Scorchmist rates some more non-canon ships.
Hi! Scorchmist here with my third article! In this article I’ll be ranking three more of the most popular non-canon/partially cannon “ships” of the Warriors fandom.
Warning from StarClan: Luckily there are no major spoilers in this article, though it’s best if you have read the first four arcs so you understand what this article is talking about. Remember to respect others’ views on these ships, and be polite in your comments.
Ivypool X Blossomfall: 9/10
This is a great ship! Both Ivypool and Blossomfall were neglected by their mothers and tricked into training in The Place of No Stars. There is also a decent amount of chemistry between these two in the books. I think they would be a perfect match because of their similar personalities and experiences. I would rate this ship a 9/10 because I love the idea of the two bonding over their shared experiences and problems, and I think they would work well together.
Jay X Briarlight: 3/10
To me this ship feels wrong, for a few reasons. First, there’s the age gap between the two of them. Briarlight is at least 18 moons younger than Jayfeather, which, counting how fast cats mature, is a huge gap. The second reason is the one that really bothers me. A few months ago, I read someone’s article on this ship. Their argument was that Jayfeather and Briarlight are a perfect pair because Briarlight can’t accidentally fall pregnant with Jayfeather’s kits, since she is paralyzed. Nothing against whoever wrote that article, but this is a terrible reason to ship any characters. Overall, I’m giving it a 3/10, because while I do think Jayfeather and Briarlight are both great characters, I do not see them in a romance.
Reedshine X Mapleshade: 6/10
I like this ship, but I also find it unrealistic. Mapleshade and Reedshine both have similar experiences in terms of being cheated on, which they could bond over. However, because they were in a relationship with the same character, this one feels slightly unrealistic. Another problem with this ship is that Mapleshade resides in The Place of No Stars and Reedshine in StarClan, which would cause a lack of contact between these two characters. I’ll give this ship a 6/10, because it could potentially work, but the dynamic between the Reedshine and Mapleshade is a bit tense.
I hope you enjoyed my article! Until next time!
I don’t ship Mapleshade x Reedshine in canon, but I like the AU potential.
Yes, Jayfeather x Briarlight IS wrong. I don’t like this ship because the doctor x patient dynamic of it makes me sick, I also thought of them more of siblings, plus Jayfeather already had kits with Half Moon as Jay’s Wing, and he would be cheating on her. Also I really hate Briarlight, no offense.
I don’t think think that Ivypool was neglected by her mom tho….
How was Ivypool neglected by Whitewing?
