Hi, it’s me Blossompaw ( Blossomleaf) with my first ever article, all about what is the better pair- Leaf+Crow or Feather+Crow!
So, we shall start with Leaf+Crow.
Leafpool and Crowfeather. Why are they good?
Well, for a start, they actually loved eachother. Crowfeather and Nightcloud certainly didn’t love eachother; they only became mates so Crowfeather could show his loyalty to WindClan. And he hated his son, Breezepelt. Crowfeather and Feathertail only liked eachother of how Feathertail behaved towards him, so it was more of a childhood ( apprenticeship?) crush than actual love. And in the Great Battle, he turned his back on Feathertail to be with Leafpool. And she loved him back. ” She couldn’t forget the thek in Crowfeather’s eyes”. Also, if they hadn’t become mates, Power of Three would never have happened.
Crowfeather and Feathertail.
So, as I stated above, it was a childhood crush, and also she was a warrior and he was an apprentice. That’s like a fully grown adult being in love with a secondary school kid! THough they did love eachother as well, because when Feathertail died, he was sadder that she died than Stormfur, her own brother.
Crowfeather and Nightcloud?
Well, he only took her as a mate to prove his loyalty to WindClan! So he definitely didn’t love her, and he hates his son, Breezepelt. And he practically broke up with her, as, in Power of Three, he is only mentioned once with her; when Jayfeather ( Jaypaw then) saved Lionblaze ( Lionpaw then) and Breezepelt ( Breezepaw then) from a collapsing badger burrow. So, yeah, we can definitely agree that he didn’t love her.
Now, time to announce the winner! Kits, apprentices, warriors, elders, queens, deputies and leaders of all the Clans, ( StarClan, SkyClan, ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan) drumroll please!!!!

I’ve noticed that too, and I’m getting tired of it, though I am a strong defender of Leaf x Crow.

Great article! Can we also talk about this one little Crow x Leaf scene in POT that goes over everyone’s heads? Remember when Jaypaw saved Breezepaw and Lionpaw from that burrow? Leafpool says something along the lines of this.:
“Thank you.” – Crowfeather.
“I’d do anything to save your kit, Crowfeather.” “You know that.” – Leafpool.
“Can we focus on OUR kit?” – Nightcloud.
LOL. I will NEVER forget this. They still love each other, regardless of what Crowfeather claims in his SE. And Nightcloud is furious. I love it. I can’t decide whether to be a Crow x Leaf shipper or a Moth x Leaf shipper, but I might go with Crow x Leaf, just because I see Mothwing and Leafpool have a deep friendship and bond to help each other. Re-reading the books, it all seemed platonic.

Nice article! I agree with Night x Crow, but I disagree with your other points.
Romantic relationships usually start with a friendship, and friendship generally requires people to be nice to each other. Yes, Feathertail was kind to Crowfeather, which was sweet because she was willing to forge a friendship with him when the other cats in their traveling group basically branded him as a grumpy old cat unworthy of their kindness.
Feathertail’s friendliness was the spark to their relationship, but there’s no proof that Crowfeather loved Feathertail just because of her kindness. And being nice to each other doesn’t make it a silly crush. Those are just key factors in a healthy relationship.
I don’t recall Crowfeather turning his back on Feathertail to be with Leafpool? Could you please elaborate on what you meant?
And having kits that became the Power of Three doesn’t make a relationship good. Take Tom and Turtle Tail for example: they had Sparrow Fur, who became SkyClan’s deputy, Pebble Heart, who became an talented ShadowClan medicine cat, and Owl Eyes, who became the second ThunderClan leader. All three are important, strong characters, yet that doesn’t change the fact that Tom x Turtle is a toxic ship.
The age difference between them isn’t too shocking when you think about it! There’s only a year and two moons between them. Compare that to Fernsong and Ivypool or Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw…
And technically, Crowpaw was already warrior-aged by the time he left on the journey. It’s indicated many times that he would have been made a warrior if he hadn’t went on the journey. Think of it more like a 30 year old loving a 34 year old.

Feather x Crow is certainly not a Highschool crush. Feathertail died for for Crowpaw. Crowfeather only loved Leafpool because she remained him of Feathertail.
I agree that Feathertail was not a high school crush in a stereotypical meaning (often based on appearance, lack of a particularly strong bond) – though it did have the element of a deep young love. It’s very clear Crowfeather’s personality was not yet completely developed, while with Leafpool he was already the cat he was going to remain for a lifetime, with a few adjustments later on. He mourned Feathertail deeply and loved her deeply, but he was not mature (not age-wise, he was like eighteen or nineteen. He just didn’t experience many things, a person needs to grow on their own and shape their own moral compass to build lifelong romantic relationships, while Crowpaw did not). But they did love each other more than typical “high school crushes” – without hating on young couples, cheers to every and each of them.
The last sentence is completely untrue, though. Crowfeather never speaks of Leafpool in a manner that would indicate her similarity to Feathertail. From Secrets of the Clans:
“Feathertail understood me, and she listened to me. Her eyes were the clear blue of her river home. […] But then I met Leafpaw. She was kind and patient. Her voice was like water flowing over pebbles, and her scent had hints of wildflowers in it.”
Nowhere it is said that Leafpool reminded him of his deceased sweetheart. He admires their different qualities, even as a kind of contrast. Plus, he says many times that he didn’t want to fall in love after Feathertail died, that he found it unfair to her and that he just wished to be a good warrior. In this situation, he probably wouldn’t go around looking for the first she-cat that showed similar traits.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by Crowpaw as not developed because he was a fully developed character when he met Feathertail. Also when you showed the part from secrets of the clans you cut out some of the Feathertail description out. The rest of what you said makes no sense to me whatsoever. Leafpool was not thinking of her family or her clan when running away . The love that both Crowfeather and Leafpool had for each other was no more then a Feathertail replacement for Crowdeather as well as it was plain foolish. They didn’t think things through before the left the clans after only 2 moons for being in a romantic relationship. As well as the scene on the cliff in Thundercats camp just shows how much Crowfeather thought Leafpool was Feathertail.
I support Leaf x Crow thank you for finally stating that it’s way better than Feather x Crow! All of the Feather x Crow fans better read this because it’s completely true! And also it kind of proves that Moth x Leaf is pretty bad too.
