Some Of My Favorite MAPs & AMVs by Flamefire

Flamefire shares some of their favourite MAPs and AMVs.

Hello! I’ve been on a bit of a writing spree lately, and I was just finishing an awesome MAP and decided, since I’ve seen it before, “let’s write an article about my favorite MAPs!” So here we go. (There’s no specific order to the rankings, just whichever one I think of first.) And, also, spoilers for books up to … maybe a Vision of Shadows.

1. I See Fire – Firestar MAP
This one is about Firestar in the Last Hope, recounting all of his memories from his past as he prepares to launch into battle against the Dark Forest. It’s a beautiful, well-made, heart-throbbing MAP, which could probably make people feel a bit emotional. I didn’t, but I don’t really tear up for MAPs; even though this one is absolute gold. I recommend everyone watching this who knows Firestar’s whole history. (It’s also my favorite MAP<3)

2. Cell Block Tango – Hollyleaf, Goldenflower, Nightcloud, Silverstream, Mapleshade, and Squirrelflight MAP
This MAP is pulled from Chicago, and is about Hollyleaf, Goldenflower, Nightcloud, Silverstream, Mapleshade, and Squirrelflight. It twists the story a bit for some of the characters, making them seem more evil when really they’re not, but it’s a very well-made MAP, very impressive. I suggest watching it. It’s my second favorite MAP, as well.

3. She Wants Me (To Be Loved) – Thrushpelt MAP
Yay! Thrustpelt! One of my favorite characters! This is about Thrushpelt and Bluefur, and him accepting she isn’t in love with him, and her feeling badly about making Thrushpelt feel a bit down. But it’s also a nice MAP that gives Thrushpelt some credit, because it shows how he’s willing to sacrifice his love for Bluefur for the better cause – pretending to be the father of her kits so nobody will suspect anything. My third favorite MAP. Go Thrushpelt!

4. Loathing – Sandpaw and Firepaw MAP
I’m pretty sure it’s from some sort of musical, but I don’t know. This MAP is about when Firepaw and Sandpaw first met, it was brutal and they disliked each other heavily. But then the tides turned, and they began to realize they liked each other. It’s a very good MAP and I have no regrets watching it.

5. Wait For It – Brambleclaw/star MAP
Wait For It, Brambleclaw/star’s MAP is a brilliantly put together MAP of his life, and his hard choices throughout it. Wait For It is pulled from the musical Hamilton, and in the MAP it shows Firestar being portrayed as Hamilton, as Brambleclaw/star has flashbacks of when Firestar saved him from dying in a fire as a kit. In my opinion, after seeing this, Firestar deserves more credit because he is the reason Brambleclaw/star is alive, and like it or not, Brambleclaw/star did some good things in his life. Also, if he’d died, Tawnypelt would be very, very sad, and probably wince around the subject since it happened when she was a kit. But anyway, very good MAP, totally recommend!
