Analyzing and Rating Clans, Groups and Tribes 1#: ThunderClan by Bengi

Bengi takes a look at ThunderClan.

Hi, Bengi here with her first article under the name of Glorypaw/glow! (I’ve written at least two other articles with different names.) This article will be about my opinion on ThunderClan! Sorry if it is a bit unorganized!
Overall ThunderClan is a nice Clan to live in. If I were a Warrior cat, ThunderClan would probably make it to my Top Three ‘Pick a Clan’. I, too, like climbing trees, watching squirrels (but not hunting them) and being outdoors. There are also some pretty honorable cats in ThunderClan!
But then again, no Clan is made out of perfect cats (by perfect cats I don’t mean Mary Sues, but cats with an even personality table, mischievous thoughts, but overall a very kind personality and no super stylish and pretty cats, although once in a while that just happens) and ThunderClan is has some very dishonorable cats that do a lot of misdoings and questionable choices in their lives. They can range from Bluestar (whom I dislike) to Leafpool (who I’m pretty neutral about but can agree that my scale is tipping towards the dislike) to Tigerstar (who I dislike as a character but like as a villain) to many other ThunderClan cats who have done some overall bad deeds and choices. Personally, I would not like to live in a Clan with a fragile leader, a menacing deputy, warriors and apprentices who dislike you for something you can’t change instead of who you are, and traitorous medicine cats. (Grumpy elders and mewling kits are excusable.) However, something I like about ThunderClan is that they are getting more open to loners, half-Clan cats and kittypets. Sure, it changes under different leaderships and how Clanmates decide to react, but overall, ThunderClan and SkyClan are probably the most open to cats not from their Clans, which is a good thing that we can also relate to in real life, ranging from excluding other kids in schools to some big, worldwide situations we are dealing with right now. In addition, most leaders ThunderClan had tried to keep the peace and help out as long as it’s not, like, giving rogues shelter for no reason or granting ShadowClan land and prey after they just attacked the Clan.
Also, I know this is not ThunderClan’s fault, but the whole Warriors series mainly is about Warrior cats, but the center is a lot about ThunderClan. ThunderClan this, ThunderClan that: all the other Clan cats only have perspectives in epilogues, prologues, the Novellas, and the Super Editions. The books are almost always from a ThunderClan cat’s perspective. Not only that, but almost every villain in the stories comes from ThunderClan. Tigerclaw/star, Ashfur, Mapleshade…only some like Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, Scourge, and the other rogues are not ThunderClan CATS. Of course, when you go a little farther, it becomes a little different, with all the Twolegs and dogs and Sharptooth the mountain lion (although now that you think about it he is technically a cat).
But anyways, to come to a conclusion, I’ll do a quick recap: a normal ThunderClan life would be actually pretty nice, but when you go into details you get they’re pretty open to other cats, aren’t exactly the vicious ‘the response to everything your enemy does is ATTACK!!!’ type and quite a few of my favorite characters come from ThunderClan. However, ThunderClan is the main Clan, it gets all the attention, and many relevant characters come from – you guessed it! – ThunderClan.
To FINALLY conclude this article, my opinion on ThunderClan is pretty neutral, tipping to the ‘I like it’ scale. ThunderClan falls into second or third place on my ‘Favorite Clan/Tribe’ scale. I rate it 3 out of 5 stars! What’s your opinion?
