My Opinions on the Warrior Code Part 1 by Mintypaw

Mintypaw shares their opinion on the Warrior Code.

Hi BlogClan! It’s Minty! I wanted to share my opinions about the Warrior Code with you today! I wonder if many of you will agree with me or not..
Let’s get started!

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

I think this code is okay. I mean, this is why the Clans exist, right? If there wasn’t this code, then there won’t be Clans. Your Clanmates are like kins. So everyone will defend their Clan, since they’re like families.

2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.

No need to say anything. This is a code that everyone must keep if they don’t want a fight.

3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

Umm, I think this is a good code. But if the apprentices or warriors are so hungry that they won’t be able to hunt, some of the weakest should eat, or the best hunters should eat first so they can catch more prey. Otherwise, elders and queens and kits should be fed first.

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

What would cats do with caught prey besides eating them? I have no idea. Thanking StarClan is no problem. You just thank them for the prey they “provide” them.

5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

I totally agree with this code. No need for explanations.

6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

I think this is just a tradition. If it wasn’t, I’m not sure why they need to do this. They would be tired in the morning, and they’ll definitely want to go on a patrol as a warrior for the first time. They could be tired very soon or sleepy. So I think this isn’t necessary.

7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

I’m…not sure. The part I agree with: A warrior with experience will be able to guide better. The part I disagree with: If the finest warrior, who’s most fit to be a deputy, didn’t have an apprentice before, then who would become the deputy?

So part 1 ends here! Wait until part 2 comes out! I hope you liked the article so far! See you at part 2! Thanks!
