Hi! It’s me Silverdusk 🙂 this is like my 15th article and today I’m going to be listing cats and saying if they’re overrated or underrated. So without further ado, let’s get started!
1) Jayfeather
Definitely Overrated! Don’t get me wrong, I love Jayfeather. He’s one of my favourite characters. But everyone loves him so much and he’s probably one of the most loved characters ever, and he gets all this hype. So he’s probably overrated.
2) Ferncloud
Underrated!! I feel like people don’t appreciate all the amazing stuff Ferncloud does. She is so sweet and amazing and a great mother. She gave her life to save Dewkit, Amberkit and Snowkit. Apparently, Ferncloud was killed off during the Great Battle because of all the fan hate surrounding her. I don’t know if that’s true, but if it is, that’s crazy. How can you not love Ferncloud? So what if she had a lot of kits, she’s a cat so it doesn’t really matter!! And there’s some people who have had more kids than Ferncloud, nobody judges them.
4) Dovewing
This one is kind of hard. A lot of people love Dovewing, but heaps of people hate her. So I think she’s been judged perfectly. Dovewing has good moments- she is a pretty good sister, a great mother and she can be really nice. But other times she can be whiny, bratty and annoying. It’s really just the way you see Dovewing. I feel like a fairly even amount of people hate and love Dovewing.
5) Firestar
OVERRATED!!! Nobody can deny this. I love Firestar. He’s my 10th favourite character, he’s awesome and kind and brave and heroic and the best leader that ever set paw on earth. But— if you look at what I just wrote, you can see what I mean about him being overrated. Personally, I think that Firestar deserves all the love he gets. But he also gets a bit of hate too. Many people think that Firestar is a Gary Stu, but I think he isn’t. Which is why it makes me confused why a lot of people act like Firestar is flawless. So anyway, Firestar, the mighty ThunderClan leader, is definitely overrated.
6) Silverstream
Underrated!! (ok she’s kind of overrated but anyway) So many people hate on Silverstream and it makes me so sad. She’s an amazing character! She’s one of my all-time favourite characters and she’s so cool. Yes, she’s a bit spoiled and over-confident, but she’s also really interesting and kind. I think she deserves more appreciation and love.
7) Spottedleaf
OVERRATED!!!!! Everyone acts like Spottedleaf is the most perfect, beautiful, precious thing that ever existed. She’s apparently so nice, gentle and sweet-smelling. I don’t really hate Spottedleaf, but I dislike her. She had some flaws in Spottedleaf’s Heart, like being bossy and having a crush on Thistleclaw, but in TPB, she’s all perfect and amazing. I HATE SpottedXFire. Firestar fell in love with Spottedleaf after knowing her for 2 seconds, never moved on from her and she stalked his dreams. Perfect relationship. Anyway, Spottedleaf gets a lot of hate too, but the books describe her as the kindest, most wonderful cat ever and it’s annoying. So Spottedleaf is definitely overrated.
8) Leafstar
Underrated!!! Leafstar is an amazing leader who lost so much but never gave up. She is fair and thoughtful and reasonable and amazing. I feel like people overlook her great qualities. Leafstar deserves so much more love than she gets ❤️
9) Bramblestar
Overrated! A LOT of people hate Bramblestar for being abusive toward Squirrelflight and just having a never ending leadership. But I still think he’s overrated. Why? Because he’s been alive for so long. It’s, like, 5 arcs after the arc where he was the main character (TNP.)
And he’s still kicking. It wouldn’t be an issue if everyone didn’t HATE him. Just get rid of him already! Bramblestar’s Clanmates act like he’s the best thing ever and he’s just so annoying.
10) Leafpool
She’s overrated. She’s kind and pretty and gentle. She’s definitely NOT a Mary Sue (in my opinion, anyway.) But Leafpool gets all this love and admiration, so it’s kind of impossible for her not to be overrated.

Great Article l love Firestar and hate Spotted x Fire it’s soooooooooo weird and he doesn’t care until she dies. Fire x Sand is wayyyyyy better I hate Dovewing. Ferncloud doesn’t deserve hate neither does Silverstream.

Fun fact: Snowbird had more kits then Ferncloud and she doesn’t get any hate.
It doesn’t make sense to me why ppl don’t like her.

Great article; I agree with the majority of your opinions. I like how you wrote this article in a list-format to make it extra interesting, accessible, and brief! Primarily, I believe that Jayfeather is neither overrated nor underrated – just somewhere in-between. If you really analyze his character and actions, as well as the number of readers who love him, you’ll realize that Jayfeather, an interesting and lovable character, did so much for his Clan. Legitimately! He saved not only ThunderClan, but all of the Clans, during the Great Battle using both his powers and his intelligence and compassion. He’s embarked on a surplus of important journeys to help cats, has healed and comforted numerous patients as a medicine cat, and has calmed his siblings. Next, his personality is so unique and likable at once – what BlogClanners, including myself, love about him! He has a clever, grumpy, sarcastic, slightly pessimistic, and cynical demeanor. However, deeper within his personality, he’s actually very empathetic, loving, slightly sensitive (in some ways), and self-doubting. So there is certainly a powerful reason behind why he’s adored by so many; still, numerous people hate him as well. Besides, being overrated is when a character is given too much love based on their actions, effect, and personality, and with Jayfeather’s wonderful combination, I don’t think that this is the case. Also: I love Leafstar!

Cool article! I agree with almost all of your opinions. Silverstream has her flaws, but she’s a fairly minor character and also she loves Graystripe more than anything! I HATE Dovewing, you know why, and Spotted x Fire shouldn’t exist. Firepaw falls in love with this random cat after knowing her for like 5 seconds just because she…smells good? And she stalks his dreams. That’s…concerning. Anyway, I feel like Bramblestar is in the middle, and Jayfeather, while he is one of my favorites, he is overrated. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a good character. He deserves all the love he gets. Same for Firestar, and NO, he is not a Gary Stu, he has his flaws. He’s too trusting, he’s kinda dumb at times, and he judged Bramblekit harshly just because of his family. Overall, really original idea for an article and well-written!

Great article, Silv! Jay is overrated, but that’s not a reason to hate on him. He’s grumpy and sassy and sarcastic and awesome. Same goes for Firestar. He is awesome. AWESOME awesome. But…he’s overrated. Still not a reason to hate him. Silverstream is great in TPB, but in the little comic at the end of Crookedstar’s Promise, she is a little arrogant, but other than that, she’s a great character! Leafstar is awesome, but I feel she needs to go. She has been the leader of modern SkyClan for as long as Firestar put the Clan back together. She’s great, but I really want a Hawkstar. Hawkwing is amazingly awesome. Bramblestar has been around for a long time, but I don’t find him annoying. I…like him. *dodges tomatoes* I don’t want to debate this right now… anyway… Spottedleaf. She’s so awesome, according to the books. But she’s not. She literally stalks a guy’s dreams that she has known for like 5 seconds, and Firestar falls in love with her the moment he sets eyes on her. SpottedxFire is so disgusting-I hate it.Leafpool! She’s great! She is a bit overrated, but again, not a reason to hate her. Awesome article again, Silv!

This article is so amazing, I don’t know where to begin. Some of the characters I don’t know (I’ve only read up to Midnight in TNP), but for those I do know, I mostly agree with the ratings. Firestar does seem a bit overrated, though he is by no means a Gary Stu. Also, Spottedleaf is creepy. She’s literally haunting a poor cat’s dreams, whom she BARELY EVEN KNOWS!!! I mean like, stop creeping Firestar out with you prophecies! If anyone in the series is a Mary Sue, it’s HER!!! 😤 Sorry about that, I just got carried away. Also, Silverstream is sooooo underrated. She literally DIED just so her kits could live. Amazing article! Can’t wait to see more!
