MoonTabby compares Warriors characters to Disney villains.
Hello, MoonTabby is BACK with my… what, fourth article? Fifth? I’m lazy and sort of lost count 😛 Anyway, today I will be comparing Warriors villains to Disney villains! This is going to be so wicked! 😈 I mean fun! Sure… 🤪
There are so many baddies from both Warriors and Disney, where do I start? Disney has plenty of villains both male and female, but sadly, Warriors is severely lacking in she-cat villains… I’m mainly looking at how their personalities match up, though. I hope there’s something for everyone here. Villains aren’t very nice, obviously, but they make any plot so exciting! It would be boring if there was no Tigerstar and Scourge for Firestar to defeat, right?

~ Tigerstar = Scar
Scar, Mufasa’s sulking brother from The Lion King (1994), would be a similar villain to Tigerstar. Scar became second in line to the throne when Mufasa’s son, Simba, was born, and sought to destroy him. Likewise, Tigerstar was deputy and second in line to Bluestar; he also tried to harm Fireheart from the moment he joined ThunderClan. Both of them… grown adults who should have nothing to fear from a cub or kit, yet try to kill them! Honestly! And like how Scar forged an alliance with the hyenas, Tigerstar fled to ShadowClan and conquered it, using it to try to overcome the entire cat world. I think Erin Hunter surely must’ve been a fan of The Lion King! 😀
~ Mapleshade = Maleficent
Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty (1959) is a great match for Mapleshade! Mapleshade is practically the Mistress of Evil in the Warrior Cats world, being one of the only female villains in the series. They’re both two of the scariest, cruellest villains in their respective universes. I can just imagine Mapleshade carrying a staff and green flames flickering around her in the Dark Forest!
~ Ashfur = Gaston
Done and done, this is an easy match. Both these guys are creepy, toxic, and possessive of women. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast (1991) is shown to be a loud man who tries to pressure Belle, the girl he’s in love with, to marry him. And similarly, Ashfur falls in love with Squirrelflight and dreams of becoming her mate. But Squirrelflight refuses him when she realizes that her heart belongs with Brambleclaw, causing Ashfur to become furious. Both Ashfur and Gaston tried to exact revenge on these women for shutting them down, and ultimately lost their lives in the process… (Ahem, though I don’t think Gaston ever came back from the afterlife to torture Belle and her friends and family and try to destroy the whole wide world – *gasp for breath* Hmm, though that would make for an interesting sequel to the movie… Disney, write that down! ) I’ve also seen people compare Ashfur to Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I still think Gaston is more suitable for him.
~ Hawkfrost = Hades
I know I just said I’m judging these cats based on their personalities, not their appearances, but…You know how Hawkfrost has those chilly ice blue eyes? They kind of look like Hades’s head of flaming blue hair. They both are manipulative and cunning, though Hades from Hercules (1997) is more comical – I’m also totally thinking that Hawkfrost would have that snappy, raspy voice of Hades’s voice actor! Both of them like to watch and wait for an opportunity to strike, instead of attacking recklessly head-on.
~ Thistleclaw = Jafar
Ugh… Thistleclaw I think is a match to Jafar from Aladdin (1992). They’re both creepy, sly, and manipulative. Like Jafar, Thistleclaw is also quick to anger. Now, a more serious (and grosser) topic is that they both were part of a toxic “relationship”, if you can even call it that. In Aladdin, Jafar wanted to make Jasmine his queen, which – excuse my gagging 🤢 – is SICK. Super old, super creepy man wanting to marry this young teenage girl – YUCK. Yes, the movie was set in a historical timeframe, so things were a lot different back then. Still… it’s totally gross. And Thistleclaw… I’m only going to mention it really quickly since I know it’s a hush-hush topic on the Blog… Thistleclaw tried to flirt in a very disturbing way with young Spottedleaf. Not. Cool.
On that note, I’m going to wrap this article up. I wish I could’ve done more villains – maybe, just maybe, I’ll come back with a part 2 or other Disney-related segment! Let me know what you think in the comments. What are your favorite villains, in both the Warriors and Disney worlds?
Great article! in Warriors, my fav villains are Mapleshade and Darktail! In Disney, Scar and Hades!
I agree with you about Thistleclaw. How he flirted to Spottedleaf was NOT. COOL.
