Bumblestripe: a disaster waiting to happen? by Finchclaw

Finchclaw takes a look at Bumblestripe.

Hi, I’m Finchclaw! Today I’ll be discussing one of my least favourite warriors characters; Bumblestripe! If you aren’t familiar with him, Bumblestripe is a thunderclan warrior who is the former mate of shadowclan queen, Dovewing. Now, i’m a Tigerheartstar x Dovewing shipper (haven’t read Tigerheart’s shadow yet, though it’ll be a while until i do so) but i won’t allow this to get in the way. Bumblestripe actually used to be my favourite character, since I discovered warriors in my school’s library via The Forgotten Warrior. Of course, this obviously changed!
But here’s the thing; Bumblestripe is definitely up to something shifty.

Let’s do a quick recap!

Bumblestripe is the son of Graystripe and Millie, his siblings are Blossomfall and Briarlight. In OOTS, he ends up becoming the secondary love interest of Dovewing. They end up breaking up (thank starclan) presumably because of Bumblestripe insisting on her having kits with him. I’ve seen many Bumblestripe defence posts claiming he was kind and simply asking her to do so, but that’s clearly untrue.
I mean, what would YOU do if your ex-boyfriend asked you out at your friend’s funeral?
So, Dovewing leaves to shadowclan to be with Tigerheartstar and Bumblestripe gets salty.

Now, i know what your thinking, “Finchclaw, i don’t see how an angry ex could destroy Thunderclan…”
Well, sit down and get ready for this bombshell.

In TBC, Bumblestripe is shown to be one of Ashfur’s biggest supporters. He’s also the one who snitched on Squirrelflight when she tried to seek help from Skyclan. He was visibly proud during this, with no regret whatsoever. He does end up getting away with it by apologising later on in the books though. But what if I told you that I think Bumblestripe was lying?
Think about it; Ashfur is an angry ex lover, so is Bumblestripe. We can visibly see how paranoid and angry Bumblestripe currently is in Spotfur’s rebellion, when he nearly kills her during a prank pulled on him. OOTS Bumblestripe doesn’t seem like the cat to do that sort of thing, but a cat taking after Ashfur does.

I think that if the writers play their cards right, Bumblestripe could be a truly terrifying foe.
