Hello! Amberpaw is back with a new article. I haven’t written one in ages! Today I’m going to take a look at Hollyleaf and see why she doesn’t deserve to be one of the Three.
Disclaimer: I’m not hating on Hollyleaf or explaining why I don’t like her. I am just saying why she couldn’t be one of the Three.
1. She worships the warrior code too much.
You probably saw this one coming. The warrior code is a good thing (or at least, it should be) but all cats break it sometimes. Hollyleaf would need to understand this to not murder every WindClan cat that strays across ThunderClan territory.
Also, if she was one of the Three then she couldn’t follow the warrior code properly. Hollyleaf would need to understand that to use their powers, they would have to break the Code. Hollyleaf wouldn’t be much use to the clans if she wouldn’t use her powers because of the warrior code.
2. She’s too indecisive.
I’m getting onto the medicine cat thing later, but I’m going to say now that she was first apprenticed as a medicine cat. The second she got Leafpool as her mentor, she wanted to go and do warrior things with Lionblaze (Lionpaw). Then she decided that she wanted to be a normal warrior. MAKE YOUR MIND UP HOLLY!!
On the journey to the Tribe, Hollyleaf decided that she wanted to change the way that the tribe lived, by teaching them the warrior code and showing them warrior things. The second she got into the cave, she decided that they were better off without the Code.
If a cat had powers they would have to know what and why they wanted to use their powers for, and there’s no guarantee Hollyleaf would.
3. She wants to be remembered
The only reason Hollyleaf got apprenticed as a medicine cat is because she wanted to be remembered as an “important” member of the clan. If she was part of the 3 she would be. But, if that’s why she wanted to be part of the 3, then we wouldn’t be able to be sure what she would do to be remembered like Tigerstar.
4. She killed an innocent cat.
Hollyleaf tried to kill another cat. I’m not talking about Ashfur, because he deserved it, but Leafpool. Not because Leafpool deserved it, but because she was in a bad mood and wanted to vent her feelings to someone else. Therefore she wouldn’t be safe with powers and other cats could be in danger.
5. She’s a coward.
There’s a difference between being scared and being a coward. Being scared is natural, and nothing anyone should be ashamed of. Being a coward is being too scared to face the consequences of your actions, and a coward wouldn’t be a good person to rely on to save your life.
And finally, Dovewing is just infinite times better that Hollyleaf anyway.
Thats all I can think of for now, I hope you enjoyed my article! Feel free to disagree! Amberpaw, out.
May StarClan light your path.
I agree, but I think she should have been the forth cat of the later prophecy.
How can you agree? Hollyleaf is NOT a coward, indecisive, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be remembered!
Hollyleaf is not a coward! She just wanted to be a hero because she wasn’t part of the three and she felt alone. Also, she was mad because being half Thuderclan half Windclan will make you feel not part of the group. Also, I just think she was amazing of her personality and how she worked hard to become a skilled fighter rather than becoming a medicine cat. She really worked hard and she did not like the way she was the only one who was not part and chosen by Starclan. She worships the warrior code because that is the right thing to do. Also, Dovewings power is to just hear and to feel stuff so it isn’t stronger than following the warrior code. Also, she doesn’t want to get attention, she just wants to be loved. She is not a mary sue she just wants to feel like she has to try to be a good hero so that she can bond with her litter mates. This is just my opinion. Thank you! May Starclan lead your path!

Yes she was afraid of what she did, but I don’t blame her. She was having a melt down. Everyone gets that sometimes. I don’t think she is a coward tho.
I agree with Oceanbreeze. Hollyleaf isn’t a coward, she just respects the Warrior Code too much.
Hollyleaf wasn’t one of the 3… she wasn’t even the 4th cat. (How dare they make Firestar the 4th instead of Ivypool 😠)
Time to rant:
Dovewing is NOT better than Holly, but Holly’s a bit better than Dove! Why? Holly wasn’t whiny, a brat, or spoiled. She also didn’t have a meltdown when she died, but Dovewing did WHEN SHE LOST HER POWERS. Like OML, chill out Dove, no one cares that you lost your powers, but you LITERALLY RUN INTO THE CAVE SO YOU CAN HEAR ‘THE ECHOES’ “SO YOU’RE NOT DEAF ANYMORE”
Arghhhhhh, I can’t.
-end of rant-
How would she be breaking the code by using her powers?? (If she had any!) Dove broke the code to check on Sedgewhisker, and met up w/ Tigerheart(I think)
Lion broke the code visiting Heather😍, and also apparently killed Russetfur (even though I don’t think he did)
I don’t think Jay broke the code.
If they broke the code, they did it on their own accord.
Great article! I disagree though.
Yeah Hollyleaf is obsessed with the warrior code but that’s ok, I feel like it’s better than not caring at all about it, like Lionblaze, who didn’t care at all and was purrfectly fine to manipulate and/or kill other cats to get what he wants.
I don’t think she’s indesicive either, she thought she would like being a medicine cat, then she decided she didn’t. That’s purrfectly fine I think. She wanted to teach the tribe the warrior code until she found out how they actually worked and I actually like that about her because it means she’s willing to give other systems a chance <3
Also she might have wanted to be remembered but so did Lionblaze, he only cares about himself and will go to great lengths to be this amazing cat that he's really not. and honestly every other cat or person wants to be remembered to some extent. Think about it. I don’t like it when people do stupid things to be remembered but I don’t think Hollyleaf did, I'm pretty sure Hollyleaf just wanted to help her Clan she didn't do it for selfish reasons.
Yes she tried to kill Leafpool, but Leafpool kind of sucks anyways and it would've been better for everyone if she didn't exist, if prophecies are so important someone else would've had the 3 instead of Leafpool plus, Lionblaze killed innocent cats too, he killed Harestar, yeah I know that wasn't the same he was really just mad as well, and then he tried to kill Bramblestar why? because he was in a bad mood and wanted to vent his feelings to someone else. Even though he knew Bramblestar was innocent he still tried to kill him or his body at least I think that's worse. Okay you may notice I'm making a lot of lionblaze references, I hate Lionblaze with a burning passion, so there.
And she is not a coward. She left into the tunnels because she knew she needed a break from the clan and that's a good thing.
Rosefern, out.
HOLLYLEAF IS INFINITE TIMES BETTER THAN DOVEWING!!!!!
