embarrassed) I didn’t even know people are shipping this! But I think I’ll save the rant for later in my article. One more thing, I am named after Cloud!

  • swift×bright is overhated 🙁 everyone keeps calling swiftpaw a brat, but he was the equivalent of a teenager in age and personality. so, yes, he was a bit immature 😛 but i like that about him! i think swift×bright is a wonderful yet exaggerated reminder of dumb teenage love 😀

    I disagree , unfortunately 😛

    Swiftpaw kind of rubbed bad behaviours onto Brightpaw. She’s a sweet cat, but Swiftpaw’s immaturity kind of got to her. Why?
    While Swiftpaw is alive, she’s pretty stuck up, but as soon as he dies, she’s a great cat 😛

    Also, Cloud x Bright is very healthy, and they care for each other heaps 🙂

  • Although I see your points with Brightcloud, they can easily be countered with (from your last article) You can totally dislike the ship though!! Here comes my defense oh no

    1. When Cloudtail spent time with Brightheart right after she got her injury.

    No one except the med. cat was actually trying to help Brightpaw, sure Cinderpelt helped her recover physically, but we don’t have any scenes of Cinderpelt trying to help her recover. Bluestar named her Lostface, a possible factor to even more trauma, Firestar, although worried, wasn’t spending that much time, Anyone else, just not there. Cloudtail didn’t act in a creepy manner, he was trying to help her recover, and was genuinely helping her, emotionally, he was the only comfort she had, because everyone else was not there for her. He got her back on her paws when no one else was, and figured out a whole new method of training just so Lostface could become a warrior. He helped her become the warrior she is today, he helped her stand up, he helped her recover from trauma.

    2. The Daisy issue

    Okay, I understand this, yet I can still say that Cloudtail loved Brightheart. Okay, Cloudtail isn’t really the smartest cat. He sort of doesn’t know why Brightheart is angry at him. Quote: “Cloudtail didn’t seem to realize the strength of Daisy’s feelings. “I still think you should come,” he argued. “There’ll always be a place for you. And every cat misses you. I know Brightheart does.”

    Clearly he is absolutely clueless about both Daisy and Brightheart.

    • 3. The pairing

      Just because two people have different personalities doesn’t mean they won’t get along. In fact, Brightheart’s calmness made Cloudtail less reckless, and Cloudtail’s outgoing-ness made Brightheart more confident. Lostface needed more confidence to be able to overcome what had happened to her, and to be able to to accept it, to make others accept her, to accept herself. Cloudtail needs to be more careful, more calm. It works well, they both influenced each other in an extremely positive way. Swiftpaw however, made Brightpaw really aloof and influenced her into bad decision making.

      That’s has been my over-the-top defense for Brightcloud. Anywho I’m not saying that your opinion isn’t valid! Again, You can totally dislike the ship!! Just adding some stuff here and there, I think that Brightswift would’ve been interesting, maybe if Swiftpaw had survived they could both help each other overcome trauma? Also, sorry that your article got caught off, oof. The commentary on Swiftpaw and Brightheart was really nice.
