Silverkit takes a look at The Prophecies Begin.
Hi and welcome to my third article. Today we’ll be taking a look at the storyline of all the arcs (apart from the new arc A Starless Clan) and also giving my opinion on how much I liked them, just know that this is all my opinion and you are more than welcome to share what you think down in the comments. With that out of the way, lets start!
( Warning, Spoilers for TPB!)
The Prophecy’s Begin
POV: Firepaw.
Ah, the arc where it all started. Let’s kick it off with Into the Wild. The book’s biggest moments are when Rusty (Aka Firestar) becomes a Clan cat and meets Bluestar and Graypaw (Aka Graystripe) both of them playing a big part in the arc, with Graypaw being the cat that gets into trouble with Firepaw and Bluestar the wise leader that keeps Firepaw and Graypaw in line as best as she can. The other thing that starts the whole plot off is Ravenpaw rushing into camp claiming that Redtail is dead and afterward introduces the infamous Tigerclaw (Aka Tigerstar 1) who claims that he killed Oakheart in revenge for Redtail. However, this is a lie as Oakheart died in a rockfall and Redtail was murdered by Tigerclaw although no-one suspects Tigerclaw. Lionheart is named as deputy and life continues. Skipping forward, Tigerclaw is now deputy, Lionheart dies in a Shadowclan attack and Windclan has been missing for a while. Fireheart then finds Yellowfang, the grumpy Shadowclan Med-cat, after breaking the warrior code. Firepaw, along with a patrol, bring Yellowfang to camp, where they hold her prisoner for a while, until Thunderclan kits are abducted due to Brokenstar’s warns them about a “kit killer” who all of Thunderclan (apart from Graypaw and Firepaw) believe is Yellowfang. Spottedleaf is also murdered by an anonymous assassin who they later find out to be Clawface. Then after a bit of talking, Bluestar sends Graypaw and Firepaw out in secret to find out whether Yellowfang really took the kits. They then track Yellowfang down where they meet the Thunderclan patrol Bluestar sent out to find Yellowfang openly. They find out it wasn’t Yellowfang but rather Clawface who abducted the kits. Brokenstar is also driven out. They find Ravenpaw a new home in a barn. Again skipping ahead, they visit Ravenpaw who tells them in more detail about Redtail’s death and are given their warrior names, Graystripe and Fireheart. They begin their vigil and then the book ends.
Rising storm.
POV: Fireheart.
Since this article would be very long otherwise, we are skipping Fire and Ice and Forest of secrets to the 5th book, Rising storm.
I do have to say some things in the middle though.
1. Bluestar knows that Ravenpaw isn’t dead.
2. Windclan is back.
3. Fireheart has had Cinderpaw as an apprentice.
4. Silverstream is dead.
5. Fireheart meets Princess and she gives him Cloudkit ( Aka Cloudtail).
6. Windclan and Shadowclan attack Thunderclan over Brokentail ( Aka Brokenstar).
7. Tigerclaw has been exposed.
8. Brokentail is killed by Yellowfang using Deathberry’s
And now I’ve done all that let’s start the the book of Rising Storm!
Fireheart is deputy now and is worried about Bluestar. Fireheart accompanies Bluestar as they journey to the Moonstone but are stopped by a Windclan patrol and told that they have lost the right to go to Highstones where the Moonstone is located. Cloudkit is apprenticed to Fireheart and after a while gets abducted by Twolegs. However, after a quarter moon Ravenpaw shows up and tells them where Cloudpaw is, they rescue him and Graystripe leaves Thunderclan to go to Riverclan. Then after a dream from Spottedleaf, a fire starts and destroys Thunderclan’s camp also killing Patchpelt, Halftail and Yellowfang who admits to killing Brokentail though Fireheart already knows. Thunderclan takes shelter at Riverclan’s camp but leaves after a while. Skipping forward on the timeline, A sickness in Shadowclan kills Nightstar and Cinderfur and Tigerclaw is revealed to be the new leader of Shadowclan. The book then ends.
A Dangerous Path
POV: Fireheart.
Bluestar declare’s war on Starclan at the Gathering. Cloudpaw is given his warrior name, Cloudtail, but the other apprentices are not due to Bluestar not trusting their mentors, two apprentices, Brightpaw (Aka Brightheart) and Swiftpaw go to find the prey-stealers how turn out to be Dogs, they kill Swiftpaw and maim Brightpaw, who is renamed by a mentally unstable Bluestar Lostface. Clan life goes on until Whitestorm reports smelling dogs at Snakerocks, Fireheart then goes to investigate and finds a trail of rabbits that lead to Brindleface’s body at the end. Thunderclan go to Sunningrocks and devise a plan to get rid of the dogs. By leading them all the way to the Gorge, Fireheart nearly dies but Bluestar, who’s minds clears in the face of Fireheart about to die, pushes the leader of the pack of dogs over the edge taking her with the dog. Fireheart jumps in after her and, with the help of Mistyfoot ( Aka Mistystar) and Stonefur, Bluestar’s kits, make it to the bank. But Bluestar has breathed in to much water and after asking her kits to forgive her ( They do), dies. Fireheart becomes Firestar and, after receiveing his nine lives, confronts Tigerstar, along with Bloodclan who he has allied with. But the Bloodclan leader, Scourge, betrays Tigerstar and kills him, taking all of Tigerstar’s lives with his claws that are reinforced. Scourge tells Firestar that he has three days to leave the forest. But Firestar makes a plan to unite all the clans to form Lionclan. After losing one of his lives and defeating Scourge, Bloodclan is stopped and the clans live in peace, the book and arc then ends.
Opinion:
I thought that this was a good arc since I enjoyed it a lot and always stayed interested in it, unlike one of the arcs I read. I also enjoyed the main character’s point of view and the cats we meet, just to list a few, Graystripe, Bluestar, Tigerstar, Ravenpaw, Cinderpelt and Yellowfang. It didn’t annoy me as most of the arcs do and always had a lot happening in the arc, as in my opinion there isn’t as much happening in the other books.
Hope you enjoyed the article and please give me feedback on how to improve it and/or if you liked it.
Bye and see you next time! Silverkit.
