Rating Ships That Don’t Exist But Totally Should by Silverdusk

Silverdusk rates fan-made ships.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about a few ships that don’t exist, but totally should. A lot of fans ship two characters, but their not officially together. So I’ll be going through some and rating them!

1) JayxBriar

I’ll give this one a 8/10.
I don’t think that Jayfeather and Briarlight do have romantic feelings for each other, but this ship is still cute.
Jayfeather likes Half Moon, but it’s possible to love more than one person.
I think JayXBriar is nice because Jayfeather and Briarlight have always been there for each other. When there was a landslide, Jayfeather was seen trying to protect Briarlight.
And we all know how grumpy Jay is. Yet he still shows affection for Briar and she returns it.
The only reason the rating is an 8 is because of Half Moon.

2) TallxJake

Yes! Just yes. These guys are a 9/10.
One could argue that Tallstar and Jake are just friends, but I think they could be something more.
The only reason this ship is a 9 is because Jake has 2 other mates.
And in Pinestar’s Choice, Jake is shown to be smitten with Quince and I’m pretty sure this is after he met Tallstar.
And Jake was also mates with Nutmeg.
But I think part of Jake’s heart will always be with Tallstar.

3) RavenxBarley

10/10.
Ravenpaw and Barley would make an amazing couple. They’re best friends and have been together for years. And neither tom has shown any interest in another cat. They get a 10/10 because there’s actually nothing wrong with this ship except maybe the age difference?

4) SquirrelxCrow

I give these cats a 4/10. Squirrelflight and Crowfeather are quite similar–they are both quick-tempered cats with sharp tongues and fiery personalities.
But this often leads to arguments between them. And has anybody noticed that the cats that Crowfeather has truly loved are more soft-spoken, gentler cats like Feathertail and Leafpool? Not at all like Squirrelflight.
Though it would make more sense for Crowfeather to fall in love with Squirrelflight, who he had time to bond with on their journey, instead of Squirrelflight’s sister, but oh well.
And I think that FeatherxCrow and LeafxCrow are adorable couples and that both she-cats are well matched for Crowfeather in a way I don’t think Squirrelflight would be.
And Squirrelflight just doesn’t seem like the sort of cat Crowfeather would like and vice versa.

5) SquirrelxLeaf

5/10.
Squirrelflight and Leafstar do have some chemistry together. They got to spend a lot of time with each other when they were prisoners in the Sisters’ camp. I think that they could work out quite well, but Squirrelflight is obviously very deeply in love with Bramblestar and Leafstar probably is waiting to be with Billystorm again. So for the reason that both she-cats like another cat, I don’t think this would work out.

6) FirexGray

2/10.
This ship is…weird. I can sort of understand how Graystripe and Firestar’s close relationship could be misinterpreted as a romantic thing, but I seriously doubt their relationship is actually a disguised romance.
Graystripe and Firestar are best friends, not lovers. Graystripe is in love with Silverstream and Millie while Firestar is mates with Sandstorm and had feelings for Spottedleaf.
That doesn’t leave much room to be secretly in love with each other.
These two are close, but not that close.

7) CloudxPebble

1/10.
I only discovered his ship a little while ago, but I decided to put it on the list.
Cloud Spots and Pebble Heart aren’t mates and they don’t have any romantic feelings for each other. Cloud Spots is basically Pebble Heart’s mentor.
They are close because they bonded over their shared love for herbs and healing.
Also Cloud Spots is as old as Pebble Heart’s parents. That’s just gross.

8) JayXStick

1/10.
This ship is amusing, but at the end of the day, the stick is an inhuman object and with both Half Moon and Briarlight as possible interests, how could Jayfeather waste time liking a piece of wood?

9) HollyxFallen

I rate HollyxFallen an 8/10.
Hollyleaf and Fallen Leaves are an adorable couple. They bonded when Hollyleaf got trapped in the tunnels.
Fallen Leaves cared for Hollyleaf while she recovered from her injuries and he felt less lonely with her around.
I gave them an 8 because they have a massive age gap between them.

10) LeafxMoth

And lastly, we have Leafpool and Mothwing! I rate them a 10/10.
They are so cute together.
And people believe they actually crushed on each other at one point.
Well, Leafpool has called Mothwing beautiful about a hundred times. They are amazing friends and apart from Leafpool being in love with Crowfeather, this relationship could work out.
