Rosesplash wonders how deep Leafpool and Crowfeather’s relationship was.

Hello, BlogClan, Rosesplash here! In my last article, ‘Analyzing Squirrelflight’, I said that I’d do one single analysis on a character and an analysis on a cannon/headcanon ship. Today, we’re going to be doing a cannon ship, (So the next article will be a headcannon, I like things being fair) Today we’re going to analyze Leafpool and Crowfeather’s relationship. In part of the article, I won’t be biased and for the other, I will go on my personal opinions. (If you ship Leafpool and Crowfeather, I support you 100%) *SPOILERS FOR TNP AND SO ON*
Alright, let’s begin. So, Crowfeather began to develop feelings for Leafpool shortly after the death of Graystripe and Silverstream’s kit, Feathertail. She died saving the Tribe of Rushing Water from Sharptooth, a mountain lion that was picking them off one by one. Crowfeather (paw at the time), was close to Feathertail, and Feathertail’s brother, Stormfur, had his doubts because Feathertail thought that since they weren’t in their actual Clans, she could get close to Crowpaw and not be punished later on. (In my opinion, Feathertail is JUST like her mother in every way. She looks like her and ACTS like her. Silverstream had the “My father is CrookedSTAR and I can do WHATEVER I want since I’m his little kit.” Sorry, I don’t like Silverstream OR Feathertail very much.) ANYWAY, Feathertail died and Crowpaw was heartbroken. Tallstar decided while the Clans rested at the Tribe of Rushing Water to give Crowpaw his warrior name. But Crowpaw requested he was named Crowfeather, after his love, Feathertail. Tallstar agrees and after, Squirrelpaw becomes Squirrelflight. Here’s where things get interesting. In a fight, Crowfeather has to save poor Leafpool from getting impaled by the sharp stones. Now, this is where it all started. Crowfeather saved Leafpool and began to have trama because he wasn’t able to save Feathertail. If you think about it, Leafpool is just a brown version of Feathertail. I’ll give quoted descriptions. Leafpool: a small, lithe, pale brown tabby she-cat with amber eyes. She has a white chest and paws. Now Feathertail: a slender, silver tabby she-cat with sky-blue eyes. Close enough. Besides, both she-cats are very kind and friendly. Leafpool might JUST be nicer. So of course Crowfeather is going to tell HER his feelings that were probably for Feathertail. Maybe he thought Leafpool WAS Feathertail and Leafpool believed him. She’s kind of gullible for that. Anyway, so they run away together and then go back and Cinderpelt died. So why did Crowfeather love Leafpool? The easy answer: Leafpool is a brown Feathertail. Both she-cats are loving and understanding and Crowfeather is attracted to cats like that I guess?
Alright, I’m satisfied with my answer. Thanks for reading, see you next time! If you want to, leave me some suggestions for my stand-alone analysis of my next character! Have a fantastic day/night!
Great article! That’s an interesting theory.
Great Article! Your theory is interesting! I agree with 100% of the things you said in here.
The whole ‘Leafpool is a brown Feathertail’ thing is pretty fair, Technically all cats are the same with different colors in different places + Different fur lenghts
Great article! Interesting theory 🙂
great article! I love LeafXCrow and it makes total sense that Crowfeather would be attracted to kind, empathetic cats after being really insecure for most of his life
Great Article!!
great article Leaf X Crow is one of the best ships in my opinion
Oh My StarClan another article of mine :0 I hope you enjoy! <3
Also, update, I know ship these two, so it's funny to see myself write an article on why I DON'T TvT
Leafpool = Feathertail 2.0
(1) Good article! I partly agree with you and partly don’t. I share your perspective on Crowfeather liking considerate and empathetic she-cats, but I don’t on Leaf x Crow being superior to Feather x Crow or Feathertail being a bad character.
Leafpool was a nice character; I’m not saying that she wasn’t. But, in my opinion, she was less compassionate than Feathertail. Feathertail wasn’t always the kindest to begin with, but her development of processing her grief and letting go of the past added to her character, reinforcing her kindness. And Leafpool often behaved unkindly: she belittled and discriminated against Jayfeather, she pressured Squirrelflight into adopting her kits, she completely disregarded Feathertail’s feelings for Crowfeather even when the she-cat was clearly saddened, she didn’t tell Crowfeather the truth… in reality, Feathertail is a much better character in terms of her actions towards others and her demeanor in general. It’s not that Leafpool is a bad cat… she’s just not the best.
(2) As for Leaf x Crow, I found their relationship unhealthy, overly dramatic, corny, underdeveloped, and a dozen other things. Although Leafpool and Crowfeather technically had some development during Dawn, this development was made up of only a few brief interactions, which is certainly not enough moments together for the cats to begin feeling romantic emotions. And, after admitting their ‘love’ (it was more of an infatuation), they had only a few meetings before deciding to run away from the Clans. Crowfeather didn’t force Leafpool into the decision, but Leafpool wasn’t honest with him… because she didn’t trust him enough. Leafpool also attempted to alter herself so that Crowfeather would like her more, and Crowfeather sort of assumed of few things regarding Leafpool’s loyalty. He said that he was fine with her returning to ThunderClan – but then, when Leafpool was alone, he snarled at her and insulted her, and Leafpool did as well! Time passed, and the tension between them grew and grew. In Crowfeather’s Trial, Crowfeather states, “…but our love had faded.” He then goes on to think about how much better his and Leafpool’s relationship was when they were friends, then adds that he’s glad that he has Leafpool as a friend. Leafpool and Crowfeather may have had a passion for one another, but it was short-lived and they have a much better dynamic as friends rather than mates.
(3) Also, Feathertail might have a few personality traits inherited from her mother – her stubbornness and courage – but it’s unfair to call her identical. For one thing, Feathertail never had a father as a leader in her Clan. Graystripe was the deputy of ThunderClan, but having a parent in a position of power somewhere else than your home doesn’t create the privileges that Silverstream enjoyed. Secondarily, let’s truly scrutinize Feathertail and Silverstream. They’re both pretty silver she-cats with blue eyes. So what? Appearance is hardly a factor in true similarities, especially between mother and daughter, when it’s very likely for the kit to have those dominant genes. Meanwhile, their personalities differ. Silverstream is confident, graceful, strong, stubborn, and sassy, whereas Feathertail is empathetic, caring, cordial, intelligent, slightly sassy, stubborn, sometimes grudge-bearing, and courageous. They only share two attributes and this doesn’t make them the same.
Anyways, sorry about that long rant. 🙂 Great article!
