Frosttail argues why cats should be allowed to switch Clans.

Hi! I’m Frosttail! This is my first article and I’m going to explain why I think cats should be allowed to switch clans. So let’s take a look at cats who have fallen in love with a cat from another clan.
Mapleshade
Graystripe
Crowfeather
Dovewing
Rootspring
I think there are other cats but I don’t remember them. By the way, I only listed one of the mates from each pair of cats. Wait I forgot Bluestar! she fell in love with Oakheart!

Idea 1 :
So I think if cats like a cat from another clan, they should think about it a lot. Then, they tell their leader. If their leader says yes, then the cat is allowed to go to the clan if the clan leaders both say yes. So if cats switch clans cats wan’t be like CODEBREAKER!!!!! every time they see that cat who switched clans. The cat who switched clans will also be happy with the cat that he or she loves, and they won’t meet in secret like Tigerheart and Dovewing then run away like they did.

Idea 2 :
idea 2 is that the clans could create a neutral area that all calls cats can go, kind of like the gathering places ( Fourtress, Island ) so if a cat likes a cat from another clan they can meet in the neutral place and avoid getting into trouble! if the cats really love each other then they can do idea 1. That would be fixed!

When two cats. like each other they want to see each other in gatherings, right? Some people might think, hey they can just see each other at gatherings! Then they wan’t be sad! Nope! Still sad. They can’t be together every day! and if they run away like Crowfeather and Leafpool and Tigerheart and Dovewing then they would be in trouble… So that’s why I think cats should be allowed to switch clans. I think the solution is a good one and this article was inspired by Bristlefrost & Rootspring but they didn’t become mates because Bristlefrost died… 🙁 also I likes Bristlefrost as my favorite character so I changed my name from Crystalflight to Frosttail.

I’m thinking of writing more articles but for me it’s so hard to get 350 words I’m not even sure this article has 350 words so after I’m done I am going to check how much words I have and if you are reading this then I have 350 words if you are not then I must sound totally bizarre right now, talking to air particles…
That’s the end of my article! Hoped you liked it!

  • Hey, Frosttail ;-] Great article and I really liked your idea about having neutral area! But I still have some parts that I don’t completely agree.

I don’t totally agree with you because allowing to switch Clans can cause various kinds of chaos. Warriors would feel confused and lost finding out where their loyalty lies, and if warriors are allowed to switch Clans, some Clans might have worries about lacking warriors. Asides that, there might be more problems that I can’t exactly explain (partly because of my lack of grammar)

But I half-agree with you, too, because we’ve seen many tragic love stories (?). And as you said, it would prevent making more codebreakers! Great article, Frosttail. You’re idea was fresh and new ;3 I really liked ur article.

  • I am not so sure. My option, I like the clans that way it’s. I don’t want to change it. I think cats should not switch clans. Like what happens if too many cats switch clans. Then there will be no real clan cats. Just half clan cats. No way, I think no cats should ever switch clans. Btw, I like your name.

  • True that cats switching Clans legally would be nice,

But wouldn’t that cause some imbalance in Clans? I feel like it somwhat would. What about Loyalty? Wouldn’t this entirely ditch the idea of honour? (Or honor, Not sure what)

Either way, Great job with the article, It’s a good idea

  • I don’t think cats being allowed to switch Clans would damage the ideas of loyalty or sacrifice. The system of values in Warrior Cats is quite outdated, to be fair. Not that loyalty or honour are bad, but they are seen in a way that is untrue. Clan cats are taught that their loyalty should always lie with their place of birth and blood family. Which is not true; a cat, as well as a person, should be able to choose who they want to be loyal to. And even when they decide their Clan is not where they belong, they are banned from returning. May StarClan light your path wherever you want to go, all bridges behind you are burned! It’s not how the world works. You can have multiple places and people dear to you. Having a mate or friends in another Clan shouldn’t force you to completely abandon your former home.

Now, I know that “Clans fight, loyalty to your kin etc.”, but if I were to be honest, Clans fighting is a concept that belongs in the rubbish, too. Through seven series, we could already observe that the Clans are better off when they unite. I do not think they should form one Clan, but should live in peace, with an ability to visit friends and family, organise events like “school exchanges” – and mates could visit each other if they didn’t want to switch Clans.

  • OMG yes! I agree with your artical,Frostail. It’s too much drama for clans to get in a fight just because these 2 little cats just mate then run away or whatever they do to get together. I like it much better if they just join clans non-secretly,like I said,on the other hand, the other way is too much drama.

  • I sort of disagree, it would cause chaos throughout the Clans and it would be hard for cats to stay loyal. I think that warriors should be able to take a mate from another Clan, provided that they don’t have an apprentice or deputy duties, if the she-cat has kits then the kits will always stay in the she-cat’s Clan, unless the she-cat dies in childbirth, then they’d go to the tom’s Clan, provided that there is another queen who can nurse the kits.

Good article, Frosttail! This article is clearly a very unique, fascinating description of an idea that could most probably help a large array of love-stricken warriors! I agree that a neutral meeting location would be a rather good idea… but it would most likely eliminate the drama of forbidden romances, which might annoy some particular fans. The ‘changing Clans’ rule might be assistive to secret relationships, but if the leader had ultimate power over the decision, cats might never be able to ‘follow their heart’ if their leader refused the switch. Great job!
