Howdy it’s Vinepaw,
On this article I’ll be talking about Why I hate Bluestar.
Ok to start off with I don’t exactly hate her, she has had here moments when your like WOW Bluestar is a great leader she is like my favorite character. But there have been some moments your like FOR GOODNESS SAKE BLUESTAR THINK WOULD YOU!!!!!
Here are the reasons why I hate her:
1. She buried her child in a snow hole.
Ok to start off this reason I’m just gonna say… WHY DID YOU BURY YOUR CHILD IN A SNOWHOLE!!!! I know you were like “oh this should keep them warm!” Turns out it doesn’t and it’s one way you kill a child. R.I.P Mosskit we all feel for you.
2. Oakheart
Oh dear dear Oakheart, you have been pushed away from your mate. She refused to let Oakheart come and join the clan and she just GAVE him her two kits and a kit corpse and then you were like in my words: “Have a fun life! I’m off to be deputy now and do fun stuff without you! Byeeeeee!” So geez lady get your game together!
3. Self isolation
You like isolated yourself after you found out Tigerclaw was evil! *Slaps* Lady you have to be there for your clan not just let your new deputy AKA Firestar do allllll the work for you! Anyways…
4. Declared war on Starclan.
Ok for once I wish she never went to gathering. She 1. Claimed that Windclan was stealing the prey even after Fireheart told her it was the dogs! 2. She said that Starclan has gone against Thunderclan. And 3. SHE DECIDED IT WOULD BE A “FUN” IDEA TO DECLARE WAR ON STARCLAN!!!!
5. In Starclan
Ok so you guys all know mapleshade. Yes? Good. So you know how her kits died and went to Starclan? One day when Bluestar was patrolling Starclan borders. At the edge of the border Mapleshade was giving her kits badger rides Bluestar just walked up to them and took them off her!!! 😡 who would do that?!
Ok I hope I’ve got my point through! 🐱

Wait hold on when did Mapleshade give her kits badger rides? I don’t remember that ever happening in StarClan….
Personally, I don’t like Bluestar, but not for these reasons. The snow hole thing was actually a good idea, being in the ground sheltered the kits from the wind and snow is a really good insulator! (That’s how ppl in igloos don’t freeze to death)
2. I hate BlueXOak but she didn’t give him Mosskit’s corpse (she buried Mosskit in the ground so foxes wouldn’t get her)
3-4. I agree, her mental health decline and the weird times where she lashed out at everyone went on for way too long.
I mostly hate Bluestar because she made up with StarClan like a second before she died and then she’s just this all-knowing, obnoxious cat in StarClan

Great article! I do have 2 things to say, though.
1. Mapleshade gave her kits badger rides? Well, it’s possible; The Dark Forest and StarClan are right across each other. I never read that Mapleshade gave her kits badger rides, but I like it! Mapleshade needs to spend some time with her kits.
2. I don’t get why Bluestar (Bluefur then) suddenly liked Oakheart. Didn’t she used to like Crookedstar (Crookedjaw then)? Kind of confusing…
But to sum up, nice job, Vinepaw!
It isn’t really Bluestar’s fault she had these flaws! She suffered dementia which partially led to her death! Also she knew she should give up her kits because if Thistleclaw became deputy and then leader he is going to lead ThunderClan to war and endless bloodshed. Everyone is gonna die if it weren’t for Bluestar.
And I can confirm the last reason didn’t happen because Mapleshade is in the Dark Forest.
I know, I like Bluestar (better than Firestar, he suck) I apologize for being angry.
Great article! But I have one thing to say about her going mentally insane after Tigerclaw(Star) tried to kill her.
Well many things have happened before to her. Her father was murdered (I’m pretty sure) Her mother died her sister died, she fell in love with a cat from a different clan and then one of her kits died and then she had to give up her kits and watch them grow up loyal to RiverClan, she is also old and seen many loved ones die. So I think having your deputy someone you trust turn on you may have been her last straw and she just couldn’t take it anymore. But again great article and you have some really good points!
Hello, I am here to note that Bluestars father was Stormtail, the most awful cat in the series. He pretty much never spent time with her as a kit or and apprentice and just spent time with his girlfriend, Dapplepaw. He also didn’t care in the least when moonflower died and bluestars only father figure was really Sunstar/fall
Maybe you think she is losing her mind on purpose but Bluestar was a deeply committed leader during her era. Maybe you need to read her SE so that you really understand why she became crazy mad. With that out of the way, she also sacrificed herself to save her clan from the dogs. She only blames StarClan for all the tragedy she has been through, like how Brightpaw lost her eye.
OK Mapleshade did not give her kits badger rides. Why? Because she’s in the Dark Forest! Dark Forest cats and StarClan cats DON’T mix. And no the snow hole was to be sheltered from the wind and rain. Bluestar declared war on StarClan because what Tigerclaw did probably traumatised her and her mental health went really down hill. I do agree that giving her kits away was a bad idea as well
Ok, about Mosskit, EVERYONE seems to forget that in the scene when Blue gets her 9 nine lives, Mosskit gives her one and Bluestar APOLOGIZES and Mossy baby forgives her and tells her to move on.
Also a lot of it was Goosfeather’s fault coz, I mean, he did say to be leader she’d need no kits, and I think by the time she became deputy her kits would be apprentices. He was also responsible for CROOKEDSTAR BREAKING HIS JAW.
ugh bluestar get your game together I swear! also, one thing I want to add is how she treats poor innocent thrushpelt. she ruins his day, ditches him, makes him sad, and I guess I can’t blame her for getting irritated at her clan for shipping her with him but that isn’t really his fault? also, her relationship with oak was just really rushed and bad. like he flirts with her a few times at gatherings and then meets up with her once. it’s giving elementary school crush vibes XD
