Happy Birthday, Dawnshimmer !

It’s Dawnshimmer’s Birthday !

You wake up to the vaguely jarring beeping of an alarm clock; it’s morning and the sun shines brightly through the window, the rays of light momentarily making you squint. Beside you is a cream coloured envelope, made of thick paper. Strange. You didn’t remember putting it there. Picking it up, you turn it over, in neat cursive on the front is written “Dawnshimmer”. It must be meant for you, then. Carefully, you open the envelope and extract the contents.

Inside the envelope, you find a card. It is quite large, so takes you a good few seconds to pull it out, taking care not to bend or damage it. You look at the card, curiosity filling your face as you wonder who sent it. Sitting down on a nearby chair, you decide to open it, prying apart the edges of the two piece of card delicately with your fingers.

The card opens up and you take a quick glance around you before starting to scan your eyes over the words. Inside, the message reads:

“Dear Dawnshimmer,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!! ❤️🎉✨🎁

We hope you have the most wonderful day ! We’d love to know what you’re getting up to – tell us in the comments ! Are you having a special birthday breakfast ? A birthday cake ? Are you celebrating with your friends and/or your family ?

You close the card, a smile on your face. You place the card on top of your set of drawers, and make your way over to the window. The colours of dawn are still faintly perceptible: soft blues that fade into golden and then crimson.
