Silverdusk takes a look at how Tigerstar’s past influenced him.

We all know about the evil cats who plague the warrior books with fear and terror and blood (and excitement.)
Many people just regard them as evil. That’s all there is to it.
Anyway thanks for reading my article and have a good day!

Hahaha just kidding.
I believe there’s more to these characters. Nobody just becomes evil. They don’t wake up one morning and and say, “okay, I’m a bad guy now.”
There’s generally a reason.
So I’m going to go over how the past of these villains shaped their future.

Let’s start off my How Villians Pasts Shaped Their Future with the most known and feared villian of all, Tigerstar.

So we know about all the cats he’s killed and that he wanted to take Bluestar’s place without waiting his turn.
So Tigerstar’s reason for turning evil is ambition.
But is it more?

Let’s go back through all the arcs, to a Super Edition called Bluestar’s Prophecy.
This is the book where Tigerstar was born.
So let’s have a look at his early life, shall we?

Firstly, Tigerstar was born as the weakest kit in his litter. So imagine how he must’ve felt when he became the strongest! What a victory for this tiny tom. Everybody was happy that at least one of Leopardfoot’s litter had survived.
Everybody except Tigerkit’s father, Pinestar.
Ok sorry but let’s just take a moment to think about how truly DISGUSTING Leopardfoot and Pinestar’s relationship is.
PINESTAR IS THE AGE OF LEOPARDFOOT’S GRANDPARENTS AND HE’S A HORRIBLE MATE, HE JUST LEAVES TO BECOME A KITTYPET WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT FOR THE APPARENT LOVE OF HIS LIFE WHO IS YOUNG ENOUGH TO BE HIS GRANDDAUGHTER.
Sorry about that.
But this rant has brought me to my second point.
Pinestar left to be a kittypet. Tigerkit was shown to be quite upset about this- he even growled at his dad when Pinestar was saying goodbye- and Tigerstar was also angry with Pinestar when his father gave him a life.
(Also, kind of stupid that all these random cats and Pinestar give Tigerstar a life, but Tigerstar’s own mother who loved him more then any other cat didn’t get to.)
Anyways, Tigerstar must’ve felt he had something to prove. That be had to show everybody he would never leave his Clan and maybe he thought achieving leadership was one way?

And now let’s talk about Tigerstar’s mentor.

Thistleclaw is an ambitious tom who’ll do anything to achieve his goal to become leader.
Hmmm. Where does that sound familar?
Tigerstar.
Tigerstar’s mentor was Thistleclaw, who likely passed on his bloodlust and ambition to his apprentice.
Tigerkit was so innocent; then in the blink of an eye Tigerpaw is attacking innocent kittypet kits.
Not to mention Tigerclaw seemed to be Thistleclaw’s biggest ally; the two toms often backed each other up in whatever they were trying to say.
So it is highly likely that Thistleclaw impacted the way Tigerstar became
