Why Firestar Shouldn’t Have Been The Fourth Cat by Scorchpaw

Scorchpaw argues why Firestar shouldn’t have been part of the final prophecy.

Hi! My name is Hornetpaw and this is my first ever article! I have just finished reading Omen Of The Stars and the one thing that irritates me is how Firestar is the fourth cat in the prophecy.

We all know about Firestar and how he began as a kittypet and then became leader. Firestar has endless fame surrounding him- every cat knows about him even long after his death. He is credited as being the best leader ever.
Of course it would make sense for him to be that fourth cat.
But I personally think that another cat should’ve had that role.

Firestar is famous enough, he doesn’t need to be in another prophecy.
I can think of 2 cats that would’ve Been better suited to being that fourth cat.

The first one is Hollyleaf. She came back from the tunnels in A Forgotten Warrior- just so that she could die in the next book.
Hollyleaf was originally thought to be the third cat in the Kin of Your Kin prophecy, alongside her brothers Lionblaze and Jayfeather. She was understandably upset over discovering she was just a normal cat, so wouldn’t it be nice for her to be the fourth cat? And if the Erins wanted the fourth cat to die, then Hollyleaf would be a good choice because she also died in The Last Hope, just like Firestar.

The next cat I think could’ve been the fourth cat is Ivypool.

Ivypool has felt overshadowed by her sister Dovewing for her whole life.
Dovewing may be the third cat in the prophecy, but Ivypool has risked her life by going into the dark forest every night.
She didn’t have to agree to that but she did. Ivypool deserved to be the fourth after everything that she had to go through.
Ivypool is so brave and is directly connected to the DF, which the whole arc is based around. She also basically saved the clans with the information she gathered during her spying. It would make sense if she were the fourth cat.

Maybe Blossomfall could also be the fourth cat. Even if she isn’t Firestar’s kin, she is also connected to the DF and felt neglected by her mother.

Anyway, that’s all I have for today. Sorry if this article was boring!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
